Thankfully it’s over. Rangers suffer another sorry night in the CL.

Unfortunately, accurate. Again. Scunnered.

Stephen Grant

Three teams that are placed in the top 20 coefficient tables made it the hardest group in the draw arguably , but the manner of the defeats are the most worrying, never laid a glove on anyone over the piece , long hard look needed

Sandy Fraser

We ran 4KM less than Ajax again tonight. It would be really interesting to see how far we ran in the last 6 European games last season compared to our 6 group games this season.

Craig Armstrong

That has been without doubt the worst European experience to date. There should be a lot of questions for the football department to answer in the coming days, and no fluff pieces on RTV either. Relying on a successful January, which we are constantly told is not the time for wholesale changes is not a recipe for success. Those at the forthcoming AGM will hopefully have the chance to put some searching questions to the board around recruitment and forward planning which seems to have utterly failed of late, but whether the questions asked give us the answers required is something else entirely.

Billy McCormack

Europa League finalist's, to the worse European side in champions League history, fucking embarrassing.🤬

Elaine Campbell

Very well put David. Yes we were in probably the hardest group, but that is Absolutely zero excuse for not putting the effort in. We have a lot to thank this board for, but those thanks do not grant them lifelong immunity from any criticism. They have failed in their remit over the past two or three transfer windows, have taken the easy option in resigning fan favourites and in doing so have now left themselves in a position where they have an awful lot to answer for. The upcoming AGM could be very very interesting indeed.

Mark

Pure and utter humiliation.

Andrew Hind

I've never been embarrassed about rangers until now, that was embarrassing a big well done to Gio and players I'm sure the huge wages have been well earned...

CJT

Like to be positive but difficult to argue with any of that. Reap what you sow. Getting back there was always going to be seen as milestone. The events thereafter suggest it has to also be a watershed. As a club we (including supporters who want to retain favourites) need to understand that a trading model only works if you actually trade. A number of those there tonight should have been long gone long ago. I for one would understand more readily that a team in transition might struggle to find its feet than I understand watching a team left to wither on the vine. Anyway it's done. What we've learned from it will define the next phase of our journey.

Luke

Didn’t think I would ever be this glad to see us going out of Europe. Someone has to take the blame for our lack of investment in the squad. Ally crying for us to outrun them in the pre match build up, that certainly isn’t going to happen with Arfield and Davis on the pitch. The club will no doubt argue from an injury standpoint but it is their fucking duty to sign players who aren’t injury prone.

Tamus

When we won 55 JT should have been punted for as much as we could have gotten for him, and Nathan P should have been promoted and developed and sold 5 years down the line, that's the way the model is supposed to work. But no, we get £12M and reinvest fuck all and give a 31 year old a contract extention - jesus wept

CRAIG CASSELLS

Sum up our 6 CL group matches: Humiliatng & embarrassing due to a huge inferiority complex.

Luke

I love Tavernier and everything he has done for us but god help us if he sees out all of his contract as a starting player.

Tamus

This is out 150th year, it was supposed to be massive, instead the board tied GVBs hands behind his back, charged the fans £71 for a CL game and gave us the heaviest home defeat in our entire history and the worst CL results of all time. But all not lost we git a really shit painting full of mistakes and a Champions wall. Yaaay

Rob Whiteford

We need box to box athletes in midfield. One difference between us and the sides outclassing us is that they move intelligently as a total unit. We used to do that , but now the press looks like they’ve never met each other.

AGS

Should’ve waved goodbye to Tav after 55 and let him have a crack at the EPL (would’ve got a club if free): instead an extension to his contract and got rid of Paterson; we’re stuck with a player past his peak and got rid of a rising star. We have totally fucked this ‘player trading’ model and kept guys too long. Morelos and Kent should’ve went last season: the young players should’ve been brought through instead of throwing in. Gio doesn’t have a clue: the board won’t bin him as they are still wanking over the bank balance

Peter Hosie

We had a chance to try salvage some pride tonight and it lasted 3 fkn minutes. £180 for that is shameful.

