Our Rangers Players #35 - Alex Stevenson (Patreon)

Alex Stevenson was an immigrant's kid, born in Dublin in the early 1900s.

He signed for Bill Struth's Rangers in 1932 and became a Scottish league winner before moving to Everton, where he spent 15 years.

An Irish internationalist for two rival associations, he was subjected to a whispering campaign of potential bigotry on either his or the FAI's half having not being selected for the Irish Free State (FAI) for 14 years, whilst playing for the IFA.  That whispering campaign haunted him for the rest of his life.

I hope you enjoy Our Rangers Player, it's been a while!  Comments and questions are welcome (in the thread or to hoggy@heartandhand.co.uk), as well as thoughts on who you want to hear about.
