Agree with Andy on the hall of fame. Not really something that should be for non playing other than extreme exceptions.

I believe either a non-player section of the HoF or a unique award given out during HoF events for non-playing staff is not just a good idea but a desirable one. It breaks down the classist undertone that it's only the players that are important. If we believe what we say about people like Jimmy Bell then to deny them a place in the HoF purely for not being a player, is to suggest that despite their commitment and contribution, they are somehow lesser than. To me that's unacceptable. My suggestion would actually be to create The Jimmy Bell Outstanding Contribution to Rangers FC Award (The Jimmy Bell Award for short). The first year would be a combined celebration of Jimmy himself as the award's namesake, along with the first recipient of the award itself, Walter Smith.

Hateley is a legend of a player but I do remember him backing the easdales so not sure I would listen to his views! Regarding Jimmy Bell I agree in some form of honour but not the hall of fame for me! Maybe renaming one of player of the year awards after him is more appropriate?!

I would love Jimmy Bell to be inducted in the HOF. His service to has more than earned it ! I don’t think it’s the prestige honour it’s made out to be at times given the volume of people but would be a massive gesture to Jimmy Bell and can’t see many complaining feels like a win win

Hateley seems to follow the same utterly nonsensical strategy that Gerrard had in that we must never sell players. The problem we’re having is down to not selling players. Not picking the right time to sell at the peak and reinvest is what is the single major difference between us and the Filth. That and terrible recruitment

It astounds me that someone who thinks tav should be in the HOF, doesn't think Jimmy Bell deserves it. That's not a dig at Andy, it's more a realisation that as a fanbase we all agree we've lost the standards that made our club great but clearly can't agree on what they standards actually are! For the record, I also think tav should've been considered for HOF after his Rangers career, so it's not just tav bashing either. Although he'll have to win a hell of a lot more in the rest of his time here to justify his entry imo.
