Gutted after that one. Should have won. No idea why we brought on so many defensive subs with 10 minutes to go. Also not sure why we brought on wright and put sakala up top instead of Colak or Roofe. Oh well, on to the next one.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

I’m raggin at that. Shows how much we need to get rid of half that team!! Tav was shocking. I’m sick of Rangers managers not having the balls to drop someone because they are captain!!

Colin Mathie

Time to concentrate on the cups, cause after that shitshow the league is done.

Scott Tolmie

I’ll say it again, cliff, tav, fell off

David Campbell

Gutted tbh we dominated that 2nd half and should of had the 3pts. The league was always a long shot today was about more than that for me. I wanted to see a team that could get back to competing with celtic. Once the first went in previously we would've collapsed. I hated that we sat back in the final stages but I genuinely think the team was knackered. It'll take a proper 6 week pre season to get levels back. We take the draw and go onto united next week. Our manager is still unbeaten v that mob in I doubt know how many games but that's another small positive.

Bob MacCallum

Guys, 1st goal - Tav DID get the ball ahead of Maeda then did a weak pass to Goldson who should have booted the ball away but Maeda got past him to score. Shocking play. Lundstram startrd it by losing ball then Morelos pass then Tav and Goldson. Time to stop making excuses for Tav. League games now unimportant so start giving Devine games in his PROPER position.

Gary Shaw

The first goal is a comedy of errors but Morelos’ lazy pass without even looking is criminal and he does that far too often….Tav was poor and Barasic has the heart of a mouse….but for me the player that riled me more than anyone, and I’m surprised that more people haven’t brought up is Tillman…I haven’t seen a player that needs so long on the ball, almost invites opponents onto him…numerous times there was an easy pass on but time and time again he just held onto it then would try to worm away from about 3 players then inevitably lose it

Norm

2nd half performance restored a wee bit of pride (a wee bit). Better decision making in the 2nd half in final 3rd and we win this game. Same old same old with their 2nd goal though.

John Johnston

Not the worse result but 5 games undefeated under Beale is a positive. Still 2 cups to play for and second half of the league season is about improving performances, giving gametime to Lowry and Devine and hopefully getting a couple of players in this month. Again a clearout is required this month and at the end of the season.

Lewis Wardrope

At times in the first half we were playing long balls. And that’s fine, it really doesn’t matter if Morelos or their defenders win the 50/50 aerial ball. It’s the second ball that killed us. Hatate would take the second ball down with 10/15 yards of space. Second half we started much better and got back into the game, but the subs were the killer. They bring on Jota & Abada, who walk into our side. We bring on (with the greatest of respect): Wright, Sands and Jack to try and see it out. We have a good 11,12,13 players. But scratch below the surface and we are struggling. They have quality in depth, and it really pains me to say that

Gregg

On a day when we didn’t play to our best - we created a huge amount of chances and conceded very few. The players should take some confidence from that - though standards need to raise. Not surprised by some of the negative comments - seems as a support we have folk who are just permanently raging and lacking any balance. Must be exhausting.

Andrew Hind

Should have beaten that lot today, we were all over them then decided to sit back, when we should have kept up pressure, gutted that was a chance to keep slim title hopes alive

Gregg

Glad you have got over your weird obsession wi that wee polish right back Bob - Devine is way better. Happy New Year

Rod

Alex is dreaming if he thinks anyone would have taken a draw at any point. It was win or bust and everyone knew it, mental gymnastics to try and put a tiresome positive spin on another shit result.

Doug Young

Alfie wasn't the worst but yes, spurned chances. His pass was poor but Tav did get there first and his pass back to Goldson was just pish. Disappointed but disappointed that when we got in the lead, we went to no strikers and stopped doing what we had done to get ahead in the first place. I will never understand that. They were there for the taking.

Angus Mackay

TBF to the manager, Tillman, who had been brilliant, was out n his feet. In hindsight Arfield would maybe have been the better sub, but generally James Sands is better at looking after the ball. Not really today tho. Wright, ye... No harm to the lad, but he played today like a player who knows that his chance at Rangers has passed him by. A shame.

Angus Mackay

He is having a stinking season. No-one should be undroppable, no matter what they've done in the past.

Angus Mackay

I don't think we need to patch the captain altogether (although he's having a shocker of a season). But we definitely want to see more of Devine in his proper position, that's for sure.

Bob MacCallum

Gregg, we don't know how good the Polish guy is because he was never given a chance. I'd bring him back now and SEE one way or the other. League games immaterial now so give him / Devine a run at it. Why is our captain's place sacrosanct? I'd say practically ANY half-decent right-back would thrive in our system and given the space and time he'd get. Plus, once fit, Yilmaz has to play the rest of the season.

