Alan travels back almost a century and across thousands of miles to cover an historical summer tour, plus a unique post war trophy success for the Gers. Oh yes and also an amazing, highly emotional and memorable World Cup.

Also news, movies and music, birthdays and signings too.

Great show Alan. 👍👍

David Baillie

Great stuff Alan. Excellent choice to play that superb Blue Seas version from Saint PHNX. However, I’m sure Stevie and Alan wouldn’t mind me pointing out that they are not from Wishaw but are bona fide members of the Bonkle Derry. Always a great start to the week to hear that ripping intro to Rock and Roll from Bonzo. Keep up the good work.

Alan Bradley

Ha thanks pal. Methinks Bonkle comes under the Wishaw (ML2) postcode, just saying as a former postie. 😂

Johnnie Mitchell

Another great show and history lesson Alan. Cheers

David Baillie

Cheers Alan, I’m sure Wullie McGregor, Eddie White or Stuartie McEwan would have kept you right on local loyalties. 👍😂. Have a great day.

Alan Bradley

😂😂 moved off to Post Office counter duties, couldn’t balance, then off to UK Sales, then National Accounts, Govt Mkts, Partnership Director, Head of Channel Mgt etc. After 31 years, they almost found me out Tamus, almost. - Phew

I was too young to remember Italia 90, only three at the time, for my generation and the ones since, it's absolutely mad to think how many Rangers players were in an England squad for a major tournement. Changed days indeed. Luckily I'm old enough to remember/witness the genius that was Gazza a few years on from this!

Alan Bradley

As a nine year old though with Euro 96, like the rest of us, you’ll no doubt remember him showing Colin Hendry and Andy Goram how talented he was.

Stewart Thomson

I remember Euro 96 very well Alan, I was in Majorca on a family holiday, watched the England game with my Dad and late Grandad in a bar in Cala'dor , obviously wanted Scotland to win and can remember being pretty gutted at the result but Gazza being "our boy" softened the blow. Iconic goal.👍

Angus Mackay

Great show as always Alan , very interesting about the main stand too

John Walker

Well done Alan getting the show in close season. Can't believe you didn't play Betty Boo. Love new order but that song is easily their worst ever.

Alan Bradley

Was a choice between the New Order song, or extending the cinema show clip to 8mins. 😂

John Walker

Think me and you are exactly the same when it comes to Scotland. Used to follow them in the old days of the home internationals but now don't really care.

Martin Davies

That Scotland WC song was even worse than I remember! What a truly inspirational coach we had in Andy Roxburgh, he made the fans believe and the players feel 10ft tall 😡 Great show 👍

Alan Bradley

Yep - what a zoomer. Just wait until next week’s pod, more frustration and tears. 😔

chris smith

Lived in Italy at the time. Saw the Costa and Sweden matches but tickets for Brazil were like gold dust

Derek Murray

Fantastic trip down memory lane - really enjoyed the US info as my father was from Detroit and left there in 1934.. by coincidence we played the Saint Phnx song at his funeral.. got really emotional hearing it again. One of the best shows on the network- keep up the good work ! Ps How about some S L Fingers from late 70s as a nice wee antithesis from your prog rock love in 😜

Alan Bradley

Thanks Derek. Sorry about impact of hearing that Saint phnx song pal. If your old man was anything like mine he’ll be looking down on you laughing at his wee laddie. Next week’s show is in the can, but I’ll definitely stick in something from S L Fingers for the following week.

George Wells

He was an absolute zoomer and big Gough rightly told him so. We could be doing with a wee song or two from SAHB.

Scott Duncan

Good show and brings back great memories from 1990 (the Coca-Cola Soccer Ball!).
