Cannot beat The Stranglers!

Greg

Not aimed at hh but wtf are the media going to do when Alfie leaves ? They are going to squeeze every drop out of him between now and the summer.

Hoggy

Every so often a player comes to Scotland and becomes public enemy number one for everyone bar us. Alfie is the latest and won’t be the last. Jealousy perhaps. “How dare Rangers has a player who doesn’t respect us!” To be honest. I want more players who don’t have much in the way of respect for the rest of the teams in the league.

Heart and Hand

Very few players have his personality, and that’s without doing interviews. He’s just very charismatic.

Doubtful Nine243

Saying Antonio Čolak isn't the type of player for an old firm is mental what chance has he had

Heart and Hand

It’s not really mental is it? It’s a perfectly normal viewpoint that some players suit certain games. I don’t think away at Parkhead or Hampden is his.

Doubtful Nine243

It's a legitimate view point but do we know he doesn't suit Parkhead away because he's not had much of a chance, in all the games he's played in that stadium Morelos has one goal and missed a lot more chances however, Čolak we know from the evidence of him being our top scorer this season that if a chance falls to him in the box he likely takes it which is what you need against them, the body of evidence for Morelos suggests he won't. However, both great players and a fantastic update today as always

Spoon

Excellent pod gents. Not sure that the idea that Morelos is much use in OF games stands scrutiny either tbh, his record (like so many of our forwards) isn’t what you would call inspiring our likely to strike fear in them. Honestly despair at home quick our own support are to do down Colak in a smattering of games, Alfredo, Kent even guys like Arfield get praised for a handful of goals a season while Colak probably scored more in his first 6 games than some of them will score in a season. I’m not sure that the players vote is always indicative of how the player performs, this group seem to have low expectations in sone ways and a lot are happy to be mediocre, it wasn’t long ago we were discussing how they view Scott Wright as a good team mate based on endeavour more than end product but I am sure Kent is amazing in training as he looks like he works hard, I would echo the comments however that his end product is just dire for a £7 million start player who must be the highest paid currently (or certainly wants to be if he re-signs) not sure we are getting value from him. Like Hoggy I doubt we get to see a fired up Alfredo desperate to go out with a bang, he strikes me as a guy who has football as a job and not a vocation which is sad but if you look back impartially I suspect as was correctly pointed out he has done as much which has frustrated as he has positive. A lot of your view comes from what type of player you like, I prefer the Steve Davis model pro, maximising their ability type of player than the mercurial maniac. Great pod discussion.

Mark

It's not just the media, FF is exactly the same. There's a double-digit thread currently running on there about him training in a hotel gym.

Greg

FF has multiple Morelos threads, some just become Morelos threads with the same band posting on them all.

Greg

He did have a chance earlier this season at parkhead whole team was rank rotten but he had a very good chance he passed up in that game.

Doubtful Nine243

One game though that's my point, one game at the beginning of his Rangers career hardly much to base the idea that he shouldn't be playing in the fixture especially when Morelos has hardly done much this season and to be honest most of his Rangers career against Celtic to warrant the idea he should be the first name in the team sheet in the semi final

Andra

Book ordered.

Andrew Hind

Can see us pushing for the Saturday slot as the pitch will be a mess by Sunday, not that it will be in a good condition to start with

Graham johnston

Maybe play Fashion as the lead striker against Celtic. His pace alonewould make their defence sit 20 yards further back. Morelos has let us down on more than one occasion and I'm not sure we can trust him unfortunately. However only the manager will see what's happening on the training ground. If he has any concern then he can't play him. We can't have passengers. I appreciate Fashion hasn't worked when played there before but he played there in Belgium and against Celtiic he will get the room a St Johnstone at Ibrox wouldn't allow him.

David Simpson

"You can't invent fans..." - maybe so, but watch Falkirk or ICT demand half of Hampden for the final! Book ordered - and great intro again 😄

David Baillie

Great pod lads. What’s happened to Tess?

Doug Young

Probably a solo opinion but I'd keep Alfie over Kent every time. Alfie is a better finisher, better linkup player and just more dangerous all round. Kent flatters to decieve in most outings. Alfie might look off it at the moment but a sustained series of starts and some smoke blown up his arse would do him the world of good. He thrives on confidence.

Doug Young

Again, fair. Like I said, just my opinion and, like I said, probably a solo one. 👍

Doug Young

The main thrust of my point is that I think Alfie is far more effective than Kent.

Douglas Innes

Don't think it's fair to suggest the other semi final should be shifted , this Falkirk v ICT will be a highlight for many taking part and the chance to play in a national final and deserve the right to play on it before any Final in June

Gordon Bruce

He looked excellent that night. Held the ball up, moved the defenders, deadly finishing. I remember coming away from that match thinking how great it would be if we could afford a striker like that! I think its hugely exagerated how much better Alfie is compared to Colak as a lone striker, I don't see that at all.

Liam Johnson

Hoggy was saying Beales comments should jar a professional player into action. Thats Alfies biggest problem, he isn’t professional