Pedro

Who on earth would have taken a draw in the first half? It was a must win game for goodness sakes.🤣 Sakala was our biggest threat but it is always just leathering the ball whatever way he is facing. Too wasteful. A sickener not to win today but a vastly improved performance in the second half. Sadly we're not winning a league if we have the likes of Wright and Sands finishing games. Agree with Alex about hoping it was a stonewall penalty haha

David McBurney

See if you want Tav to do one just come out and say it but for me when he got the knock to his nose and he continued to go forward. Captain my captain

David McBurney

Some Warners on here need to get a grip. From 30 minutes onwards we showed more desire more passion than I've seen since 55. I'm sakhalas biggest critic but his second half performance was peleesque

Douglas Hannah

Poor first half, far better 2nd half, cracking goal from Kent, stonewall penalty, brilliantly taken by Tav, should have went 3-1 up, need see chances again but thought Morelos should have buried both. Cannot believe I’m seeing folk slate Tillman, one guy in the team with a bit of magic to open teams up, not everything came off but you can see what he brings, get Lawrence and Hagi in and he excels. Good hear Beale say he’s looking for 2 or 3 in this window, guys had 5 games and after the shitshow he walked into he’s done just fine.

David Bold

Genuinely cannot believe how that is viewed as a positive result. What has happened to Rangers Football Club. I will never accept being the 2nd best team in Scotland. Clearout required at Rangers and H&H.

Tamus

Big Alex on the propranolols again. No one wanted a draw. You're allowed to be fuqt off big man, it doesn't always have to be pink clouds and rainbows - we utterly made a c**t of that today due to captain catastrophe and Beales horrific sub choices

Cameron Bell

Mate we were too lax with the ball in the first half, and we didn’t punish enough when we took the lead. Plays lack of fitness at subs. I hate them and want to beat them as much as the next person, but we didn’t do enough to get the victory for a number of reasons.

Cameron Bell

Do you accept losing the league from a winning position? Getting battered at Parkhead? Sacking a manager after a year? No one has to be happy, some need to be realistic

Ally Mair

Really david bold ! Clearout at H&H what utter nonsense I’m hoping that was toungue in cheek or simply cancel ur subscription, the guys always give a balanced viewpoint

CRAIG CASSELLS

With his subs our manager managed to grab a draw from the jaws of victory. If there is one thing you can guarantee from this Celtic side is a late goal when needed and Beale helped faciltate this with his negative substitutions of Sands and Wright (if Gio had done this we'd never have heard the end of it). Tillman had a shocker, as good as a man down, which was my concern pre kick off.

Gordon Millar

Sorry guys can't believe you are defending our captain he has been poor this season, I personally think Seville has been a mental and physical drain on him this year, understandable but do something about it....all about opinions of course, but he and Morelos are complicit in the 1st goal and their winger done him at the 2nd.....please call out the fact that at 60 mins we chose to sit back and if we as a support and you guys as pundits are honest their 2nd goal was in the post......I get that we are a work in progress (yet again) but we simply are not good enough at this moment in time to hold on to a lead....

KAD87

I agreed with Alex, it’s not all negatives. Obviously we are disappointed to not get the win but looking at bigger picture: - our squad is nowhere near as good as theirs - we are bang out of form and confidence - they are at the top of their cycle and we are at the bottom of ours We played with some fight, should have been able to see it out but were absolutely on our arse.

Declan Cairns

Never would I take a draw against them. Regardless of any score at any point. We had to win and we didn’t. Simple as that imo

Gregg

David needs to ask why we’ve no man on the thrower at shys - or I’m cancelling my subs.

Gregg

So, when we were four down at the San Giro you wouldn’t have taken a point?

Gregg

Nope - so any time we are a goal behind with seconds to go you’re saying you wouldn’t accept a draw? Think this is nonsense tbh

Declan Cairns

Don’t have to be snide about it but do you? You takin a draw in that case when we’re the ones ahead with 2 minutes to go til the 90th minute?

Al H

Mystified with subs. Hoping Beale has bigger ideas for the future.

Gregg

Just pointing out the flaws in your uber staunch patter

Declan Cairns

How is it Uber staunch to point out that not winning a game that you have to win when you’re leading in the 87th minute should not be accepted because ‘well we were behind 45 minutes ago so we all would be happy with a draw’ honestly

Ally Mair

The subs were poor but let’s face it we hold on for another few mins and no one’s talking about the subs so let’s not go down the road of Beale doesn’t know what he’s doing , we were properly under strength barely any confidence compared to that lot who have lost 1 in 19 and battered us twice in recent games yet we were a few mins from beating them

David Bold

I do not accept losing the league last season or any other season. I do not accept, under any circumstance, getting demolished by Celtic. Although I wanted GVB sacked, we are still working with the same group of players who have continually shown that they are below the standards required at Rangers. I will never accept being 2nd place to Celtic. My mentality was established during my first game in 1989. Rangers. Win. Trophies. No excuses. The wonderful Dominant series by Martin captures my mindset perfectly. This is all I know and I will not accept anything less.