Douglas Hannah

No shape tonight all over the shop mandatory losing quick goal put us on the back foot, get Ajax are on another level but embarrassing displays all over the park. The Morelos miss summed the whole campaign up, Tavernier is getting ran into the ground and that’s on GVB. The board scalped the support price wise for these packages and I hope they get roasted at the AGM. Anyone still think Ross Wilson is doing a good job?

Craig McRoberts

Despite the bad performance- I thought James Sands (22) and Leon King (18) played very well considering, brought the ball out when they could and tried to play. Davis and Arfield gave what we expect- no composure, control or legs in midfield. Tav basically left defenceless due to Sakala not being adept enough to understand when to cover. Kent MOTM. Didn’t hide, beat his man most of the time. We played poorly but should have scored 2 (morelos miss) and could have had 3 (Bassey goal line clearance).

chris smith

The board must be very happy that they got their money back I suppose. Top season for them …

Gordon Millar

It worse than that, he is now a liability and in any other commercial field he would be relieved of his duties for this level of mismanagement. Running down the clock on saleable assets is the opposite of what the remit is, I would have thought. His only mitigation is that he must have the backing of the board or there is a grand plan, yet to be revealed...

Angus Mackay

I'm glad that's over. The campaign has been a perfect storm of a burnt out squad that's beginning transition, being hit with terrible injuries and put in pretty much the worst group imaginable. Lots of players that we love and have done us proud in Europe are done at this level. No excuses or room for sentimentality in the summer (I think they'll all recognise that themselves), we have to move on and rebuild the middle properly. And that very much includes Jack who just cannot be counted on to be there when we need him. The manager now has to get to the World Cup without loosing further ground. If he does so, it will be the crossroads of his Rangers career. He either resets and pushes the team on to league victory or he fails and we part ways. It's that simple. He had a lot of credit in the bank for Europe last season, but a lot of that is spent now, but the league is non negotiable. There are promising signs, but not a few concerning ones too. He needs to address those quickly, because the other lot will be out of Europe on their own backsides tomorrow and it'll then be a straight shootout for the only domestic honour that really matters. I still hope he does it. I'll still be cheering both him and the team on,

David Harrison

Think you’re the one that doesn’t have a clue… bids never came in for Morelos or Kent so how should we have sold him? Also, every Rangers fan was saying that selling Patterson for 12m was outstanding business, but now Tav has been playing through an injury and having a tough time in the champions league, we’re back to scapegoating him again. Terrible.

Greg

Colak was hopeless, Morelos offered far more when he came on.

Gary Shaw

Our shape is absolutely terrible compared to the Gerrard era…from my vantage point in the Copland Rear it’s embarrassing to look at to be honest…Ajax players all moving in unison with each other and doubling up on players all over the pitch the way we used to do ….You look at us and there’s just gaping holes everywhere, certain players not tracking runners and players standing next to or behind an opposing player knowing fine well they’ll not be able to receive a pass…it’s so grim and I’m not sure how this gets fixed in the short term

KAD87

4km divided by 10 players. 400m each over 90 minutes…really don’t know what is shocking people about this stat. We had a combined age in midfield of 71….

Sandy Fraser

There’s a correlation between distance covered and success hence why we see the stat shown on screen towards the end of a match when a player is being taken off or they go out the way in the studio to name certain players who covered huge amounts. I think what is shocking people so much is the comments that we have de-emphasised running and fans can see the difference from last season.

George Harrison

You are having a laugh ! Colak has been our best player this season, and to compare that lazy lump of lard with him is ludicrous ! Colak made some good runs into decent positions but it’s not his fault that his teammates couldn’t provide decent service. It’s time you got over Alfie …. he’s a rotten apple who has a negative impact on the squad and should have been punted 2 years ago !
