In this week’s show, Bob MacCallum joins Alan and this week’s co-host John Cowden. 

The guys discuss, amongst other things :-

Bob’s memories of watching the legendary Rangers treble winning side of 1963/64. 

His favourite players, games and goals from not only that season, but throughout the swinging 1960s. 

Bob’s music choices from this period, whilst also sharing his musical preferences from more recent times.

What a great conversation. Brought back loads of memories of my old dad talking about his favourite Rangers team. That Dundee cup final was always the one he said he enjoyed more than any other. Heard Bob in the book show as well, really enjoying listening to him.

Great show lads. What an era to be growing up. Great music, great football and a wonderful Rangers team. I remember listening to George Davidson’s commentaries on Radio Scotland. You had to wait til 5 past 4 on a Saturday for a live feed then catch the teleprinter to see the rest of the results coming in. All accompanied with a helping of Mick McManus, Jackie Pallow and George Kidd. Glory days indeed. With regard to the Dundee treble final I still think that is my favourite Rangers strip of all time. Did we ever wear that again?

Great listen again lads. Brings back memories of my old man raving about Ralph brand . Kinks were a great band and always remember I was at selhurst Park in 89 when Wright and bright played for palace and beat Blackburn in a play off and Glad all over blasting out the PA at the end.

I loved that strip too. Also liked the early 60s European / floodlit one of white shirt with a blue and red horizontal band. Silky looking.
