April 2016 was the zenith of Mark Warburton's time as Rangers boss. Promotion was at last secured before we finally won the Petrofac Cup at the fourth time of asking. Oh, and then came a Scottish Cup Semi-Final win you just might remember...

Join Dave, Rob, Stuart and David as they continue to chart Warburton's time as boss.

I remember watching the semi in the Bank of Fleet hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet, going absolutely ballistic and hugging strangers when Rogics ball went into orbit. I also remember Hartson being so confident of a win that he had booked himself onto Clyde SSB on the Monday night. I was driving at warp speed back up the 77 to get in Clyde 1 range for 6 o’clock only to find he’d bottled it! To this day, every time I rewatch I’m convinced Law is missing that pen. 😂

I don’t know if this cheered me up or made me feel worse

Kiwi True Blues RSC had 160 in at the Paddington Bar in Parnell, Auckland, NZ, and punters were falling out windows, getting thrown out then trying to get back in wearing sunglasses at 2am. Some bloke brought a Labrador into the pub after we won on penalty kicks. Without doubt the high bar for mental atmosphere. I had to see a GP the next day as during my celebration I elbowed a Bear in the mouth and cut my elbow open on his teeth, he had to see a dentist. Another bloke I know ended up with a black eye because he fell off a table celebrating. Some night that was!

That Zelalem penalty still makes me feel funny, was sure he was missing it as well..

Was it David that said " moral victory " if we'd lost in ET or pens , after 1-1 at 90 mins even while at the game I went onto Social media 1-1 after 90 minutes I couldn't give a f*ck who wins we gave ye a game ........ 1st reply after the last penalty was a Tim " it was our throw in " , my reply " Roy Aitken stole a throw in to stop a treble " so that was him clamped ,what a game to be at and like David says you can't explain it because it's the most natural high known to man

George Higgins

Remember being in the South Stand upper watching the pens. Guy along the row asked me if I was ok as he thought I was going to have a heart attack !

I had to go to London for a work meeting first thing the day after and I think I could have flew directly to London city minus the air craft such was the highs. As David said folks coming over to offer you congratulations. A colleague down there who is a Gunner adopted us as his other team after that game and to this day still messages after big games etc his views and has his kids Gers tops. One of the best days in forty years of following.

Biggest old firm upset never to be repeated, there's a still photo which must be taken 2 seconds after Rogic's penalty and its of Craig Gordon flat out lying on his back head in hands ..... he knew how this was going to be remembered

Calum Robertson

Going through the security checkpoint at Venice airport when the penalties were taking place desperately wanting to switch my phone back on to check the result, let out a yell when it came through 👍

Nick Reilly

Was at this game & one of best games I’ve ever been at. Given the context etc was amazing

Thanks guys. This was a great episode recalling one of my best days as a Rangers fan including my eldest son’s first old firm as an 11yo (tough to beat but then there was Leipzig)

It's been a long time coming, through all the dross under Ally but what a day that was. My son Daniel was 6, just about to turn 7 when we found ourselves in the 4th tier. He watched us week in week out from our seats in West Encl and he had more than earned that day at Hampden. We still go H&A together but this one of his favourite memories of supporting Rangers (and mine!). I agree with you guys that Easter Rd for that Challenge Cup final was a seriously dark moment and the Scot Cup final wasn't much more tolerable.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the episode lads. Brilliant listen.

Craig

Remember that gobshite Michael Stewart daying there would be no point having the Petrofac final at Hampden because it would be half empty? They don't even understand us.

Andrew Meldrum

This was great. Hadn't listened to the series before, but really enjoyed this one! 😉(Just for Stuart)

Guys man. You really should have done a watch a long for the old firm game. That was first told firm game after the passing of my dad. It was the most emotional day. Tears everything

Colin Mathie

The effort it took to win 55 is now a noose around our necks imo.
