Following on from last week's show on Ally McCoist memories (almost universally well received), the highest requested "memories" for this week was Walter Smith.

Hoggy is joined by Cammy, Andys McGowan and Barnett to talk about their favourite memories of the great man, and the Patrons don't hold back either - to the extent, Hoggy doesn't get a say!

And that means, another show later in the summer!

Who do you want next week?  Do you want to come on the show?  Let us know the thread or at hoggy@heartandhand.co.uk

I was a Hod Carrier on the Isle of Man when Souness packed up, the feeling amongst myself and Rangers Pals was Walter was there to see out the Season and then we'll get a "proper" manager..glad to be proven wrong. Loved the man.

Tamus

Loved Walter - still hard to believe he is gone. 😟

Ross Thomson

Love the intro at the start. What a great man.

John Smith

Walter was Walter. There will never be anyone like him ever again and he will always be held up as the epitome of a leader, a manager, a coach, a friend, a father and a human being 💙

Craig Mitchell

I really liked that show Hoggy, thank you. Guests selections were wonderful and the trip down memory lane was perfect. The best thing I can say about Walter is that, to me, he was the personification of Mr Struth's famous words about what being a true Ranger is.

Raymond Stanger

Loved the show Hoggy, Walter was terrific, our club felt very safe when Walter was at the helm. A proper Rangers man

Mark Irvine

Excellent show as usual Hoggy. Walter was my Rangers manager. The man they all have to live up too. Graham Roy's comments had me bubbling in work.

John Allan

Great show guys. The 1991 Aberdeen game is also one of my favourite memories. A joke going round shortly after it, was that Alex Smith, the Aberdeen manager had said all he was going to say to the team just before kick-off and he left them to their thoughts. As he was waking past the Rangers dressing room he heard a voice say, "Right Mark (Walters), get that ball crossed in as soon as you can. Mark (Hateley), you crowd that wee goalkeeper as much as possible. He's just back from injury, so get in about him. Hurt him John (Brown), Terry (Hurlock) don't let Gilhaus near that ball. Break his leg if you have to." Just at that point, he hears Walter Smith's voice. "Thanks ref, I'll take it from here."
