After Ramsden's Cup and Scottish Cup defeats all Rangers had to play for in April 2014 was an unbeaten League record. It was achieved although not many fans took much satisfaction.

Am I right in saying Danny McGrain was a Rangers fan ?

I do wonder if people like him still have a part of them that wants the club to succeed

Well done, David and Rob, on a good podcast. That season was such a grind. That week in April with the 2 successive cup defeats was the absolute pits. Both of you saw the unbeaten league record as meaningless. I would see it in the same way as winning the Challenge Cup. When we won it in 2016 the achievement was derided, but when we failed to win it the previous 3 seasons the team was slaughtered. The number of points dropped in SFL3 was a source of serious criticism so to have 33 wins and 3 draws in a season at least deserved a modicum of credit. A vague parallel with the invincible league season which is valued - I think most Bears would have happily accepted a couple of defeats in the final games if we had won the Scottish Cup and/or reached the Europa League quarter finals. After the binfires v Slavia and Saint Johnstone the landmarks of 100 points and an unbeaten league season both became very important to me - I didn’t want an historic season to peter out and end in an anti-climax.
