Nice bunnet. Wee bit sore after that, sometimes you get kicked in the balls and tonight was a night when nothing really went our way but at least the effort was there.

Rona Bluebell

Very true words there, and correct with UB. Class. I said in chief executive comments that this is a Jekyll and Hyde team. You cannot predict how they will play. Something isn’t right behind the scenes.

Zander West

Spot on, lot to be proud of tonight despite the result

Mr J K Murray

It is difficult to continually support dross at any level,

Stephen

Dross? We went toe to toe with the Serie A leaders, with both 11 and 10 men. The score is absolutely misleading. Showed the fight we've been lacking. I was proud of them.

CJT

Fair summary I think. Fans showed just who we are again tonight and players largely showed the effort and commitment requited. Most telling thing for me on the game itself was the line up in what, let's face it, was make or break for the manager as another performance like the previous 2 two would have been very difficult to come back from. The fact he played the old gaurd, some out of position, rather than the new acquisitions answers the question around who drives recruitment at Ibrox as the manager clearly has no trust in them.

Alan Cowan

Proud, I'm angry that suddenly we can show a bit of fight. What about previous games this season when we have been dreadful. Why fight tonight. Are they picking and choosing when to be bothered. There's an internal battle going on with GVB and Ross Wilson. GVB playing none of his signings is testement to that.

Gregg

No one’s forcing you to pal - maybe take a wee day off from it and see how you feel? Keep me updated. All the best

Paul fitzpatrick

Arfield MOM? His carelessness led to Sands sending off and the pen. Davis for me

KAD87

Agree on your view of the game David. Do you feel that as a support we need to accept that we weren’t in a financial position to strengthen the team any further this year?

Paul

Mind keep the zero? What happened to that. Our recruitment is a scandal.

Mr J K Murray

true but one wants Rangers to progress & we are not, tired of excuses as all I see is bad management, continually, excuse if I am awake about it,hic

KAD87

I agree with you, it’s frustrating as hell. On your point about Davies…at CB I wouldn’t drop Sands at the moment, and I would rather King was the option. More than anything, he deserves it. I wouldn’t drop barisic just now either. It’s a no win for the manager that situation…if someone asked at the start of summer what areas do we need to strengthen CB and LB would have been pretty high up the list if not at the top. Anyway, thanks for the content, at least there was fight there tonight.

Jamie

Can #99 in the background play centre half?

I think David has given a very fair, considered and truthful analysis of tonight's team & players performances and the game. I cannot disagree with anything he said, anything at all. We are in the Champions League and lets face it, with a team who aren't even Champions - of Scotland!! We are on this stage for the first time for 12 years and a huge percentage of this team / squad were at school, many at primary school the last time we trod this path. We have achieved magnificent results in Europe since Gerrard arrived, we have over achieved (rational) expectation every single year, including this. PSV!! This level of competition is ALL about money, what it buys in players, sports science support etc and sustaining club financial; stability, investment opportunity and advancement. Better Rangers teams / players from better times who 'put a shift in' or 'played for the jersey' have trod this path before and more often than not had their butts skelped. Gio went tried & tested tonight, our more warrior / combative type players - and we gave a phenomenal team, top of Serie A, who absolutely leathered Liverpool (remember - UCL runners up compared to us UEL runners up!!) a bloody good competitive game. At this level it is about very fine margins and 10 vs 11 is more than a fine margin of advantage for 1/3 of the match. Had Sands not made that last ditch tackle, he'd be getting dog's abuse for not making it. If Gio had went with a lot of new signings, or blooded kids or went more attack minded, or more defensive minded - the same voices of discontent raised about this team selection would be shouting. New signings need time to bed in, yes the jersey weighs heavy but it's light in comparison to the burden our own fans (sorry, but supporters support!) place on players. Off the back of two horrific defeats, terrible performances and highly questionable attitudes, the lads did well tonight, they fought & competed as well as they could. Certain decisions were not in our favour. Like making the UEL group stage in SGs first season - this UCL is all about entering the group stage and making the money to advance our club, players and team to be able to compete on a more equal footing at this level in the future. Listen to Mick Beale's podcast with The Gallant Few and you'll hear first hand just how vital that first (unexpected) UEL group qualification was to the rebuilding of the club & team, "enabling the advancement of the project". This is simply the next stage up of the same process. We have to be realistic and patient, certainly at this level.

David what is that hat all about lad? Lol. Love the podcast keep up the good work!
