Mcgregor needs to Go, he cost us the league last year and he's piss poor again this year. His remaining here this season piled huge pressure on Jon Mac and stifled McCrorie progress NEEDS TO GO!

Mr Jäger

"Ah don't care Andy, Fuck yer list"😂😂 Ye broke poor Alan!

james whyte

Great show tonight guys 🤣🤣

LMcGrath

Fully agree with Andy. The subway loyal are so embarrassing. The ones that stay are better fans imo. How would ypu like the players to say at 80 minutes, right am away up the road.

LMcGrath

And I don't mean nipping out a few minutes early the odd time. I mean the ones leaving 10-15 minutes early every week.

Tom

Like the staunch version of Still Game this pod!😂😂

Paul

The players can't do that though can they. It's their job. Not sure anyone can do that at work. You pay your money, you can leave when you want. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone.

Pedro

I've yet to see ANY of Davies's strengths. His passing? Bang average.

Paul Kerr

David's cry of despair when Andy mentioned a new deal for McGregor echoed round the globe. It's time for a clean break.

Pondo Sinatra

Bit of a swear-fest tonight but I loved it! Shows passion! 😂🇬🇧

Martin Davies

I take Alan's point about fans staying far away from the Glasgow area. But this for me makes it even worse - we have some supporters who spend the best part of 24 hours door to door to watch a 90 min game, yet locals leave 15 mins early to be home for 5:45 rather than 6:00. I also think supporters buses are a major problem. I stay in Ayr and when I'm driving into the town, the RSC has already dropped everyone off and is heading back to the depot. The folks on that bus and many others like it must be leaving at 80-85 mins. The solution? Scanners on the way out to tap your ST, an extra MyGers point for staying until the final whistle.

Rona Bluebell

Oooh now that would be interesting. Incentivise loyalty. I’m wondering what the unintended consequences might be 🤔

Andy McGowan

Apart from the tornado of controversy it would create 😂 Health and safety wouldn't allow it for crowd flow etc

Alan Bradley

Mainstream media, would have a field day. Rangers indirectly paying supporters for staying until full time. 😂

James Muir

Are we better not signing tillman and using the funds for a top class keeper or make mccorie gers no 1 alot of tough choices to be made .

James McConnachie

We need a Scottish footie version of the Liver King. A proper knuckle dragging, bourbon-swigging, shaves in cold water, uses shiny toilet paper kinda centre half.

Stephen Fraser

Great pod as per, lads. I’ve had a terrible time getting to matches this season and have only just made the last two, however both times I’ve sat next to guys who have left at half time. It’s one of those topics that you can’t win or lose on, but I tend to agree more on Andy’s perspective.

Stephen Fraser

Having immediately considered what I’ve just written, I should add that I’m arriving at these games clean. I’m no a manky b@stard, just to clarify 😆

James McConnachie

Real politik and Alan ‘Fuck yer list’ Bradley in one podcast. Gold.

Directionhome

Why is it only us that has this mass exodus around the 80-85min mark though, other than the transport situation. Individual excuses, aye, but empty stands is a bit of a riddy when it’s every week no matter the outcome/performance.

Ecky G

There are two important words, fan and supporter. How can you support your team sitting in a car or in the pub You can support the club by buying your season ticket and choosing to leave before the 90 or you can stay and support the players on the pitch. Win lose or draw that’s the Glasgow Rangers story.😀

Alan Bradley

Same here. Slightly embarrassed about my occasional wee outbursts, but as Warbs says “I’ll review my performance, learn from my mistakes and put it right for the next time.”

@bluebeans

Totally agree with Andy on the mass exodus - it’s embarrassing. Can go hunting for all the rational etc but it’s mince. There are exceptions, of course there are but for the majority……come on.

Alan Bradley

Exceptions absolutely, but where people leave on occasion a few minutes before full time, absolutely fine with this. Tens of thousands 15 mins or so before full time definitely not for me, but Hey ho, people pay their money and make their own choices. The “I’m better than other supporters because I stay every week until the final whistle” nonsense. 😂

John Myles

Do you think with Ibrox emptying at 80 min is a contributing factor in us hardly ever scoring last minute winners.

Pedro

People are entitled to leave when they wish having paid for the privilege. However those who do so value "other stuff" more than they value supporting Rangers. Their actions show this.

Alan Bradley

Unlike true Rangers supporters, who always stay until the end no matter what. 😂

Andy McGowan

What if you've been given the season ticket for nowt from a friend or got a comp? Does that mean you haven't paid for the right to leave early so have to stay? 🤔😂

George Harrison

Andy, since you’re having a go at me for leaving 2 minutes early, perhaps you can tell me who the hell Leanne King is ? 🤣🤔🙈

Gordon Mitchell

The video of the 60 pass goal really highlights Todd Cantwell. The lad is all over the park linking up and spraying the ball about. Never mind the fact he ends the move by skinning 4 players and puts the ball through for the goal. His engine seems incredible.

Gordon Mitchell

PS. Beale needs to introduce a blootering session in training. Where the ball is dropped into a group of players and the defensive team has one job. Blooter the f*****g as far up the park as they can.

