Definitely not "weak". However, I'm convinced that while Partick were about to play the ball back, they were using it to get an advantageous position on the pitch

John Smith

Anyone calling the manager weak is incredibly foolish in my view. A lot of fans are in a dangerous predicament right now of potentially going down the road of becoming like that lot. They would never have done that and that’s what makes us different. We have class, let’s keep it that way

Rona Bluebell

Right thing to do. We’re not anyone else, we’re us. Only similar event I can remember was a European game we coasted through and Chris Woods (goalkeeper) was brought up to take a penalty as so many goals going in. I think he missed 🤔 However, it was disrespectful and not what we are about and rightly criticised at the time. Standards then and standards now.

Alan Cowan

Our club is built on sporting integrity We will never stoop to the levels of our rivals. Malik made an honest mistake not knowing the circumstances Tomorrow's chip paper. But we know what happens over in the east end of the city. Just keep building the dossier on them

Heart and Hand

They were but that’s the convention to be fair. We do that too. Nobody just throws it back to where the team were. Whether that’s right or wrong is another debate but we can’t claim this was a departure.

Ecky G

Cracking closing song, what an uplifting tune to hear on a Monday.

Stillsaw

A bit early today boys, still got over an hour left to work😢

Stillsaw

Sounds pretty similar to Nathan Oduwas flick. Rangers do it & it’s disrespectful, any other team does it & it’s called football.

Tamus

Listen to the "little Carl Carlton" version - it's class too

Pedro

I was totally against the decision at first but have changed my mind after hearing the gaffer's explanation.

David Campbell

I left Ibrox yesterday flat simply because the level of the performances. It can't continue. The results are what's keeping people off the managers back.

Rod

Still say it makes Beale look weak, not in the eyes of the Rangers support for the reasons David spoke about, but to the wider world of Scottish football. They all try and fuck us over at every turn and we just need to take it but the minute we are a bit naughty and gain an advantage Beale bottles it and falls over himself making it up to them. They must all be pissing themselves laughing at how much of a sort touch we are.

Heart and Hand

As I say, you can criticise the decision but doing what he did was the very opposite of 'bottling' anything. I think you can stand up for yourself without pulling a fast one to beat F'N Partick Thistle. That's beneath us.

Charles McIntyre

I will hold my hand up and admit to a 180 flip 12 hours later regarding whether it was the correct thing to do or not. I have no beef with MB regarding letting Thistle score. However what I’m still angry at is the treatment of our young player Tillman both leading up to us scoring and the aftermath. He’s fouled and trod on deliberately before and pushed to the ground after scoring and yet our Manager did not state any of these facts after the Match. He didn’t offer any credible case for the defence re the shocking penalty decision given against Colak either. Imo MB has been naive at best and weak at worst in a lot of his press conferences since he’s come in where he’s had plenty of opportunities to call out some of the decisions that have went against us. He also has a habit of contradicting himself the latest being “very few changes” for yesterday then he makes 7. He stated when he came in Sands “is not a CB” and “I want to see him play midfield before I can assess him properly”. Why play him at CB yesterday when we have an excellent prospect and natural CB on the bench. Don’t get me started on the rotation of goalkeepers debacle and some of his common on that. I think he has shown signs of weakness and so has the Team. One 90min performance since he’s come in is a major worry.

Chris C

Well said Davie. Those horrible bastards lower every standard applicable to them they don’t set them.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David 😊👍 The Manager's decision yesterday re gifting a goal was a Struthian level of class & honour, especially in today's climate. Do we want a manager with absolute courage in his convictions to do the right thing? I certainly do. In an instant MB saw the bigger picture; the mhedia attacks on club and player/s, the claims of tainted trophy if won and the incident being dragged up for the rest of time by every single non Ranger, every single time a cup tie is played or a return to opponent situation arises. Because thats what 'win at any cost' clubs & fans do - use anything & everything to try to gain an advantage and/or deflect from their own poor behaviour. Beale put the responsibility & pressure of being a Ranger onto those players to go on and deliver a result for him, the club, us and themselves. They did. He had the confidence in them to do it. The phrase 'sporting integrity' is banded around, almost uniquely, in Scottish football - and glibly done! What Beale, staff & players did yesterday is a phenomenally rare occurrence of actual sporting integrity in Scottish football. Do I think think PT players were 'at it' during that incident (& at all times) yesterday? Yes I certainly do!

James Alcorn

“Fucking hate Celtic, right” was a highlight

Stewart Robertson

It opens up a wider debate - about the “dark arts” or playing it “cute”. Ultimately, he’s the Boss, and a bit like yer Da’ - what he says goes. End of.

William Ross

We were poor yesterday, the officials were appalling, partick were snide and thuggish - that farce could all have been avoided if the officials had spotted or not chosen to ignore the deliberate stamp on tilman

William Ross

We played aberdeen at ibrox in a midweek game over 20++ years ago. We kicked the ball out at the halfway line to let an ABERDEEN player get treatment. Aberdeen rewarded that sportsmanship by taking the throw in to willie Miller who indicated to the rangers players to stay back, he was going to return the ball to us. However like a rugby player finding touch he knocked the ball out at our corner flag and the Aberdeen players charged down the pitch to try and box us in - prick!
