Rangers have decided against signing James Sands and allowed him to return to New York City ahead of the start of the MLS season.

This would appear to herald the first of many players departing ahead of next season.

All the best James.

James Sands Departs Rangers

RANGERS Football Club can today confirm James Sands has returned to parent club New York City FC. The United States international joined Rangers on-loan in January 2022 and went on to make 41 appearances for the club in both domestic and European competition.

Bob MacCallum

Hope he does well back home. Just not good enough for the physicality of our league.

QB_72

All the best to the lad back at NYCFC.

John Buchan

All the best James , he was very unlucky he was played out of position a lot of the time

KennyY

Good luck to the boy. Tried his best and was part of this great club

William Black

Best of luck to him but he was nowhere near what we required - similar to many of his current team mates.

David

Goodbye

Alan Murdoch

Probably for the best really. Good luck to the lad for the future.

Steve Clark

Good luck to the boy, became a bit of a whipping boy.

Jock Paterson

Good decision, hopefully the first of many.

Martin Davies

Why did he start vs Thistle rather than give a run out to King? Unfortunately he was never going to be good enough for Rangers. Anyway, best of luck to him.

Gary Brown

Best of luck to James. Had a good attitude and because he was routinely played out of position never got a proper chance to show us his talents.

David Innes

All the best to him but never a Rangers player (a phrase we utter far too often these days)

Alan Cowan

Good lad Decent player but just didn't have a settled position due to our substantial so called injury list. Too many players at Rangers swinging the lead. Get back to playing you shower of money grabbers

Peter Hosie

One of the best stats for passing accuracy but not hard in the horseshoe. He didn’t get a run in midfield but what I seen it wasn’t good enough but I wish him all the best

Andrew Hillis

All the best for the future James!

Brian Rae

Another Wlison Gamble that's not paid off. Hopefully, he can discover his best position on the near future. Having played the majority of his time at CB for us and NYCFC, he's definitely not suited there. I wish him well.

Mark

Only fair to the lad. He might be a good player but Scottish football is not for him.

Shevy Kapoor

Good. Hopefully the first of many more and this includes wee Wilson.

John Smith

Wasn’t played in his natural position. Feel bad it didn’t work out. Best of luck Jimmy

Graeme Dempster

Good. I wonder would they take a few of the others aswell

AGS

Gio would’ve signed him

Dave Paton

No ill will towards the lad. Just didn’t work out, all the best for the rest of your career James 👍

Martin Boyd

Good luck to the boy the alleged fee wasn’t going to help him get a spot, probably would have been decent played in his favoured position but we can’t afford decent for that money.

Jonny Campbell

Few very good games in a rangers shirt particularly PSV away. Good luck James.

Steven Dillon

Best wishes with your career moving forward James.
