Going to be a long season i fear

What are we trying to do in Lge games? I dont see any patterns of play, consistant pressing, switchimg of play or anything really. The players cant seem to do what Gio wants and Gio cant seem to get the players to do what he wants. Its a bad situation. We suck to be quite honest. When was the last Lge game we were really good in? An away Lge game we were good in? Its not good.

Alan Weir

Two sides lacking in pace and quality (on different levels) rather than the throwaway "confidence.

Michael Adamson

Manager should go now before it gets any worse. Dundee Hibs are mid championship level and we were trying to hold on for a win. An utterly deplorable performance from a bunch of players who are clearly finished with the manager.

CJT

Usually hate international breaks. Grateful for this one. Let's face it we've been a lot worse than this but this is as hard work to watch as I can remember. International break sometimes are good opportunities for boards to make a change. However dont think it'll be this one. Really is too early for a conservative lot like ours and he has won us silverware we haven't seen fir a while and gave us great European nights. Keep playing like this though Gio won't be here after World Cup I don't think. Too late by then people will say. Too late already I think. I do though sincerely hope this break is what we need and we're back with a bang.

Jimmy Ribshite

Looked a good start then after the first goal it was awful. What is it with the constant looking to pass backwards, a 2-1 win at home feels like a defeat after watching that and against the worst team in the league. We’re not showing league winning mentality or form and it’s worrying.

james whyte

Clancy blowing for a foul when Watt has kicked (I think) Tilman on the edge our box. Sums up Scottish refs. Terrible.

Robert White

If we don't change manager now ,it's next season. With all the excuses of a manger needing 2 or 3 windows. This team and this manager are done. That was 1984 levels today. Really Really poor spirit, application, skill...and the team is better than that. I don't think patience is the answer.

Alan Murdoch

We are missing Lawrence and Lowry massively.

Gary Shaw

Clancy actually did us a favour by not giving them that corner at the end

Tamus

Dundee Hibernian - utter Scum

Tamus

Edinburgh Hibernian - utter Scum

Tamus

Glasgow Hibernian - utter Scum

I wonder what the common link is??

2 things, Mcgregor hadn't a save to make afte United scored and dare I say Clancy had a decent game ( even the sun shines on a lazy dogs ass some days )

1) Can people remember a few things here because the panic is unreal. The board have not given Ross Wilson the money needed to buy anyone good enough to walk into the first team. Instead we have INVESTED millions into a very young promsing left back who needs DEVELOPED. A good, solid centre back in Ben Davies who at 4 million is still a cheap signing these days. That’s the amount you pay for a good squad player and that might be all he is. At 4 million, he could also be DEVELOPED and we could be the ones that bring him to find the form that got him his move to Liverpool. Iv heard his wife was diagnosed with a terminal illness. And he picked up a knock. Hence why we have not seen him. So let’s be patient with Davies. Helander was the same money. Goldson was less and he went on to be ever present in the team. Matondo is signed to be DEVELOPED and at 2-3 million that’s also a bargain buy in todays market. So that’s why he doesn’t start every game. We are DEVELOPING him. Tillman we are trying to DEVELOP in the hope we do and we can sign him at a fraction of what he would cost if we were to buy a developed Tillman Bayern. Very smart move here.

Gary Shaw

I don’t think I’ve ever felt that deflated leaving Ibrox after a victory…it’s actually hard to pinpoint what the issue is at the moment because the full team just seem to be going through the motions…if players don’t have the desire and the manager can’t seem to get a tune out of the majority of them then I don’t really see what we do from here…

Jamie Kirk

2) Sands - he’s only 22 and has been chucked in the deep end. A utility player who can play right back, centre back and holding midfield. He isn’t someone who’s a natural CB. But he’s learning the hard way and he’s given us his all. Leon king - being developed McCann - being developed. Due to the board and more so Donald Parks plan to sell the club with no debt we must see that Ross Wilson and GVB are working with a show string budget and doing their best on it. To sign a first team player who walks straight into the starting 11 for us we’re going to need to pay 7 mill plus and that’s what was quoted for evander who would have been great. But clearly the board are not issuing the funds for wilson and GVB. Therefor how can we blame them? I would say in Lawrence (free) and Colak they have actually proved to be quite good at bringing in first team bargain buys. The rest are development signings. We kept on scott Arfield and McGregor because Gio knew he wasn’t getting enough money to add a player who is ready to walk into the starting 11. With king, Lowry, McCann, Ridvan and matondo we have a group of young talented prospects who could all be like new signings to us WHEN THEY ARE READY.

Jamie Kirk

3) Unfortunately football fans have no patience and tend to not see the bigger, longer term picture. Yes we want instant success. Im sure Gio and Ross do too. But what can they do if Park and co won’t give them the money? Do you expect them to pay out of their own pockets? Donald park wants to sell rangers with no debt. He’s used the money we made to pay off all debt. After the financial turmoil we were once in then fair enough. He’s also a business man and wants to sell rangers for us much as he can. Understandably. So let’s get off Wilson and Gios back.

Jamie Kirk

4) Maybe we need to put the financial long term future of the club first this year.

