Really enjoyed the conversation regarding ticket prices. Totally agree with the point made about shared season tickets going forward. It would cost the club couple million to take £50 off the CL tickets, that's nothing in grand scheme of what's been earned. Short term gain means board will carry can if we have a bad spell

Alistair Simpson

Totally agree with Alex in regards to the pricing structure. I was expecting £150 and was actually okay with that. My season ticket it is up the back of CD2(can't see the screens and a pretty poor angled view on the pitch). Really annoyed at being charged £30 more than my auld man who sits in a much better seat than me in the Copland Rear. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Jane

Agree about discussion on tickets - really valued openness and honesty here. Sadly I think we are heading down a road where a lot of fans will not be able to afford a season ticket on their own.

Craig

Not feeling great about this one. Gio seemed a to have figured out how to play them by the end of last season, but we just kept letting them score first against us due to individual failures.

listening to your preview you'd think we were going to face Brazil 70 in the maracana ,you sound petrified , this is a group of players who Bodo glimt beat 3-1 away and 5-1 on aggregate ,reality check

Good point on the rangers tv experience during the covid season. I couldn’t get mine to work without buffering and ended up watching it on hesgoal

Darren Littlejohn

Guys I’ll be honest I really wish I’d read this before listening about tickets. I gave up before the preview

John

People seem happy with £150 which is the maximum most of the stadium will pay when concessions are included. The current state of the country with energy and strikes has people wanting to vent. Should an unrestricted side on view of the pitch cost £10 more than behind the goals? Probably.

All this moaning across Twitter and the pods cause we didn’t sign anyone? I honestly believe if we had brought in a ‘lindgard’ on loan no one moans. He could then be injured for the next 6 months, but it would satisfy the ‘where is my money going’. We talk about recovery and how the club needs to be on financial firm ground but then are surprised that the club are wanting as much money as possible to ensure this. Aye we would like cheaper prices. I thought the tickets in the 3rd division were too high but I still paid it cause I had fully in mind that I’m helping the club. I don’t see this as being any different. And see the next time someone says ‘the expectations at ibrox from the fans’ remember those expectations cost money. And this is an example of where you are paying more to fuel those expectations. I feel the support as a whole has sucked the joy right out the champs league with moaning about prices and then lack of transfer activity. I think we need to just see it for what it is (still in recovery mode) and enjoy this experience.

David J Leslie

I’m sure the last time I got champions league tickets for Ibrox that it was about £50 per game, so I’m not surprised at all that over a decade later it’s jumped up in price. As for new signings, we have an enormous squad as it is, just so happens about 300 of them are currently inured 🥴

Given Stewart Robertson was saying at the europa lge semi final stage " we've earned more that what we would've if we qualified for Champions lge " he's in for a shit storm should things go south in September, I actually think there's a longer term thinking to this and we're just in a bad place In regards injuries

If Helander, Roofe and Hagi had been fit in June/July, I am convinced the window would have had a very different pattern They'd either have been moved out (which for Helander/Roofe, I think at this point would be the best option, as much as I love them both) or we'd have expected to get a decent chunk of games out of them and we wouldn't have signed players like Davies/Lawrence but put the money into other areas of the team That's just the situation we were in - and yes, there is still an element of responsibility on recruiting players with known injury issues that we need to try to address but it doesn't change what's already done

JM

If we want a competitive team we have to maximise revenue - we don’t have dividends or big outgoings to investors - the alternative is to lower our ambitions for the quality level of players.

Allan Waltham

They could make the next euro game (CL or EL) if we get there, a tenner as a decent gesture.

Christopher Fair

Rangers 3 match package is the highest in the champions league.

Thank you gentlemen, really thought provoking discussions Cards on the table, I'm probably closer to Andy McGowan's economic perspective than most of the fanbase and the term "market-clearing price" did immediately spring to mind when the ticket price topic first came up The club obviously has to pay the bills and I think as a fanbase we are a little bit disconnected from the reality of what that means, and it really does concern me that people can list "We got £Xm from this, £Ym from that, £Zm from the other" and I've never seen anyone add to that "but we also lost £23.5m last year, £15.9m the year before, £11.6m, £13.2m, £6.3m, £3.3m..." The board have plugged those gaps, and even allowed those gaps to grow due to increasing transfer and wage spend (COVID obviously a factor too) as a calculated gamble to bring us back to a successful level, but it obviously couldn't continue forever Strider posed the question (and despite how this sounds, I think it's a good one) "If not this year, when can the fans ever get a break?" The board might respond "If not this year, when will we ever balance the books?" Both questions would be perfectly well reasoned Strider has articulated better than anyone else I've heard, why the first question should have taken precedence this time round. The club have been keen, and rightly so, to celebrate the effect of the support - look how keen they were for full houses against USG and PSV. If they are going to do that, and I am all for that sort of recognition, then they should value it accordingly and every so often, when there is a hint of wiggle room, invest in it

Scott Watson

On the minor matter of the game, no fear, 2-0, Scott Wright double 😄
