Ice docking and lisa stansfield look it up.

Simon

Fence posts do not face into your garden. They go between both gardens so you can use both sides of the posts for both gardens. The fence is yours.

Charlie Nicolson

Ask about the fence, it provides content for future shows

Simon

Get chapping their door and ask what’s happened with the fence.

Norm

Are the posts intact? They are usually concreted in and if it blows down the fence will be damaged. If they've taken it down deliberately the posts would still be standing?

ian laird

chap their door i’m sure they wouldn’t take afence…….😜

David Taylor

Sounds like Colin has taken offence at the neighbour taking a fence!

Simon

Gregg

Listening to the fence chat - I was feeling nostalgic for the smoke alarm

Ross B

Jack cheers for the Happy Valley recommendation, started and caught up with it in last couple of weeks. Great program but definitely grim.

Hoggy

It’s really not Colin’s fence. But I say “IT IS”. Colin should definitely confront the neighbour properly rather than passive aggressively where he my see it. And record it. We all deserve that.

Simon H&H

He needs to man up and speak with the neighbour like he was advised

LD

The fence "belongs" to the house who's land the posts are on. Find out where the boundary line is, and what side the posts are on, that's who has responsibility for the fence. Have you considered the fence fell down and all the neighbours have done is tidied it up.

Johnnie Mitchell

In tears here with the FF story of the guy shitting himself out the walk. 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻

Paul Kerr

😂Fencegate is a brilliant double entendre. Depends who's side of the property line the fence posts are on. The only way to know for sure is your deeds. You should stand on his doorstep screaming "show us the deeds!" and film it as per Hoggy's suggestion. I will say though the posts should go on the inside so the fence forms the boundary and if it's high it stops people from climbing it. Jack I reckon that neighbour tried to con you and it didn't work, that's why he didn't like you.😂

G

If the fence post are on your side it’s your fence. Otherwise you’d be digging holes on your neighbours side to put the posts in.

Jack Shaw

The fence chat was about 10 minutes too long

Martyn Dick

Fencegate: imo if fence slats are facing your side = your fence. Surely No one builds a fence and puts the fence slats on the neighbours side?? 🤷🏻

Gordon Rennie

Hahaha I was checking my alarms.

Declan MacDonald

First time listening to this show on here. Different class! I’ll be tuned in every week now!

Martin Davies

Thought you might find the FF thread entertaining!

Neil Wilson

Have you checked your Title Deeds or Title Sheet for your property? It covers the definition of what's your property and rules and burdens on your house.

Steven L

In Loyalist West Lothian…. If you have a nice side of a fence it’s your fence.

Jack Shaw

There are much better shows in the archive - anything with Martyn or Caroline!

Scott Cochrane

Re fence-gate; normally mutual when dividing between to pieces of land especially if no other fence put up. Generally rule of thumb is correct re positioning of fence post & who has the nice side, but that only counts if you or they put a separate fence up a foot or so either side of original fence, but in saying that, it doesn’t mitigate maintenance liability for the original installed fence which will be on the diving boundary land.
