The perfect tonic after yesterday’s shit show.

Steffen McAndrew

I can't wait to listen to this later. I need a tonic (like everyone else) after yesterday.

Alan Bradley

I know how you feel, I was scheduled to record next week’s show this evening or tomorrow. Could be pushed back until later in the week before I feel up for it. Thanks a bunch Rangers.

Kev Roberts

Another good show mate well done

Jim Bennett

Loved the Greig interview, a true blue legend. The Dunfermline match you reviewed I remember watching it in a bar in Corralejo, the othe Pars game you mentioned in the early 70s I went to while supposedly visiting my wife's wee auntie in Dunfermline 🤣

David Best

Sadly only 1 out of 3 this week mate. And the music is just an unhelpful distraction ……

Alan Bradley

Thanks Jim, pretty sneaky re 70s 6-1 game, hey but sometimes if you get to watch the Gers, sneaky is nice.

Alan Bradley

Ha. You’re just looking for Ultravox, Dylan and Suzanne Vega on the music front. 🎶😂

I heard “No thugs in our house” last night for about the first time in 30 years and now there it is again on your pod. Creepy! Great show, as always, and I realize it’s sacrilege, but the music is my favorite part of the pod. I was listening to a few older episodes today as well and was happy to hear you mention the Heathery Bar. I went to a few gigs there in the mid-80s, during the bar’s short lived dalliance with “indie rock”. New Model Army and The Monochrome Set. It was a bit surreal, going from Glasgow back to Wishaw to see nationally known bands.

Superb research and audio clips Alan. Especially hearing John Greig. After the weekends bitter disappointment Sam Cooke’s Cupid cheered me up as it’s one of my favourites. Enjoying the eclectic mix of songs. Maybe you could forward Dessers Springsteen’s Born To Run for inspiration. I have not given up.

Joe Burns

Best show every week. We share the very late 60/s & then 70's as our intro & love of Rangers & the music too.

Alan Bradley

Definitely surreal, especially with The Heathery Bar. I was actually born in one of the houses within that building as my parents were staying with my Grandparents for a bit in late 1961. Upstairs from mid 70s to early 80s was where my mates and I used to go to watch so many great bands. Spooky or what David?

Alan Bradley

Hopefully Dessers will settle and we’ll be heading towards the Glory Days again. 😉

David Welsh

That’s crazy, Alan! “The circle of life”, or something. It would’ve been like me going to a gig at Bellshill maternity hospital 😉

Angus Mackay

Great show as always Alan , thanks for your effort 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Andy Sladen

Fantastic show again Alan and a great mix of music news and football. I’ve been quiet with the requests for a few weeks. How about a bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees - maybe Happy House?

David Baillie

Outstanding show as usual Alan. Totally agree with your English Settlement assessment. A brilliant album. You were saying XTC were not quite rock not quite Indy. They were a difficult band to categorise but personally I always thought of them as thinking man’s punk.🤷‍♂️. Broomfield was one of my all time favourite away grounds. Being a “local” game the Law bus never travelled . It was down to the service bus from Newmains via Bellside, Cleland, Parkside, Newarthill, Chapelhall and every second lampost en route. It took almost 2 hours for a journey of 7 miles or so. Glory Days. Keep up the good work.

Andy Sladen

Thanks Alan - it really is one of my favourite shows. Another thought and a request. Cockney Rejects - war on the terraces - might be a nice segue if there is a relevant news topic in one of the years. Just a thought 😄