Gary Shaw

This blaming recruitment/Ross Wilson etc is becoming tedious….the bottom line is we’re struggling against sides with a fraction of our budget and some teams(Livi) can’t even bring 1 single player in for a fee…we struggled today against a team with no manager, their top striker out and who lost 9 nil to the tims on their own patch…I bet DundeeUtd wish they could bring 7 players in,most of whom are internationals

Martin Davies

I accept giving King, McCann, Yilmaz, Matondo, Tillman, etc time. We are, quite rightly, signing players for tomorrow rather than today - that's the nature of the market we are shopping in, and the player trading model. The development of players needs to be a constant conveyor belt. And at this stage we should be seeing players signed in the last 3-4 transfer windows coming of age. Unfortunately our conveyor belt stalled for a good few transfer windows, and as a result we keep going back to the class of 2019. Our recruitment in 2020, 2021 and Jan 2022 was awful - there simply are no development players to come through from those transfer windows.

Jamie Kirk

But again in this market 5 million ain’t a lot. And they are players for developing. Not first teamers. I think first teamers (starting 11 players) we are gonna be spending 7 million plus these days and clearly park and co don’t want to part with this.

Jamie Kirk

Yeah tidally agree. But what if the board are not providing the money to do this? That’s my point. We can’t blame wilson and Gio if they are not being given the money to do exactly what tho have just said

Martin Davies

Jamie, I think we should have sold to reinvest. Certainly last summer. And we made a complete hash of it in Jan. The most recent transfer window isn't the issue. It's the prior 2 years that's haunting us now.

Jamie Kirk

Yeah defo. Again, I am not defending the policy of the board. It’s the board that I believe are to blame for the lack of signings and the lack of money to bring in instant upgrades to the team. I think wilson and Gio have had to work with very limited resources and I think they are taking the blame more than the board which I think is unfair. Yes, Gio and Ross are not innocent in terms of the teams performances but the board have defo not given them the tools they needed to improve the squad. But……if park is selling the club, with no debt, and with the club financially secure for generations to come then is it that bad that we suffer a little right now?

Russ

I was really hoping to see McCann take his chance today but apart from about 10 mins in the first half he looked spooked. Sorry for digging out a young player in a shoddy team performance but we all know that you don't get chances at Rangers as a youngster, when you do you need to grab it.

Darren Shaw

He needs to go the rot has set in and we’re just limping by until enough bad results forces the inevitable. Make the change now and try salvage the season.

Lynn Houston

Ok two good finishes from Colak …BUT what is going on really.. 🤷‍♀️we look like we have NO CLUE what to do with ourselves or with a football ⚽️ on the park.. Guys at top .. not doing IT !!! ❤️💙🤍If United equalise today Gio had to go imo!! Lynn Hope I’m wrong 😑

David

Had they had that corner at the end then there is a good chance it ends a draw. We scrapped that today. Every league game this year has been hard to watch. We as a loyal support deserve better than to suffer this for the rest of the season. Does anyone remember the Feyenoord fan that was on H&H when we signed Gio. I got worried from that moment on, and now I know EXACTLY what he meant. This won't have a happy ending and we need the board to step up and do what's right. BUT... I won't trust Wilson to get the correct manager and I certainly wouldn't trust the parks to get another manager in after Pedro. I'm devastated.

Jamie Kirk

Your right Stuart. Probably not the best place to discuss a serious matter like that. Hopefully the rumours not true.

Gary Brown

Thanks for your postmatch vid David. The Dundee Utd lot and their disrespectful behaviour during the minute's silence were vile. Despicable. The lot in our support abusing them during the silence weren't much better! Utd have taken a couple of tonkings in recent weeks - What do we reckon their training / tactical game plan has consisted of the past week? 🤔 Defending? Keeping things tight? Denying space, slowing the game down, breaking up play to stop fluidity and deny opportunity for the opponent to score? Aye, probably something along those lines - which is exactly what they did!! What Utd didn't do this week was play an elite European side, give their all in effort and play 1/3rd of that game a man down - then with only 1 day to recover, reset and have 1 day to analyse and prepare for the next game! We've played 4 more games than they have, over only 6 weeks. Many vital, high pressure games against top level opposition. In order to understand what the problem is all of the variables have to be considered.

Blaine Tosh

Everyone is skelping them, they don’t have a manager and we persist way 2 holding midfielders I get game management but having to take the ball into corner at home against this mob is embarrassing I can’t see the manager turning this around

David Baillie

One positive to take from this game was that we actually scored from a striker making a front post run. Every game we play there are crosses flashed across the six yard box and no one attacking them. If we as a support can see it why can’t the managers (Gerrard and Gio) see it?

Jamie Kirk

“Rangers didn’t track Liam smith all game” correct big change Rangers to Ryan Kent. Exactly the same on Wednesday v Napoli. Tav walked across to the centre of the pitch 4 times to tell Kent to tuck in and track the Napoli right winger. 4 times he was told the same thing. I know because after it happened twice I was watching for it and could see exactly what tavs point was to him. Terrible attitude from a player to have to be constantly reminded of his role. Gio should have subbed him. If Ryan Kent is not going to take his man on then there’s no point of him being on. Sakala or wright would at least have a go and work a lot harder than he is at the moment. Kent used to get away with a bad performance due to his effort. That’s gone now. An Empty jersey week in week out. I can only assume he’s doing the business in training and Gio is just being patient with him. He took his man on once on Saturday and beat his man and get got an ironic cheer. He didn’t do it again tho. Confidence is gone. I hope he recovers soon.
