May 2014 was the last time that we saw any new inductees into the club's Hall of Fame which at the time brought the number of members of this illustrious group to 98. Almost 10 years on, we will most likely see that number pass 100 as Rangers have announced that to open New Edmiston House, the Hall of Fame dinner is to make its comeback.

Joining Grant this week is Hoggy and Andy McGowan as the boys discuss:

  • Are there any players missing that should already be included?
  • Should the Hall of Fame expand to include non-playing staff?
  • Should the current crop of players be inducted whilst still playing?

Without listening, though I will listen, here are my thoughts. 1 - Mark Walters would be on my list of inductees. 2 - We should have a separate listing for non-playing staff. 3 - No. (unless they win a European trophy)

Steven L

Morelos should be on the list for the future. Special contribution. Top European goal scorer.

Craig Fryatt

What about Craig Moore? Does he fly under the radar because of his final season?

Grant Sneddon

Was a name I didn't consider until we stopped recording. I would have Oz in there with no issues at all. There is also Gary Stevens and Trevor Steven as well

Something else that surprised me is that only 2 HoFers started the game that clinched 9IAR. Aside from Robertson and Moore I can think of one more deserving from that line up. Conversely there are 4 from the starting line up from August 1988 that started 9IAR not in the hall. There are strong arguments for Stevens, Munro and Walters (apologies to Drinkell).

Gregg

Walters is a no brainer for me - what a player he was.

Gregg

Johnston would be a brilliant interview - I’d love to know if he’d do the same thing again, knowing how it panned it. Was at the France game as a young kid, amazing night.

David

Not now he seems to have a weird love in with them and their manager

Bob MacCallum

MoJo, Walters, Robertson are musts. Boyd probably. David Mitchell from 19th century a disgraceful omission. First Ranger to accomplish so many things.

Rather than include non-players in the Hall of Fame, why can't the club create a Hall of Thanks - for those like Jimmy Bell?
