Scottish football doing Scottish football things, will it ever learn? The last league in Europe to get var , well eventually, maybe next month, embarrassing. As for the club's did they learn nothing from 2012, they will not fill your ground , they talk big but don't follow through.

We never give youth a chance. We'd rather play a first team player out of position than give a young player a chance. Been that way for years. Madness.

Ryan Stewart

Said it for ages. The issue with a lot of Scottish refs but in particular Collum is that they ref based on the noise from the crowd and players reactions rather than what they actually see. Collum has proven time and time again that he can’t handle fiery atmospheres like Saturday.

Stuart McWilliams

Completely agree, and the fact they're part time means they can't keep up with play so don't get a clear view of incidents making them more susceptible to crowd and player noise. Collum, in particular, seems to make decisions based on what he thinks might have happened and how will it look in the media.

I watched the highlights of the spfl games this weekend and some desicions the referees gave are truly baffling.

Neil 55

The one at Fir Park when the ball comes off the Livi player's belly and the ref gives a penalty to Motherwell. 😳

Richard Greer

Ross County should have had 2 straight reds. The Baldwin tackle was the worst of the weekend.

Charles Thomson

I only listen to half the update now. Being over saturated with woman's football and updates from the B team. Maybe just me and only my opinion. But Rangers main team gets all my attention lol.

Heart and Hand

Seems the ideal arrangement - listen to the bits you're interested in and tune out of the bits you're not!

Charles Thomson

That is what I do. Though I liked the daily tail ect at the end.anyway. no big deal

Rod

Sounds like we need to get Lovelace out on loan to a Championship side in Jan.

Martin Davies

The fans of these wee diddy clubs hate Rangers more than they love their own clubs. It's bizarre. And this from one of the clubs willing to accept Sky's pitiful TV deal simply because it guarantees money for the next 7 years, its tinpot bowling club stuff I bet the chairman and directors of these clubs hang around when they see a vintage Rolls Royce car with ribbons in the hope of a scramble and a few coppers to keep the lights on.

Colin Mathie

Who's the compliance officer these days, is it still that clown Claire White?

Greig Massie

Re St Mirren ticket situation - is it not the case that the reason League Reconstruction never goes through because so called Provincial teams say they need the income of Old Firm supportere coming to their grounds twice a season?? Is it not why they always block moving to league set up with more teams only playing each other twice a season? If that is so, then this reasoning is now redundant if they are refusing to make unallocated seats/stands available to supporters who actually want them? Foot Shooters

Safe trip David, stick some boxers in your hand luggage😊 you know it makes sense 😎

I don't believe refs are cheats they just aren't very good I think they should go full time so their focus can solely go on football. mistakes will still happen but will still make them better even from a fitness aspect when VAR comes in we need to remember the guys in the van won't be the top refs but when making a decision they won't have players surrounding them and the crowd on their backs so it should result in a better decision (except with the first couple weeks due to overthinking them)

Andrew Meldrum

My own belief is that, as VAR is meant to support refs, is that every red card should automatically be checked by the ref on screen before the card is shown. I refereed(umpired) another sport (volleyball) and was taught to take a breath before big decisions. I think that's what Collum failed to do on Saturday. But equally, it's psychological - if you have the card out, you are less likely to change your mind. If the ref has just said 'hold on, I need to look at that' he looks at Lundstram, sees it's ok and shows yellow with no hint of embarrassment. The downside is if refs end up double checking everything, of course.

Steven Dillon

That was a perfect summary Andrew, take a breath ref and think, both occasions he couldn’t wait to show red (wrongly in my opinion) but why? 👍Lynn

Neil Wilson

Is Lovelace on a 2 year deal? That might heavily influence his first team progression.

William Ross

No other team in Scotland would have received or will receive a straight red card for EITHER of those incidents on Saturday.....well perhaps if they were playing against celtic

Owen Scott

I think it's too early for Lovelace. Also is there not rule saying if you play so many times got First Team you are ineligible for B team? Don't want to put the boy on the sidelines. First step would be training with First Team
