Great pod gents. Wee point I would make on Kevs ideal first 11 and McCoist being a flare player, I take his point in general but McCoist is a warrior and absolutely a winner with the same mentality as the ‘hard’ players. His fight and black arts were under rated due to his ‘lucky’ finishing! Kev 100% spot on about Arfield, for me just too wasteful and when chances are at a premium I would prefer a more clinical attacker. Agree in attitude and effort but year on year he’s a bit slower and this year for me is one too far. I would take the chance to get rid of Kent, Morelos, Arfield, Sakala and would definitely move on Borna. Kent just can’t live off this intangible thing he allegedly brings, we can get a guy to run and take people On who can ALSO score a bit these are not mutually exclusive talents! We have convinced ourselves Kent can’t be replaced and his goals aren’t important, increasing our goals across middle to front to spread the load and increase our threat must be a priority. Morelos has had all his chances for me, any money would be good money considering his original price. Kamara just has a poor attitude and regardless of ability you won’t get much from a player like that long term. Great discussion, all great points. Alex spot on with managers expectations of players. One thing I would say, we need to realise teams see us a chance of scalp these days. Nobody regardless of how they are playing doesn’t think if they get into us and catch us off guard they can turn us over, potentially so so our players. We need to accept we are not currently feared and the freedom teams get from seeing us a free hit that just might kick start their form can’t be underestimated.

I don't think we can ever close any market off, but I suppose the question still exists regarding talent from there being effective long term.

Interesting debate on ‘leaders’. Be interested to get Steven’s take on his away game point - are the opposition noticeably noisier than us or is it a generational thing. I stopped playing football about 3 years ago and the young lads were all very quiet in comparison to us old boys - shitey amateur level

Steven mentioned tav having played a lot of football for justification in potentially selling him. The converse is he didn’t play a lot of football up to mid twenties so doesn’t have the same miles on the clock as a lot of players his age. We should have plenty savings on wages going out next summer - added to bumper accounts again - we shouldn’t need to get rid of our captain

With regards to Matonto. Who's the last speed merchant who has excelled in the Scottish Prem...... Ivan Sproule?? It's bad scouting strategy imo. We're going after this type of player who obviously does not fit in to our league and our tactics.

Love the preview as always, disagree with the Belgian league point. Look at how well Club Brugge have played in the champions league. Plenty of attacking players have gone on to thrive outside of Belgium

Great pod , In regards selling players with 6 months on contracts these players would probably want paid up in full but primarily on Morelos and Kent given their age 25/26 both would want improved terms have both done enough to get improved terms ? Ps don't think Alfie will re-sign and given the money Kent will want we don't get enough of a return in the stats that count for attackers and thats goals. Merry Xmas lads

Good pod guys. Lot of sense. Beale has taken over an utter mess, we've been really poor the last two matches but, even as the players say, doubt we win them pre WC. It's an odd time as we desperately need a revamped squad but Jan is a hellish time to try that and quite frankly we don't have the funds. Merry xmas lads.
