Another chastening night for the Gers in the Champions League.

Yup. Could’ve been worse, thank god it’s over. Safe journey home to all who travelled. Stay away from the bath water 🤨

No matter what Gio does, who he starts, what subs be makes, he can’t seem to get this team to give the effort required. Watching Gio try to fix our problems is like when Grandpa Simpson is trying to get Jaspers beard out of the pencil sharpener

You looked like you were struggling to muster much of anything tonight David, can’t say I blame you at all, Yilmaz looked good, the rest pretty meh but impossible to form any meanhimgfull conclusions as Napoli were in complete coasting. I’ve still no idea why Scott Wright starts tonight, but again, I’ve no real idea why he wouldn’t either, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to who starts on the RW and why. The lack of intensity and desire is glaring yet again and that is the single most infuriating thing bout this team. 3 or 4 times both Tillman and Kent jogged forward into the box while we advanced down the flanks, even when it was a stick on the ball would be coming into the box, completely unacceptable, the non negiotbles Gerrard used to call it i think.. Lundstram, Tav, pish yet gain blah, blah, blah. Safe trip home, you’ve took one for the H&H team tonight

We look a lot like the team did in 93/4, the difference is that this time we're up against a much more competitive Celtic in the league. Sacking Walter would have been a mistake then and sacking Gio would be a mistake now.

John Smith

On the bright side , At least you got a holiday to Naples David. Have a safe trip home.

See that line ‘I’ve no idea why he starts but no idea why he wouldn’t’ is an absolutely perfect description 👏

A campaign reminiscent of so many in the 90s + 00s - indeed several of those were worse. A sad return to European reality.

I agree with lots of what has been said. I thought Sakala looked bright and worked hard when he came on. Tav looks completely out of his depth. I was very impressed with how Napoli looked after the ball and played through us with speed. Excellent team and the movement of Simeone for his goals was a masterclass. Klopp said they are the best team in the world just now and he’s probably right. We looked slow and sloppy in possession again. Ridvan does look a find though. I suppose we just keep on keepin on and hope it gets better. I still think we miss Balogun at the back. If nothing else he was a fighter! Don’t worry too much folks. We are still the people!

Allan

The body language of some of our players tonight speaks volumes no matter what they may say. Too many looked like they'd rather they were somewhere else.

Yilmaz definitely and I thought Tillman were positives , 3-0 I’d have been more than happy with before the game. I don’t think it’s the step up from Europa to champions league that is the issue , the way we played in Europe last season , especially at Ibrox we would have competed in every game , finished third and not embarrassed ourselves. Three of our biggest players are terrible at the moment , Morelos would have certainly scored at least one if he was anywhere near fit , I’d sell him in jan if anyone is willing to pay any money for him , Tav and Lundstram if they aren’t carrying an injury then there’s more to worry about because Tav has been absolutely rotten in all 5 champs league games and Lundstram is like the player we would have let go to Middlesbrough on loan in jan. Onto Saturday and surely Gio last chance to turn it around , a win is the most important thing but it would be nice for the players to also actually bust a gut for him.

Safe travels home David. Have to agree with most of that assessment. I watched a clip of Ryan Kent on Twitter where he was skinning defenders for fun. Where has that player gone. It’s truly sad to watch. Morelos too, a shadow of his former self. From the clubs point of view, and if anyone is willing to take a punt on them, I think it’s best for the players and Rangers if they move on in January. I thought we had a little bit more swagger tonight than usual and dominated the ball for large periods although I accept your point that Napoli sat off knowing the job was done. Thought Tillman did reasonably well compared to previous performances but the stand out for us was Yilmaz in my opinion and he must be a starter for Aberdeen and going forward. 3 points a must with them away to Livingston.

The comment about Kent and Tillman not breaking their necks to get into their box is 1000% right…glad yo noticed this…I actually rewound it and took a video of it to send to my mates..I couldn’t believe the lack of effort to try and get a goal, especially from Kent…utterly embarrassing

Gregg

Tillman jogged about the whole first half - go and stand next to someone and mark them at least then. Suggest the wee Slovak who ran both games

Gregg

Disagree re Sakala - thought he looked like a make a wish winner when he come up. Lovely guy but he’ll never be a player for us
