Bob MacCallum

This MUST be it re Jack. We shouldn't waste our precious resources on renewing his contract. Wise up. Nothing is going to be different going forward. Ditto Helander, Davis, Arfield and McGregor.

Alan Weir

Spot on, Bob. We simply don’t have the cash or time to carry players based on sentiment, past glories or being “good Rangers men”.

George Higgins

Jack is a good player when fit. Unfortunately it’s only 50% of the time. Offer him a one year deal that factors that in. It would inevitably mean keeping Lundstrum as cover. If that’s not enough then he can go. The alternative is finding a replacement for him . How much does that cost? We still need to keep or replace Lundstrum as back up. Not easy.

Ray

Loved the cameo from Ron burgundy at the end there 😂

Tamus

Both Ryans need to go, one gives everything when fit, but never is. The other is a bit of a waster and an enigma who hasn't kicked his arse for 2 years

Mark Rennie

Jack has missed 118 games since joining, averages out he's missed half a season every year he's been here. Now he's out again. The contract if he wants to sign should be a pay as you play

George D

Mr R Jack has played only 45% of all the possible games he's been at the club. Sorry, but there's no room for players like that. Any comment on us being linked to Lyndon Dykes? Please say it isn't so. He's a clugger. If Mr Beale signs him, on his head it'll be.

Graham Roy

I’m sure Andy Will confirm if true but I suspect if we hadn’t forced Ashley’s hand and broke the deal we would still be in a deal with SD!

Wilf marshall

Thanks for the name check Colin. It was indeed some celebration when that winner went in on Wednesday. As the kids would say “LIMBS!”

John Smith

Hope he was there to watch Samardzic. He’s a belter of a player

Re Elite, as a general principle Administrators have a legal obligation to act in the best interests of creditors That generally means in deciding to spend money on this legal action (which otherwise would go towards paying creditors what they are due) they need to decide on balance of probabilities they have a realistic chance of winning thereby justifying the use of creditors cash That would be normal circumstances but guess what we are Rangers… One thing that seems to be missing from any story on this is the who are the administrators of Elite Sports Group Limited? Well on what I can see they are Kroll Advisory Ltd https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4220229 Kroll formerly being known as Duph & Phelps https://www.kroll.com/en/about-us/news/duff-and-phelps-unifies-under-kroll-brand Any bells ringing now? For me that helps explain why Rangers have not felt the need to recognise any contingent liability in the accounts. I would also be interested to understand whether and other party has provided funding to pursue this action meaning creditor money doesn’t need risked I hope I’ve got my googling wrong here but would explain all this

David_Davy_Dave

Worth saying range of possible cost probably also prohibits recognition in accounts too right now

John Smith

You stay classy San Diego

David Innes

I really like Ryan Jack but I think it’s time for him to move on. Also zero chance of him quitting Scotland now as realistically the Euros are going to be his last chance of playing at a major tournament

Colin Mathie

It would be bonkers to give Ryan Jack a new deal, we cant afford passengers next season.

Colin Mathie

Does this court case mean that fatboy is still sniffing about?

Paul Kerr

Agree that Ryan Jack needs to be prioritising club over country if he's going to stay. If he was playing 45-50 games a season I'd have no issues, but he's playing 25. He already needs to be managed without throwing in random training camps with different staff and methods. I'd wish him well if that's what he wants to pursue but it's not what we need sadly.

Paul Kerr

We heard a lot about 'Legacy' deals and agreements when the spivs were ousted. This has turned into King's very own version of that. I've always wondered if we received bad legal advice or if these huge characters just think they know better. King wanted a fight and he made us think we'd come out of it and come out of it fighting. In retrospect it makes a lot of sense that he took a step back when he did. Shame he hadn't shown that acumen when signing the deal. Ex-Duff and Phelps trying to twist the knife seems about right if recent history has told us anything.

Gordon Masterton

The Griddy as popularised in the NFL by Justin Jefferson. Gonna love Cantwell when he scores and does the Griddy in front of that mob. It'll happen eventually!

Rona Bluebell

Never known so many players to continually be injured. The game isn’t tougher than before so, again, our signing policy is poor in this regard.

Graham Jones

This court case is a nonsense. There’s no guarantee that Rangers supporters would buy the shirts. Ask fat Mike how his retailing went with the Rangers supporters.it doesn’t go back to the decision made by Dave King wither. It goes back to us being sold to a bunch of crooks, who then allowed Ashley to get his hooks into the club. If you want to be lame anyone blame a certain Mr Green who sold us under the table for a paltry sum, not a man who has actually put more money into Rangers that’s just about none else, including David Murray. I think we need to stop finger pointing at King, Park and others on the board. They ain’t perfect, but they took decisions to try and fix things. Mr Green did it for more dubious reasons. It wasn;t for the health and benefit oof the club, that’s for sure. Those cases are legacy cases that stretch back a decade now, not a few years ago.

David_Davy_Dave

Agreed to a certain extent. I’m get that King felt he had to fight Ashley. It just looks expensive and frankly like he will never let up trying to land a punch on us

David_Davy_Dave

Re Ashley I think we did need to fight. I don’t know if it was a miscalculation by King or not because it’s expensive and frankly Ashley is going to have us as an enemy til the day he dies. Bad advice or desire to fight it kind of doesn’t matter it’s just a bad look now for King Re the Duff & Phelps connection, nothing inherently wrong but it does feel like their conflict and ethics checks are somewhat different to most firms! You’d also say that whilst there are not hundreds of UK insolvency firms capable of taking the appointment there are dozens. Therefore can’t help wonder why them

David Carslaw

You do know that you don't have to report every newspaper transfer bullshit don't you?

Jamie Gilchrist

Ive added “Set-piece committee” to my list of new-age football phrases that i abhor!!

David Baillie

Totally agree Jamie. Utter bollocks. CDM’s, No.8’s, No.6’s, False 9’s, 2 No.10’s, Average Expected Goals🤷‍♂️ Total mince. All we want to see is a good football team winning shiny things with no lawyers biting at our essentials.

Colin

One of the things we try to do daily is bring all the various news, updates and thoughts together in one place for you guys. To save you doing it yourself. I’ll continue to do that where I see fit but thanks for the comment.
