Here we go with strategic thinking again. If we can’t spend the money, why? How do we get from having less money to more money. Show us a route map to success. Bigger stadium capacity, better recruitment? If all this is off the table then we are forever second best. All the Sevco brigade will be right; we won’t be Rangers any more. Beale has basically run up a white flag in the same way Gio did after Ajax. That mob will be lapping it up. He’s not the answer. The strategic direction of Rangers is also well off. There’s a lack of visible leadership and excitement about a club that was all about that when I was growing up. It’s just stale. Someone needs to tell us how we get from also rans to winners or the fans will drift away and Mad Phil will be proven correct. Rangers is about winning. If you say you can’t win you’re not Rangers. They’ll get 53, 54 and continue. Beale is way too gobby. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but how are those comments meant to sell season tickets? Absolute nonsense. There’s a guy sitting in Livingston that would know how to do it.

Fully expect to hear soon that Broxi Bear, the stadium announcer and Edmiston House are all out injured until next season. I think Ibrox must have been built on a Native American burial ground such is the extent of our casualties.

Gregg

Loved the time to get roofless line Colin - top punnage

Roofe needs to go asap. If true he is on 35k a week on a 4 year deal that £7.2m we have wasted on that. Take Helander's wages on that, and Souttar's wages... How much has Ross Wilson lost us in finances wasted? Unbelievable stuff. From the board down our club is broken. Since King left we have been on a daily decline all over the club. Something needs to give ASAP.

Scott Affleck

What is the actual injuries for Roofe and Lawrence? Does anyone ask? Especially Lawrence, are these break downs in training related to the original injury in August? Or new injuries? The amount of "set backs" our players get is incredible.

Robert White

Sometimes a club goes through many major injuries. We did a couple of times in my lifetime supporting the gers. Its likely a combination of things behind the scenes and bad luck. It will change. My priority would be resigning Kent, signing Tillman and bringing Roofe, Hagi, Souttar and Lawrence into the 1st 11 starters. I don't want 4 new players, we should be doing better!

Doug

Both had knee injuries. I have heard some rumours about the "other issues" effecting Roofe, but they aren't something I'd want to spread in a forum like this unless he publicised it himself. It would be something that could impact his ongoing health if it's the case.

Gregg

If we’re getting Souttar back let’s go balls to the wall and partner him wi Helander

Colin

Hi Scott, issue with Lawrence is his achilles which was meant to be on the mend after an operation but he has broken down again and required another operation. Roofe’s latest is his calf.

Caroline needs to do an immediate podcast after an old firm defeat to soothe everyone as she is so calm and level headed. The rest of us are electrified salmon. 😬

We will be second best for some time. He isn't wrong. Clubs that spend the most tend to be on top at the table in their respective leagues. Celtic consistently outperform us in the transfer market. Beale is trying to align expectations as we will not be fighting toe to toe with celtic for domestic silverware every competition every year. We will win the odd league, but we will not be able to have sustained success while we are poorer than Celtic Right now Rangers is not about consistant winning. We don't have the capitol to be the dominant force. What can we do about that? absolutely nothing probably. Celtic had 5 years to get their ship in order, build their brand (without us) and coin in exclusively on incomes they would have been fighting against us to get. Tell you what would be a bad idea? Sacking the manager every time he doesn't meet some elevated expectation. Beale can't really win in somes eyes can he? If he says it as it is. We have less money, we will probably have to be frugal and we will be spending less than Celtic, he is called a gobby loser. If he says the opposite and we end up being frugal, spending less than Celtic anyway he will be called a liar. We have a wonderful proud history, but we can't bleat on about that forever like it gives us a divine right to be what we always have been. I'm just happy we have Rangers now. Not to long ago I was unsure whether we were going to be the next third lanark. If Rangers existing within their means is all we have i personally would take that. The alternative was too close it felt like a bad dream.

If you’re satisfied to play second fiddle and win the occasional league then you don’t support the same Rangers as I do. Second is first loser. I don’t think winning the league in Scotland as Scotland’s best supported club is an elevated expectation.

maccalsa

I'm not satisfied, but its where we are and I'm happy i have club. You are living in a fantasy land where "being the best supported club" means something in modern day football. It might mean a lot to you, but its money that drives football, Are we the best supported club in Scotland?. Do we dwarf celtic by such a significant amount that it actually makes any difference? But carry on with your approach which is sadly detached from reality. It will give you a lot of opportunities to complain about managers, complain about players, complain about lack of success, but remember all those complaints you will be measuring with envy against the "smaller club" celtic I'm lucky I lived through the 80''s seen souness change everything. Remember us competing for the best players in the world. Remember the first champions league campaign. Seen Hateley, Laudrup, Gascoigne and Albertz deliver 9 in a row. Seen the Dutch invasion. Have been alive to see two European Cup finals. Success is fleeting. We are more modest now, but i have the memories. I have my Rangers and that Rangers will do for me. So wax lyrical about biggest and best (fill in blank) if it makes your rangers more palitable, but I wouldn't get hung up on who has the most titles as I feel that may go soon.
