The boys prioritised, forgot, panicked and finally came up with their Noughties Rangers XI under the pressure and restrictions of The Draft. Now you choose who managed to select the best side.

Remember, this is based purely on performances for Rangers in the 00s, not the 90s or beyond.

Polls open until Saturday.

Between Martyn and Adam, but that front 3 from Adam is howling

Ross Monro

Regardless of what happened afterwards naismith was top class for rangers

Keith Anderson

Martyn maybe missed a trick in the middle, Reyna was a 10 when we signed him so I would have him furthest forward

James McKenzie

Interesting show, enjoyed it. I would have been tempted to be dreadfully modern and put Gio in at left back, like at Barcelona. He did come up, I won't say how he came up though... ☺️

David Clapperton

Between Martyn and Stuart for me but Martyn’s team wins it because of the rock solid spine and the amount of goals in the front 3. 👌🏻

Gordon McCool

A re-run with the reverse order for picking would be good but then I’m sure the other two would like a shot at picking first. Great pod lads, was some laugh.

Graham Roy

Can’t vote for a team that includes Naismith or Whittaker! Also Zurab was never a centre half if I recall his best games were at fullback. I would have chosen Frank De Boer instead and then it would have been a coin toss between Martin and Stuart!

Craig Fryatt

Martyn’s team , if Adam had picked noughties stalwart Chris Burke he would have walked it

Haining84

Adam’s team is the best one by some distance imo.

Douglas Innes

Martyns by a mile, way too much errors in the other 3 sides

Stuart McColl

A team with Flo and Darcheville as the strikers winning. What a world we live in.

Steff Clarke

Might not be the most balanced team, but I just can't see past Prso and Canigga, both cult heroes.

Robert Ryan

Hard to understand how Mr Tactics himself has JCD at left wing!

Robert Ryan

Only Neil McCann in one of them! I'd hang my hat on him being the best winger we had since the Danish God himself and until Ryan Kent!

Robert Ryan

For me Stuart and David's had the most balance and made most sense but Stuart's midfield just does it for me so Stuart has my vote.

Simon

Seeing Martyn’s down on paper, bar the formation, looks like a collection of players Sir Walter would pick. Adam just edges it for me though. David’s choices actually look as though he only got to pick after the other three had chose their full 11s 😂

Graeme Brown

Everything’s a compromise isn’t it? There are parts of all four teams that are pretty close to being “Rangers Class”, but they all have one or two players that maybe don’t quite meet that definition. And also, seeing them on paper, none of them are quite as bad as they sounded being read out. It was a closer call than I thought to cast my vote (for Adam’s team, but only just).

Aaron Auld

Haven't listened yet so my decison is informed by sheer pettiness. The presence of Miller, Naismith or Whittaker is an instant disqualification and quite frankly, you should all have known better. So by default, Stuart wins. If I was a less hateful person, Adam's the winner.

Fraser Black

Adam for me, that midfield 🫶🏻. Just a shame the big man didn’t hang on another year & we could have seen it in action!

Martyn Ramsay

Thanks everyone who has voted. If you haven’t listened to the show yet, please do. It was mixture of fun and stress. For Marshall, far more the latter.

Graeme Law

Can't believe Dave is the only one with Mols

Martyn Ramsay

A player can only be used once. All four teams are different. That’s the rules of the Draft and what makes it a bit of a challenge to get right

Leslie White

David’s eleven vg forward and midfield line with reliable back.

Russ

Feel like people are blinded by Adams midfield with this one, voted for Martyn's XI. I thought when listening that McCann would be a key pick in his position, surprised he wasn't picked sooner.

Martyn Ramsay

What other goalkeeper from the 00s would you have picked, with McGregor, Klos and Ronald all taken?

Ian McHutchison

Great idea and fun show with some serious recall by the lads . Unfortunately Martyn and Adam have to be DQ’d for selecting Miller and Naismith.

Duncan.lyon

Enjoyed that, good fun, “it was shite but I loved it” 😂

Graham Roy

Kirk Broadfoot was picked ahead of him in UEFA cup run so that says it all!

Scott Christian

Close run between Adam and Martyn, but think Adam shades it though within the rules 00s Albertz means there’s a lot of work for the other two midfielders!

Craig McCrimmon

Sorry lads but it's Adam by a distance Numan, Albertz & Ferguson sealed the deal

Derek Beattie

Adam's XI for me. The frontline is not as loved as the others but the midfield, goalie and defence are all class. Can I also add, where is Lafferty? Is Cammy in tears?

Derek Beattie

I almost said Andy Dibble. I just looked it up and he was 1997. My god, I'm ancient :)

Rona Bluebell

Adams team has out and out winners in it

Ritchie Lamond

Each to their own but it blew my mind when Marshall, already behind the 8-ball in having the last first round pick went for Michael Mols - great player of course… but his best days in a Rangers shirt were in the 90s. Maybe he still gets a spot but a first round pick when your rivals are targeting stalwarts and guys in problem positions seemed like shooting himself in the foot. Cracking show though!

David Marshall

Listen, I'm not saying you're all a shower of arseholes for going for flashy over a sensible and balanced title winning team. But it is what it is.

James Murdoch

Martin's team for me has best balance in terms of consistency and reliability. Did anyone else see the teams before listening to the podcast an therefore knowing the rules...was wondering what type of mad LSD the lads hae been on 🤣. Frist thing I saw was Zurab at CB...I nearly unsubscribed. Great show lads.
