It's March 2015 and in one the most important days in our club's history the spivs were voted out as Dave King, John Gilligan and Paul Murray wrestled control from them. One of their first acts was to appoint Stuart McCall as the interim boss till the end of the season.

Join Dave, David and Rob as they begin charting his stay at Ibrox as manager.

Do you think we would be able to get JG or PM to come on and speak about the state of the club when they took over? I understand they wouldn’t be able to speak about the actual contracts etc…. But would love to hear especially PM how the club actually was!

Ray

I was struggling to hear rob on this podcast.. anyone else?

Sorry chaps, I think I've made the classic mistake of letting my mic default to the laptop. I can assure you that everything that I said was tremendous

New show titles! New show titles for everyone!

Ally back as manager ( shudder) , and didn't previous regime change falter on Ally not voting for it ? Something to do with the shares he got when Green took over ? I was In Glasgow that weekend with wife so got regime change Lionel Ritchie concert and founding fathers tour Saturday afternoon as I don't think Rangers had a game that weekend

As much as we pride ourselves on the small total of managers in our history, I think it's quite disrespectful that McCall isn't classed as one of the official number. He wasn't called the caretaker when he was appointed.

I don’t think any short-term contracts should count. For me any ‘till the end of the season’ bosses are automatically caretakers. If no extended contract is signed it’s basically a temp.

Ian Black, who obviously didn’t leave on good terms with Stuart McCall, did say his training sessions are the best he ever had under any coach in his career

Mark

I think Kenny from South Park is filling-in for him...

Rod

One thing I never understood was why the Easdale block abstained in the EGM vote after being in Ashley's pocket the whole time. I can only think they knew they were losing and it was a futile face saving operation from them not wanting to be on the losing side.

Rod

That pair didn't have one to start with. Although I think David mentioned in the past they suffer from delusion when it comes to how they are viewed by the Rangers support.

Heart and Hand

As bizarre as it seems, they think they kept the club going and it only survived because of them. They genuinely don’t understand why Rangers fans don’t like them.

Jock Paterson

Nice start, but any chance Rob could be provided with a mike instead of a tin can and string? 😆

Great show. I’m wondering if anyone with inside knowledge from the good guys side will ever write the definitive book of what happened over that full ‘admin to McCall’ period. I don’t think any one person would have the full story; I’d certainly want to hear Ally’s take on what he saw. Maybe one for Martyn Ramsay after Revolution 2…

Gary Brown

I asked this in the Q&A episode - no takers for the task! Fair enough. The 'Ally Show' lads are daft but not stupid 😉😄

Another great episode. As ever, thanks guys for your painstaking work in bringing us this series. We can forget & forgive the actual football at this point in the story, its unimportant. The takeover was the most important event in our history. The term 'Husk' was used a few times to describe the club and there is no doubt that husk was perilously close to collaping in on itself - there was very little left to exploit / extract. With no investment from the spivs combined with dwindling crowds, boycotts (which would have increased) there was not much of a future for a Rangers in the form we know it. Never! Too big! Eh? Just ask Bury fans what happens when the unimaginable becomes reality. Thanks again lads. A lovely ray of sunshine signalling the worst of the storm has passed.👍

I will only ever remember McCall as a player , he was too nice to turn us down and took over a shit show , Alex Ferguson couldn’t fix but great show
