Viaplay is exactly the reason why Sky came in and extended the deal. They were trying to corner the market and keep them out. Our clubs have now handed sky exclusivity until the end of the decade when Viaplay were clearly interested to get into the UK. They could easily have set up this ‘SPFL TV’ via streaming but now we’ll see the usual 40 games. So frustrating

I’m not sure how folk can get excited about Yilmaz on what we’ve seen of him so far but I suppose, as you say, our support is looking for something (anything) to get excited about.

Are we being to hard on Gio? I go back and forth. I know CL has been atrocious, but if we had lost 1-0 in Eindhoven and had a decent Europa campaign would we have been happy? He has had more injuries than I ever remember and Rangers team having going back to Souness. He's raised more money than any other manager in our history whilst quite obviously not having first pick on transfers. There was always going to be a hangover from a long European run and trying to keep close in the league. If we had a fit striker in Final he would've won us a Europa League. I truly believe that. So are we justified in the hysteria surrounding his position?

The lad looks good technically, in football intelligence and in attitude to me from the very limited gametime he has had. He attracted interest from a few good sized clubs and is considered a good prospect from the player trading model perspective. Gio doesn't seem in a rush to throw him in. I'd guess as Borna is exceeding expectations this season, lets face it most thought he was done at the end of last season and plenty voiced, very loudly, he should never wear the shirt again after Pathhead last Feb. I wouldn't be surprised if Borna was sold in Jan's transfer window, he's played his way to a decent enough move so far this season, compared to being 'spent' and apt for a lower level club if he'd gone in the summer. Yilmaz is the future. It just depends on when that starts in earnest.

Sad news about Davie Horn. Worked with him for many years in Compaq and HP. Met him at one of the games at Ibrox only a few weeks ago. He was a great guy, full of fun and laughter and will be sorely missed by all. Condolences to all family and friends. Let’s do Davie proud on Saturday with the applause on 59 mins. RIP Davie. 😢

agreed re beer at the football being miles away for Scottish football. In comparison, my kids and I ended up at RB Leipzig versus Hertha Berlin last Sunday. Huge amounts of beer flowing, great atmosphere, safe standing areas for home and away fans and no bother at all. Admittedly there were a few very scary looking cops on hand who'd get involved if anything kicked off. Very different attitudes to beer at football over there.
