David describes a crazy day at Ibrox!

Ross Malcolm

Anyone ask where your Alex lowry was today?

Russ

I think the corinthian spirit is long gone David, but I do honestly believe Beale takes stock in the standards and values that WE hold and acted on that. Might be pish to some but you've got to respect it.

McCall just been sacked !! wat is sportsmanship worth these day's?

James McConnachie

How can Scottish football not get a decent TV deal? Why are we trying to sell the game and not the petty, hate-filled madness that surrounds it? Here’s my pitch: 1) A manager who once upon a time did a poo in a shoe gets the bullet after his team allowed to score a sympathy goal. 2) One of the top division’s better managers is a convicted Class A dealer and money launderer. His team plays on chav grass that seems to contradict newtonian physics. 3) The Ross County manager’s favourite comedy is Roots. 4) The Aberdeen manager had to escape out the back of Easter Road while his chairman bawled his eyes out on TV. 5) The country’s most successful team over the last decade believes that they are the victims of a masonic conspiracy that’s limited them to 11 out of 12 championships. 6) They all hate a club they say is dead but continue to post, watch and phone in about said club (which they paradoxically claim isn’t there any more). In fact, this takes up more of their time than stuff regarding their own club.

Like when he fuqt off like a thief in the night with stevie snake?

The way that mob booted our players up and down that park I would've laughed in their faces at any suggestion of a sympathy goal. Maybe if they'd played with a bit more sportsmanship, but they didn't. The behaviour of the thugs who shoved Tillman to the ground and surrounded him with abuse after booting him up and down the park, deserves nothing but contempt. Maybe one day we will have a footballing nation where referees actually protect footballers by punishing the jobber hatchet men. Until then, we will have to be twice as good as everyone else to win this league, as we always have had to be.

John McTrusty

Will we see retrospective disciplinary action for the physical assault on Tillman? In a misunderstood scenario about the play, the intentions and the sportsmanship, it seems fair game to allow a young talent , who evidently has no malice in his mindset, to be manhandled and thrown to the ground by 3 Partick Thistle players in full view of the referee and VAR officials. Will the club, the Manager, the SFA or Police Scotland have anything to say about this? Duncan Ferguson got the jail for less. I am fine with how we handled the event of the goal and the resulting free hit....but not at all with how our player was abused by his opponents. Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment...

I'm quite worried that the media circus that follows us (created by others) is influencing Beale's decisions now. He said he didn't want the story to be about Malik's goal.. meaning his thinking about how we are represented in the rags and adjusting for it, which isn't a good position to take in my opinion

Graham Jones

The Partick penalty comes as a direct consequence of the club allowing to referees on a podcast to imply that the referees should be giving penalties against us in the box, even when the law states we have done nothing. This is down to the club no longer having an effective media department. The one person who could push back against this left, and he’s now sorely missed. Come to think of it, he’s sorely missed on heart and hand as well. David Graham had the Scottish media by the balls, and now they are getting their claws into the club again. This has to stop. The only person that has been able to direct the media at times has been the manager, but that’s not really his job.

There’s not a single team in Scotland that would’ve done us the same courtesy as we did Thistle yesterday. Let’s not forget that play was stopped in the first place because of a horrific stamp on Tillman. One of many horrific challenges that went unpunished yesterday. Constant fouling, constant afters, constant time wasting, all combined with the usual shocking refereeing performance that is supposed to protect players. I don’t know why we decide to reward that behaviour with any kind of decency. Just seconds after we let them score the equaliser, the away fans are giving it the zombie arms dance. That’s what Scottish football thinks of us and always will. They’d see us dead and buried in a heartbeat.

David Taylor

Sportsmanship in Scottish football is a peculiar thing, it’s never really mentioned when a player stamps on another player, or when a player dives, when players waste time, or when players try to incite another player to get him sent off, even the antics of the Thistle keeper at their penalty would be described as unsporting behaviour. However, when Tillman presses and wins the ball, after they delay (I don’t think we were getting it back) in giving the ball back, all hell breaks loose! I understand why Beale made the decision he did, I tend to agree as the media meltdown around it had he not would be crazy and not what we need in the run up to the league cup final!

Russ

Harsh, what's he supposed to do as assistant? Came back at the first opportunity as well.

Tom Smith

Not got a problem with us giving them a goal back. But we all know if it had been another team across the city, this wouldn't have happened. In fact, they have previous. In 1995, the season after Raith beat them in the league Cup final. They played against each other at the piggery in the same competition. In extra time, raith kicked the ball out because Peter grant was down hurt. That lot didn't give raith the ball back and allow them to clear their lines, and celtic score to go through. They are, and always will be scum. Glad we are above this.

John Smith

Michael Beale was absolutely justified in doing what he did. To be fair though Ian McCall is probably one of the few mangers who would’ve returned the favour. Must say I’m pretty disheartened to see so many of our support giving the gaffer stick saying it’s all about “winning at all costs” sorry but I don’t want to be a part of that Rangers. The Rangers I follow believe in good morals and upholding the values of the game. We shouldn’t have to score a goal like that to beat a team in the next division. That’s my take on it anyway

AGS

Get what you’re saying but the thistle player mis-controlled the ball so think Tillman was legit in going for it

John Smith

Definitely agree with you there. The goal was legal but I think the spirit of the situation maybe wasn’t quite right
