Agree David, we never looked that we believed in getting anything from that game from the very start. Doesnt help when we panic on the ball and cant pass it 10 yards.

CL is a semi-pleasant distraction and not where we can measure our development. If we were smashing the league, might focus on it more, but it’s additional income in reality. Liverpool are a 400 million team. Context is everything. I just want us to beat Celtic tbh. That’s my barometer. Safe trip home.

Davie Balfour

Many teams better than us think a 2-0 defeat at anfield isn't a bad result. But the last 20 minutes shows that we have a chance at ibrox if we play to our attacking strengths. Third place is still possible with the ajax result tonight.

Gary Shaw

It’s hard to come on and moan after that….they are just several levels above us and they press and harried us that hard that even our “better” players were made to look average at best.

John Myles

Is it just my phone or is anyone else struggling to hear cammy

The manager playing Tillman out wide is pointless!! He’s a fantastic young player who is a good number 10 and due to the fact we’ve signed poorly in the summer we’re playing him out of position. Alan mcgregor, Leon king, Ben Davies, Conor Goldson and Morelos were good and applied themselves. The rest were poor.

David Gardner

Substitutes I thought done well and we need to use Sakala more especially at home in the SPL due to his goal return.

Ross Whitehead

All the subs did well. Matondo and Sakala looked especially bright. Tillman is not a RW, play him in his position and we'll get better performances from him.

David Baillie

There seemed to be a notable lack of belief in the game plan. Too many players (Tav, Borna, Lundstrum, Tillmam, Davis) appeared to be unsure as to what their roll was. That led to hesitancy, poor decision making and low confidence. Due to our injury and suspension issues the bench looked light as well. Having said that Liverpool have some world class players and a world class manager who could hurt any team even when they haven’t been at their best so far this season.

Gary Brown

Well said Rona. Context IS key - every single Liverpool player is valued at more than our entire 11 combined. Look at Brighton on Sat, been in EPL for long enough now they've earned enough money, gained enough experience and spent big / comparable money in key areas to now be able to go to Anfield and actually compete.

Gary Brown

The lads didn't look intimidated or lacking belief at the start. But as Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth" Our plan was no different to what we see almost every SPFL team do at Ibrox - and we all KNOW why they do it. We are better, they go toe-to-toe in an open game and we'll destroy them. Rangers v Ross County in SPFL = Liverpool v Rangers in UCL As Rona said, all about context!

Russ

To be fair to Gio he has handled Leon King's development really well so far. The lads still only 18 so it's good to see he isn't being rinsed by the manager, look at what Man Utd did to Elanga to see how you can burn a young player out. King deserved the praise after the match, hopefully more to come.

William

A team that went to Dortmund and won convincingly, is now a team scared and devoid of ideas. We have regressed so much under this manager

Robert White

Agree. The boldness and confidence in every European game under Gerrard AND at the start of Gios Europa run has evaporated. He's defaulted to his PSV cautious style and we are not great at it. Some might say this is harsh, it's the CL...but we won't progress at all playing as we did last night.

Rona Bluebell

Was having some banter with a Liverpool colleague today. Very friendly. They don’t see us as a competitor at all. Not even remotely. Now, if we joined that league with our support and ability to generate income, different proposition all together. That’s where someone with leadership at our club could could make things different.

Totally agree with all comment here 👍🏻
