Thank you for having the courage to record this. I’m devastated beyond belief

Scotty

Sleep well goalie

Kev Armstrong

When I was young I thought Rangers could beat Celtic with just Goram and ally playing. That’s how highly I thought of them bkth

Andy Sladen

A fitting and touching tribute - well done to you both. RIP Andy 💙🇬🇧

Steve Clark

He was loved by the loyalist community in NI because he didn’t just pay lip service to the rangers support in NI,he visited rsc’s in every part of the province and didn’t act like a big time Charlie and was doing you a favor by turning up.

Tamus

Better than all the rest - legend

Gary Brown

Just doesn't seem real, taken too soon. Heartfelt condolences to his family & friends. Not christened THE Goalie for nothing, a legend. Legends live on forever! Rest easy Goalie. Lovely tribute Martyn & David. I remember the immense and well deserved praise from Brian Moore & Ron Atkinson in the Leeds away game. The Van Hooijdonk one defies belief. But its not only about the unbelievable ones. We were treated to superb saves so regulary in normal league games that those extra-ordinary saves became ordinary for us. We were spoiled by the sheer class on offer all the time.

Bob MacCallum

Thanks for that tribute to The Goalie. A better, more apt nickname has never been devised. He was the best Gers keeper I've ever seen since I started going to Ibrox in 1960. However, as the best of all time, he has competition in the likes of Bobby Brown or Jerry Dawson. These guys should not be underestimated because they played before our time.

Bill Ramsay

The greatest ever Rangers keeper. End of. I love McGregor as much as the next fan, but it shouldn't even be a question.

John Mcmillan

I first went to Ibrox in 1980, the goalkeeper that day was Peter Mcloy, the Girvan Lighthouse and a Barca Bear….no one could be better….. Until 1986 when the England number 2, Chris Woods joined Rangers. He would set goalkeeping records, helped to revolutionise the Gers and Scottish football. When he left no one could replace him….. Then there arrived a short ugly dude from Hibs, his first 4-6 months at Rangers were marked with some howling errors, the talk was he would not last long, he is not Woods class…. But he kept going, working hard, striving to improve….. and he did….. Andy Goram went from being A goalie to THE goalie, the man to which all subsequent keepers are compared and judged, he silenced those who poked fun at Scottish goalkeepers, he inspired confidence in the team in front of him and broke the will of the opposition….. one of the few footballers who you could talk about without saying his name…. For he was THE GOALIE…. His loss at the age of 58 is very sad. You may not agree with the above, and that is fine…. But I am a Rangers supporter, The Goalie gave me and many like me, lots of wonderful memories with his performances and he will forever be an Ibrox Legend.

Pedro M SVO

a great tribute show for him r.i.p the goalie

Samuel Campbell

The save from van hooijdonk is one of, if not the greatest save I have ever seen. No matter how many times I see the replay, I still expect it to go in. RIP Andy

James Muir

THE GOALIE FOREVER SIMPLE THE BEST ANDY WATP

John Davidson

Thank you Andy. And thank you David and Martyn.

Stuart McWilliams

"Making the brilliant routine" is a wonderful summary of his talent. Watch our defenders after the Van Hooijdonk save, none of them are surprised or shocked as they had seen him do it so many times before.

Jason Allan

Sadly another legend of our great club passes on, his legacy will live on as our greatest number 1. Difficult listen so well done on getting through this episode, also when you look back the sheer number of sensational saves we almost expected him to make us unreal. Thank you Andy Goram.

KMS

A thing that we overlook about Andy is that the passback rule also came into play in his era, he excelled with it, like the proverbial duck to water, his predecessor, Chris Woods wasn't so good with it, Guys like Jim Leighton?... Utter Gash!, Andy was so good he adapted to it seamlessly. (I wrote this as I was listening, Davie just mentioned it ♥️👍)

Jason Slavin

Rip my friend and the best Goalie I have ever seen

Iain MacDougall

Absolutely devastated when the news broke. I grew up playing as a defender/goalkeeper, I always pretended to be Woods as a little lad but when I started playing in the position for real, I had the best in the world to watch and base myself on. Hopefully in a tiny % of a keeper that the Goalie was. Rest easy Goalie, rest easy 😢

Pedro

Well done guys. This was really, really good. And needed. Thanks.

Zander West

Well done lads, lovely Tribute,, RIP ANDY

Andrew Hind

Lovely tribute guys, rest in peace goalie

Iain Shaw

Chris Woods was one of my first Rangers heroes. When Goram came in I just assumed it could only be a downgrade. He had a bad start, but he came good soon enough, and in the process Andy gave us memories and an identity as Rangers fans in the 90s that will live with us for our whole lives. David and Martyn have got it spot on with their summary of what Andy Goram gave to us and the fear he put in our opponents. I agree with David that there was a time when he genuinely was the best keeper in the world. Being a kid then a teenager through the 90s it was one of those strange formative experiences to gradually understand that as great as Chris Woods was, Andy was somehow actually better. While that taught me that it's possible that somebody could always top Goram eventually as our best-ever keeper (and McGregor has made me think hard about this question), Andy will always be The Goalie to me. Great tribute David and Martyn, and thanks for taking the time to do it today.

Rona Bluebell

Thank Christ for Goram. Indeed. On every level.

Ewan Christie

Jeez lads, that cut me real deep.. simply the best and always will be ❤️

Craig Fryatt

Brilliant tribute lads, listened to it thrice and as much as Andy broke Tommy Burn’s heart after Walter and Jimmy mine has been broken today. WATP 💙

Gary Gillan

Brilliant show, lads 💔🤍💙

I am privileged to be able to call Andy a very good friend and he was a “regular” at my pub in Falkirk. He always had time for everyone whether it be a selfie, an autograph or just a chat. Make no mistake about it he was Rangers through and through and loved the club and everything it stands for. He never talked about his saves unless prompted, instead he would tell the story that he got his angles wrong when gazza put the ball over Colin Hendrys head and scored for England. He still beat himself up about it after all these years although I never heard anyone blame him for the goal he reckoned/knew he should have been a foot the other way. That was typical of the man!! Rest in peace brother I’m missing you already 🍺🇬🇧💙

Grant

I have some real personal memories of him, had the pleasure of watching him working with my oldest boy and still have the videos from it. He was absolutely blown away with my lad so much so that he phoned me twice in one day to tell me so and offered to be there for him if he ever needed help. What a man 💙 💙💙

Hoggy

The only player in my time where I can say “I saw the BEST in the world play for my Club at that time”. He was and is The Goalie. Remember him that way. Thank you to David and Martyn. A marvellous tribute.

Iain Harvey

Lovely tribute guys, thank you.

Charlie Murdoch

Loved this. Fitting tribute to a true legend. I had the pleasure of meeting the Goalie when he came into my work. Of course him being a hero of mine I had to serve him and also made sure to mention he was a hero and I was a massive bear. Queue the Goalie immediately asking for the “good Rangers man discount”. What a guy.

Keith Kettlewell

Just bring myself to listen to the tributes to the goalie. He was an incredible support to my brother during a difficult time in his career in a dark spell at Clyde and like the inspiration he was he guided him through. The man was a hero anyway but what he had on a personal level was a gift. Thank you goalie 💙
