Terribly sad news today as the club announces the passing of The Goalie.

Our thoughts are with his family on this tragic day.

Rest up Andy - you were Simply the Best.

Andy Goram

RANGERS Football Club are today deeply saddened to announce the death of our legendary goalkeeper, Andy Goram, following a short battle with cancer. Goram, 58, made 260 appearances for Gers between 1991 and 1998. In that time, he won five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.

Great tribute, thanks both. When Martyn said 'they knew the words', that brought back my own favourite memory of The Goalie; off the field one anyway. In mid 90's I lived in London and a bunch of us were on a Saturday night piss-up at School Dinners restuarant. Who walks in but The Goalie, on a stag night... Needless to say the as drinks progressed we decided to get up on the table and belt out the Sash and a few other ditties in his honour (yes that place was pretty chaotic at the best of times). It did not take long for Andy to join us belting out the tunes; much to the bemusement of the others on the stag night. He certainly knew the words!!! RIP Goalie.
