In my time in Amsterdam, I had 3 bikes. One was stolen. My Mrs also had 3 bikes, and one was stolen the day after she bought it. The reason you care is cause somebody has cut your lock. And cause you rely on it you’re fucked. Would be like going out to your car to go to your work in the morning, and somebody has stole your car😂 Obviously not the same value, but means you are going to be late for work. Also there is zero point in reporting it cause it’s so common that the police don’t do anything, so you are also going to have to pay for a new bike. After we had both our bikes stolen, we joined a service called Swapfiets. Which means swap bikes. Where you paid 15 euro a month, and you got given a bike (with a blue front wheel randomly). If it got stolen or needed repaired, you would get a new bike given to you
