John Smith

The way this board are conducting themselves and the more I hear of and look in to Kyle Fox, I’m very much in favour of this takeover. Of course, we have to make sure there are safeguards in place etc. but this could be something that takes our club to the next level.

John Smith

On the Rainbow Laces campaign, I wish the club had done our own campaign for LGBT inclusion in the same way we did Everyone Anyone. Stonewall are a seriously problematic organisation and the fact Tatchell is involved with them is a big no no for myself personally.

Gregg

Interested to hear why you are in favour of the takeover? From what I’ve heard it’s a speculative punt with no funds/ basis, genuinely interested to hear the other side of the argument

John Smith

It is a punt but it’s also ambitious. Having looked in to her background, I think she’s a credible person. Obviously these things are never certain but I believe in trusting your gut. Might be blind optimism on my part but to get back to that big time I feel we’ve got expand ourselves, media wise on a bigger scale and America would definitely do that.

Gregg

Interesting John - the worry for me is if she could raise the money, she is only the front for the investors. I’m very wary of folk with no connection to the club coming in and would rather see us run on a sustainable model.

KennyY

Well done to the Women in the sky sports cup that’s not on sky sports

Haining84

Mmm…still not convinced about this American.

John Smith

That’s always a concern Gregg. I suppose though it’s that risk/reward that comes with these sorts of investments. You look at Man City and Portsmouth for example. City got a sheik that’s turned them in to THE global powerhouse. Pompey got a fraud who contributed to their financial collapse. Definitely a gamble but one I think is worth pursuing if the people involved get properly vetted and what not.

Gregg

Aye - all about opinions. Better the devil you know sometimes

Alan M

I see she worked for both Lloyds and duff and Phelps. Coincidence I'm sure

John Davidson

Aye, let's get a disaster capitalist who was a senior figure with Duff and Phelps into the club. What could possibly go wrong? Despair at the naivety of some of our fans.

Heart and Hand

If she led an investment - she wouldn’t actually be investing herself - it’s to make her investors money, not to make Rangers successful. Our fans still assuming nice people are going to give us their money for no reason after 2012 is a worry.

David

It's a new exec board we need not new shareholders

John Davidson

Sorry but that's strawman garbage. It's perfectly legitimate to be against the involvement of shady characters like Fox whilst aspiring to more reasonable and legitimate investors without that meaning we only want money from 'nice people'. As H&H has correctly stated before, the only way people like Fox plan to make money from Rangers is by selling assets like the training ground or stadium not by fantasy schemes such as NFTs or E-sports. A blindman can see that this would be a disaster.

Robert Ryan

Isn't LGBT already covered by Everyone Anyone, just as you mention? If I'm being slightly curt, didn't one of the promos on the big screens have a slightly butch lesbian lady on it I dare say? But maybe just me!

Heart and Hand

And, sadly, plenty of our fans are still prepared to trust people without having any reason to do so if they make big enough promises.

Alphabeat

Did you forget to tell us the Women’s score or was it a ploy to get traffic heading over to watch the highlights on RTV 😄

John Smith

I think so Robert. Was just thinking we could of used that or created something new instead of partnering with Stonewall. I’m in favour of inclusion but not Stonewall as a group

Graham Jones

The Americans are just a distraction that nobody wants. They’re simple vulture capitalists hovering around the club because there are a few grumbles about the first team. Of course, those grumbles are serious, but not a reason to jump into bed with hedge funds who have no interest in building the club into a success on the park. We might have real cause to be frustrated with the current lot, but they do care about the club, on the whole. That said, they have failed to invest properly in the first team for almost two yers now. It has cost us the league, and our European reputation in the Champions League. We have made good money and spent very little, while the squad stalled. We saw a large sum of money pour into a facility that will take the best part of a decade to recoup. My concern is that nobody is driving the club forward anymore.

Donald Mackay

Rainbow laces, eh. Rangers inclusively supporting the chemical castration and surgical mutilation of children. Because that is what comes included with the T. There is no denying that. Oh, and the destruction of the very category of woman as a bonus. Genius. We have a womens’ team but we don’t care much for women. With diversity, inclusion and equity there is always someone getting crushed by the bus. But it’s only women and children. That we celebrate the fact with a press releases is lamentable. Utterly lamentable. I don’t want the old Rangers back, but the new one is just as morally compromised.

Paul Kerr

No American ownership. There's not an asset they won't sell or borrow against. Rainbow laces... Club's bolloxed either way.

David Innes

I don’t think if will happen but as a point of principle we absolutely cannot allow someone with no connection to the club acquire a 75% stake or anything like it. That’s why it’s so frustrating to me that Club 1872 has been such a clusterfuck

Donald Mackay

No, I’ll no. Regulation black for me. I’m a Presbyterian, after all 😉. I’m also eagerly waiting for Costa to stock their Monogamous Heterosexual Marriage range of travel cups. Probably a supply chain issue. But the point I made is a serious one. The T stands for things that are utterly unconscionable with regard to children, things that the men who sang the Billy Boys on the terracing for all those years would have thought sickening that the club could identify itself with. We rightly seek justice for the victims of the CBC abuse scandal but our own moral credibility with regard to the welfare of young people is utterly vitiated by our association with this. Does nobody read the newspapers at Ibrox any more. Is no one paying attention. Stonewall are no longer the ‘good’ guys. There is a growing tide of resistance and rejection to the Trans agenda in Scottish society. Football, as usual, is well behind the curve. Everyone, Anyone can have their genitals mutilated by the Scottish NHS just doesn’t have the same ring to it. But that’s what Rangers are endorsing. No evading that.

Gregg

No one reads newspapers anywhere I don’t think 🤔

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update Cammy 👍😊

John Davidson

Lol. Apologies. Should really learn not to post on here after several bevvies. Genuinely thought you were advocating the 'investment'. Suitably embarrassed and deservedly so.