David Bold

Mr Harrigan should be appointed as the Overlords chief lieutenant. He gets it. Beale out. Harrigan in. IMO.

Cameron Bell

Fair enough, having a go at podders having to record shows immediately following an OF game which we should’ve won ISNT acceptable.

Gregg

The coaches know how good he is Bob and he’s playing for B team in the Polish second (who were mid table last time I checked). He also wasn’t getting a game for our B team. The coaches see the players most days - the fact he’s gone suggests he’s not good enough. I know you don’t like tav but he has enough credit in the bank to play through this - though it can’t be unilateral. Agree re yilmaz - looking forward to seeing what he can do

Gregg

I think it was a positive performance rather than result - the first 30 minutes aside. It was much improved on some of the previous league performances - whilst still think we can and will play better. Performances and results don’t always marry up - but continued improved performances will lead to improved results in the long run.

Dougie

Big Strider sounds cool as fuck 🤷🏼‍♂️😎👍🏻

Graeme McLeod

The subs were Beale trying to "hold on" for the last ten minutes. He's been involved in Old Firm games when Gerrard tried that approach unsuccessfully, and should have seen enough from how this game to know that's not the correct approach. The way you hold onto that lead isn't to sacrifice attacking options for defensive players - removing Sakala from the right wing where he was troubling Celtic in the process - it's to continue to press them. If Arfield was fit enough to be on the bench, he should have been brought on before Jack or Sands.

C. J

I’d be happy to see the back of Tav, Borna, Kamara, Morelos, McGregor, Wright and Sands. Dead wood. Get them punted.

C. J

Shocking signing by Wilson. Dreadful replacement for Patterson.

Berra

What should beale do then gordon?Drop him and play devine for the rest of the season?

Spoon

We seem to have become used to mediocrity. We have guys who underperform year on year that people still defend, we are now impressed when we see some effort and cohesion and the fact no fan can agree on who is good and who is gash is a snapshot of how inconsistent the team is. For me the set up or instructions (or the players ignored them) at the start seemed to be giving them an extra player in every section of the park. Yes we got a grip and started making passes but surely we expect that from any squad ? Again we seem happy to focus on chances made more than chances taken in a tartan armyesque excusal of just bad finishing across our front line. Same old same old you could say with the guys we continually bank on and who continually let us down. I was impressed by Tillman who I thought did very well given his age and the ask on him but it was no surprise he had to go off as he was knackered. Defence was decent for most of game but again showed that fragility that has cost us. Kamara for me was woeful, rarely made a tackle, constantly wrong side and hardly found a man with a pass. Sure someone can tell me one piece of play he had but overall gash. Morelos worked hard but lacks the quality he showed for his 18 month golden spell. Kent scored the goal that will justify his retention for another season and it will continue to have an output of about 6 goals a season. Hopefully the end of his free role as he did all the good stuff out left. Sakala had a decent game no more, for every good thing he did he fluffed something easier and I’m not a fan of his chaos tbh, he’s another guy who can’t shoot as a forward yet we fluctate between him being mercurial and just merde. I didn’t think Tav was half as bad as folk make out, he was positive made some good tackles blocks and bar a spell did fine. The talk around subs seems strange, Sands and Wright have work rate and follow instruction. Sands had some decent interceptions and forward passes, Wright was clearly told to just run at them and he did. Overall the same issues remain, this squad isn’t good enough, these players are fragile at the core. As someone who isn’t as impressed with the ‘Beale turnaround’ it was a game we could have seen anytime in he last few years, some horrors, some decent play, some players just not up to it. That’s not me saying I don’t like Beale or won’t give him a chance I’m just saying we seem desperate to over hype early with managers or players or equally slate them based on very very little. Things have stabilised but we are a long way off any corner being turned for me. Need more realism and less sentimentality or faux staunchness.

Heart and Hand

Fans don’t. They can be as sentimental or staunch as they want. It’s the decision-makers who need the clarity.

Gordon Millar

Not saying its an easy position but no-one should be immune from sitting out, even if its just to recharge the batteries. He has an option to play Devine for a month, rest Tav and allow him to recover, as I recall he came back after an injury lay off with Patterson covering and hit his best form.....I think Beale is restricted but wants that competition for places. Appreciate not everyone will agree with me.
