I remember getting run out at the non strikers end for backing up too much, as the bowler was steaming in he whipped the bails off. I was only 12 or 13 at the time but I learned my lesson. Obviously Bairstow is trying to keep the game moving to get as many overs in before tea as possible but how naive can you get.. not something I expected from such a smashing player like him!!

Wood plays if fit, would also play Woakes. Robinson and Anderson to drop out

Intriguing that you guys find Cummins likeable. To us Aussies, he’s the most hated Australian captain since Kim Hughes. He’s a great bowler, but many of us wish he weren’t the skipper because he’s a fud off the pitch

It's 2-0 to Oz but I still think it's been pretty even, there was a stat going round that Australia has scored 40 odd more runs than England having faced hundreds of more balls and have won the 2 tests. I don't think either team have been at their best and have left a lot out there but it's been a great watch. The difference I think is England still have that comedy streak in them occasionally and it costs them.

John Smith

A total embarrassment from the pommeys. For all the hype around BazBall, it’s been completely found out by a far superior team.

Tom McDavid

Thanks for the mention 😇. Enjoy Headingley guys 🏏

I just listened to a bloke on your Talk Sport complaining that everyone on the boundary when Stokes batted is not in the “spirit of the game”. Seriously. You guys have an excuse for everything. It’s like listening to the Tims.

Great pod and listen especially initial view on Bairstow , myself I don't have a horse but just enjoying the action Aussie's just seem to be winning the both contests when it's Batters Vs Bowlers , my initial reaction in Bairstow dismissal was why didn't he ground his bat ? Mental and amateurish but shows the wicketkeeper concentration during the game

Enjoy headingley guys. Hopefully a win this time.

As a former wicketkeeper albeit only at a decent village level I took any advantage I could get and Bairstow shouldn’t have gone walkabouts. That being said a quiet word of warning first would have been the right thing to do in the spirit of the game. Apologies for the link as I have a feeling I’ve put this on before. I was the Staxton wicketkeeper in this match and the best way of describing the relationship of the 2 teams is that of the old firm - the other team did have green and gold as their club colours - need I say more!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny_old_game/2072286.stm Enjoy headingley and I will give you a wave - or a hug David - if I bump into you Thursday! England to win by the way!

Roslyn Hutchison

Really enjoyed listening to that. Especially Laura who is very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot from her. I had to listen to both matches on the radio as I am out of the country on holiday, and her descriptions of the play and tactics were really helpful. Jealous of you guys going to Headingley, but we are off to Old Trafford, The Oval and Lords later in the summer. Looking forward to it.

I think any nation accusing others of being crybabies after Steve Smith’s ‘I’m so sorry I’m a rotten little cheat’ waterworks presser is at it, frankly!

Kyle Kutasi

Because he admitted he made a mistake and apologised for it, then copped a very harsh penalty - that makes him a Tim?

More to do with England’s own deficiencies than anything anti-Oz I think. People just frustrated. If Oz win in Leeds the criticism of the Eng team will be biblical!
