Zero leaders. Our squad is a joke. Esp midfield. Cant do the basics. Pathetic. This team have constantly froze when they were needed to perform and it will keep happening. Beat sheep, great..Fold again Ajax. Beat Hearts, fold.against Livi and so on. 40 year old keeper..37 and 34 centre mids. Joke. Ach, cant be arsed. P.S, the squads a joke.

When the manager continually says we can't compete what is the point!? Ridiculous attitude

Dougie

Would you trust the current manager with “the money” in January??

Aatlis

Bit of a Scat er gun approach David.

That’s a good observation about the players looking like they had won a raffle to get into the competition - they were there on merit but didn’t play like it at all. Their collective mentality is ultimately on them as individuals but it doesn’t help when their manager goes in front of the world after game one and tells them that his squad can’t compete.

Gordon Millar

Agree gents we failed to do the basics.....its a managers job to do the best with the resources he has, granted they are limited.....but the lack of organisation, determination and collective will is palpable with this group.....players deciding to play should not be a thing, if you have a manager who runs the team and the dressing room......Scott Wright as a 10, that beggars belief.....what an insipid performance amongst many.

What were the subs about? Same as against Livi? Just flinging on attackers for the sake of it. Very Pedro. Worrying.

Agree. Shambles mate. Our whole squad is full of failures. People keep arguing with me but how many seasons are this lot allowed to keep throwing away Lge leads and wasting Cup chances.

Thanks for the pod guys - some really well balanced comments and some pretty downbeat, more downbeat than it should be. Rangers aren't a Champions League team, haven't been in it in over a decade and even waaay back when better Rangers teams with bigger stars than this played in it they made stupid mistakes, basic errors, were naive and were severely punished for it - continually, over the last 30 years! We have learned, often the hard way with naivety, silly mistakes & basic errors these last 5 years in the Europa League and we have then progressed, competed and advanced. This is no different a task We have had the harshest of tests, and lessons, in this group. It has shown these teams are simply above the skillset & mindset of our own - at this point! We learn and try again.

The crisis of confidence started with that monstrosity at Parkhead. What happened after that flowed from how they played that day. The real damage to the club goes deeper, which we probably need a few days to clear our heads a bit for. There is a lack of leadership at the very top, and a lack of clear understanding of what is required for us to reach the levels required for the Champions League. We all knew deep down before the season kicked off that this squad wasn’t anywhere near those levels, but we just wanted to pretend after the PSV win that it would be alright. It isn’t. It just isn’t.

Pretty down about all this. The CL was going to be such a glorious return for us. Could we lose all 6 games? Sure, but let's get some decent performances at home and you never know, maybe a draw or whisper it a win could be in the offing As its stands it is an embarresement. You get €15.64m in prize money for reaching the group stage and then you get add ons, we leave the competition with the minimum we could earn and the worst CL performance in history. I honestly thought we could not stoop lower than the mid 90's where we were regularly cuffed in the CL group stages. This psychological damage that has been done to this team since last seasons thumping at parkhead is just unreal. Every big game since then we freeze, I include the europa league final in that. We rode or luck against frankfurt (who have qualified from their CL group section with €34.6m so far btw) we then settled in, played well, took the lead and then panicked about what to do next. Scottish Cup final was the same, with an eventual different outcome.

We all keep keep talking about the WC being a reset and allowing us to get the players on the training ground and working through the issues. The reality is that half of our squad will still be injured or recovering from injury, and won't be spending huge time on the training ground. Guys like Morelos and Kent aren't suddenly going to find their mojo, Davis, Arfield and McGregor aren't going to roll back the years. I'm really worried about our restart late Dec. We urgently need reinforcements in Jan and not at the end of the window either. And I say this not purely with designs on 22/23 season, but the following season too - we are looking at 20+ player turnover this summer and the more work we do in Jan, the easier that will be.

Piggott

Get rid of gio now, I hate to say it but we are never winning league under gio so make change now to at least give someone else chance of winning league

Heart and Hand

We simply cannot waste Jan window because you’re right, we have too big a rebuild job for just one window.
