John was born in 1967 and lives in Adelaide, Australia.  However, he joins Hoggy to talk about his Rangers life, his first exposures to Rangers and what it's like to be an Aussie Bear.

In between times, he moved to London - but there is heavy focus on 1980s trips to Europe whilst working on the trains.  Especially to Poland and Romania during the Cold War!  A fascinating insight!

I had friends who went to some of these games from the London branch,Bucharest and Katowice being two of the most talked about trips. They went independent to Bucharest so actually booked a skiing holiday because they couldn’t get into the country otherwise. Arrived with no ski gear and were given a” minder” who shat himself on the day of the game when they all disappeared to the football, poor chap probably ended up cleaning toilets for years afterwards. Like John said they couldn’t spend the zlotys so were buying everyone in the bars their dinner. Wish I had gone to Poland in those days not so sure about Romania.

Great show chaps. Always love listening to Johnny’s experiences of following the Gers. A great Bluenose who’s still as staunch as ever.