Craig

It might be an individual choice when to leave the stadium, but I think there's an element of groupthink when you see a mass exodus like Sunday. For some people it's a performative "the game's done" or "I'm not impressed" move and a few people doing it leads to a few more and then streams of folk all going at the same time.

Scott Tolmie

Allan McGregor is was a free, as for Davies I actually really like him. Some folk are extremely harsh. I’d happily keep the 3 we have, I’m more concerned about the middle to front, not enough goals throughout the team.

Andrew

Good episode title - always wondered if Harold MacMillan was a bluenose

Laura McCrimmon

Great pod guys and always have a wee giggle when Alan goes on a wee rant and has a swear ...fuck your list, best phrase of the pod today 🤣

Gregg

Fuck yer list - podcast gold 😂

Angus Mackay

This pod is spot on at so many levels, especially about Matondo. We were clearly miles better when he came on on Saturday, he's technically excellent and is a clever footballer. We really need to give the kid a proper chance; we're not in a position to be discarding investments having scarcely given them an opportunity,

Alan Shaw

Sums up our support. When matondo set up morelos, the guy turns round and said see i told you he'd come good

Rose Mcloughlin

Laughing my head off Ive found another reason to leave early...my friend who is partial sighted and I both not spring chicken s always stay to the end clapping the players ect..but because of the daylight disappearing we head home quickly...but light nights are here finally we decided to go into edminston house..wee cuppa and cake ect..got there after the game and no food left..no cakes..and the coffee.tea machine had broke down...not a lot of seats about roughly 24 if im right ? For our fan base ..what??..ofcourse needed the rest of the space for selling goods...anyway do we now need to leave early to get a seat..cake..or cuppa..😊😆 before everyone dives on and says go before the match..this is a wind up..but .unless you have a real reason to leave thats ok...niw I think its more habit to fans leaving and they never think of the players...sorry Alan..

Colin Gardner

Why didn't the stadium empty 15 minutes before the final whistle against RB Leipzig? All the arguments for.ie Transport, travelling a long way home etc were totally blew out the water that night. Its a Rangers thing and it boils my piss.Your 100% right Pedro, that's why we very rarely score late winners.

Bob MacCallum

Beale should use that fact, all those empty seats, and say to his players, the fans have gone because they're BORED, that's because they're not being entertained - because YOU have all eased off, given up trying to score more, letting the game drift. You give your all for 90 + minutes and the fans will too.

Michael James McLeod

Andy McGowans thoughts regarding the support 100% spot on big man !

Scott Carmichael

Three boys sitting next to me on Saturday. Obviously been in the pub (lucky bastards). First one says “This is shite” and leaves. After 20 minutes!! The other two at least had the decency to wait until just after halftime. Makes you wonder why they went in the first place.

Alan Bradley

He just stays until the end as it’s somewhere nice & quiet for him to read the report/accounts and Gers financial performance.

Alan Bradley

I’d love to go for cakes/coffee at full time, but I’m too busy running down the Govan Road before the Wishaw loyal RSC bus leaves for home. 😂

Scott Cunningham

People can do what they want but it happens with us FAR more than any other team I've ever seen, so why is that?

Andy Sladen

Problem for me with Davies is that he isn’t a hard tackler or too nice a bloke. That thug Maine was fouling and being a dirt prick all game. At the second goal Davies could have made it a 50/50 and played the ball but also leave a bit on him - within reason nowadays - and didn’t. Would rather try to nick the ball. Don’t get why the same people leave early every match - but guess that’s cos I stay till the end and our players have left the pitch before I go.

Tommy

With regards to people leaving early, I don’t believe there’s been a single initiative from the club to try and address this. Why? To me it suggests they don’t care. A few ideas from me: - Play a B match or Women’s match kicking off 15-20 mins after FT. Encourage fans to stay back and watch some of it. - Have player signing sessions taking place in concourses from 5.15pm. - Open up food outlets later (although there’s a chicken and egg thing here - they’ll need supporters there to justify it) - Request a trial from Scottish Govt to sell beer, possibly mid strength as a compromise, from FT in the stadium. Encourages fans to hold back, meet some friends, and a grab a pint before leaving. (Maybe in conjunction with player signing sessions for the kids or a B match) Trial one event with all of the above and let’s see how it goes. The club engagement with support is dramatically bad compared to other sports. This is a move that would benefit the team on the pitch, it may not work but let’s at least try something.

Heart and Hand

It’s absolutely not they don’t care but they are well aware how it would look - and more importantly be perceived by a large section of the fanbase - if they were seen to be begging people to stay.

Tommy

This is the problem David. It feels like the club is shit scared of perception more than actually doing the right thing. Do some initiatives to encourage fans to stay later, yeah someone will whinge on Twitter but who cares. It’s like a recent tweet if yours re kit design and how the board manage this closely and sign it off. It’s consistently bland and boring and again because they are shit scared of backlash, to the extent that we never lead, we’re never innovative, we’re never offering anything fresh or exciting. This then plays out in revenue where we follow Celtic and are consistently late to the party with revenue generating initiatives. Obviously don’t do daft shit like play a match against them in Sydney (maybe this is what has scarred them) but try to do things that are different, take some risks.
