Simon

If the ads that we don’t hear have discount codes for things at least put them in the description. Please, if you don’t mind.

Rona Bluebell

Excellent pod. Interesting discussion and analysis. Lundstrum is solid just now and deserves all the praise. Loved the Tillman competition. Glad David is going to Amsterdam as (wait for it) there’ll be no hills for him to die on. 😃

We can’t advertise 3rd party products on Patreon. Could put in the content as that’s ours but not the site as that’s theirs.

Cameron Bell

We can’t advertise on Patreon - they are pretty strict on anything like that/competitions etc. We also want to respect Patrons by releasing ad-free content however we will include links in show descriptions on normal platforms.

Paul

Let's be honest, any bids come in for Borna he should go! He's had so many chances.

Simon

I use Apple podcasts, but I use the patreon link which just pulls the description from patreon which again won’t have it. You don’t need to do full ads, just for money off ball shaver use this code. Or stick the ad on at the end after the outro. Apologies for coming across like Tam from still game but I’m due to renew my lawnmower and want the discount.

John F

Hi David Is there an agreement on price for Tillmans buyout or will that need to be negotiated?

Cameron Bell

Not at all, it’s nice to see the product is reaching its market audience 😂 can you mail me Simon and I’ll get the details sent over Cammy@heartandhand.co.uk

John F

Cheers David

John F

Thats what I thought

John F

But of course , as per the correct protocol, I will blame you if it is wrong! 😂😂

Jordan McKay

I have a question for the qualified refs on the pod - a lot of Bears on social media, between Killie two Saturdays ago and St Johnstone on Saturday past, are adamant that because the ball was played backwards both times that neither goal can be considered offside. But my understanding of the offside rule (in open play) is that the direction of the pass doesn’t actually matter, it’s simply whether or not 1) The player interferes in play after being in an offside position, and 2) an opposing player deliberately plays the ball before the above. Am I wrong? I can’t find anything in the LOTG that refers to pass direction.

Stevie

You are correct, I try to explain it on the pod also. (The ball doesn’t go backwards on Saturday either, the final touch is off the defender and that’s why it goes that way but that’s secondary anyway) Direction of travel doesn’t matter in this instance because of the starting position which is ahead of ball and last defender from a deliberate attempt to play the ball (For example how many times do you hear a player being offside and they say ‘He’s came back onside from an offside position) Cutting ball back and direction of travel is a myth (Most often when you play the ball back he’s behind the play anyway which is key) I hope in some ways this makes sense

Good show/discussions as always but for me, the negative talk whenever we name a midfield with Jack & Lundstram in it is becoming a bit tiresome, I’m hearing folk round about me who don’t know there arse from their elbow coming out with the “we don’t need 2 defensive midfielders in home games” pish any time they’re named together now. More often than not, the best version of our midfield will have both of these guys in it, but because they have played as a screen in front of our defence in big games previously doesn’t mean that’s the only way they can play, they’re really good players so surely they deserve a bit of credit for being able to vary their game, as they proved on Saturday? The midfield on Saturday played with only one guy ever really sitting & 2 more advanced & it functioned the exact same way as it did on Tuesday night with Lawrence & Arfield starting but there was no doom & gloom when that line up was named. No a big issue but still annoying all the same.

Billy Brotherston

Aye, I get that thinking but it’s almost a cliche now when they are named together that the team will be too negative. Obviously, the manager’s far more clued up than us fans & I don’t know his thinking but for me the reason Jack & Lundstram will start games like Saturday where we will have a lot of the ball rather than only the tougher games is because they’ll switch about regarding who sits, where if it was Lundstram & 2 attacking players it’s not as flexible in that regard, they’ll also look after the ball better when it’s needed, which for me, is comforting.

Gary Brown

Great flagship show, thanks David, Cammy & Stevie. Lots of great points discussed. This PSV tie is a big chance, a tough chance but we are certainly capable of taking that chance. Go after them sensibly!👏👏👏 Everyone has to understand this IS the way we will go, (continue to go) under Gio.

Craig

Offside goals like this Colak one are no big deal to me, because he didn't gain any advantage from briefly stepping out and back in again. It's obsessing with the letter rather than the spirit of the law.

Niall MacKay

They also both had shots on target in the first half when we were sounding St Johnstone out. They are hardly Makelele. One of our best performances last season was at home to Hearts where we won 5-0. We won 5-0 because of the performances of Jack and Lundstram in the middle of the park!
