If they were players being targeted for the summer, then it makes sense. Not sure I really care what they did against Liverpool U-21’s, but my Steve that’s all Beale could recall about them. I do think Davies is an outlier, though. He was a player Ancelotti liked in his team, but the injuries concern me. Can’t recall the boy at Norwich that much from his time in the EPL. It does concern me that we still lack any real Scottish identity within the squad. Having said that our league isn’t rich in young Scottish talent. Apart from Doig and Nisbet. I think Nisbet is from the dark side though.

Can't expect a strong Scottish backbone from a coaching staff who are all English or at least have spent their career there, with only Beale having any experience up here - and even then Gerrard's Rangers team preferred giving chances to English academy lads. We've gotten that from previous managers because they understood the league. English players and coaches, by and large, will always underestimate it and assume anyone half-decent down south will be good enough up here. And that's not the case.
