Never mind the personal stuff Alex everyone has there opinions but no need for people to get personal let’s all get behind the team now and hope we go on a winning run now

Neil McEwan

Best show on the network

Kev and Stevie spot on in terms of the assessment for me, Alex can’t get with the idea that one decision in a game costs us the other 90 minutes I’m afraid but agree with a lot of what you say otherwise. The guys are spot on about this group of players and their ability to look for scapegoats and not look at themselves. The stuff with Beale and the squad doing Gios legs was shameful and it was one of the reasons I didn’t want him in, that and I felt Gio was very very hard done to. One thing was is often ignored is that this group is now more or less ALL of Beales players, either from the first time where he used to wax lyrical about how he knew almost all the guys he signed from youth set ups or academies to the new guys he has brought in. Beale isnt dealing with someone else’s team, he didn’t inherit a team last year he basically picked up with the guys he had either worked with previously or with guys he had identified to come in prior to leaving. He talks about chasing guys for years, the only guy who hasn’t been given any players of his own was Gio. Kevs point cuts to the chase, this is the worst Celtic team we have seen since the 55 season, the circumstances in terms of squad, injuries and prep we had this season is as good as it gets but somehow we are stick unable to take the opportunity. We could stumble to the next OF game and scrape some wins but there is nothing bar random chance to suggest that he will beat them or take advantage if they stumble, thats the big issue. I didn’t want Gio out, I wanted him to have time but I dont feel the same with Beale, he has given nothing in terms of solid evidence to show he has what it takes and he has used up all the good will that would have given him the time to change minds for me. As a final tongue in cheek point…. Everytime Stevie waxes lyrical about how a team is in a bad place or a bin fire they use it to go out and beat us, we must currently be the team everyone fancies could be he game that springboards them onto a run. We are soft, I suspect people love our confidence and the reality is that Scottish teams with far less in terms of squad or management nous routinely make it very hard for us or even turn us over. The myth of Beale the coach or developer of players just doesn’t hold up, in all his spells here theres little to point to of him developing or improving a player. He has a hard shift to convince me he has what it takes, if he turns it around I will be delighted but at the moment we are operating on blind faith and the rallying cries of ‘come on get behind him’ which is fine if thats your bag but I need to see far far more.

Pounding thoroughly undeserved Alex - I think anyone putting their head up above the parapet that day was getting it. Well done you as well for calling out the massive impact that the refereeing incompetence had on that game. Beale's obvious failings aside, if that goal stands, I don't think we lose that game. Still raging about it, and just hope Saturday doesn't add to it!

Simon

Don’t back doon, double doon. 😂😂😂

Simon

Sorry Alex, the biggest single factor on the day is the players didn’t know what they are supposed to do. Beale is a fraud.

Russ

To be fair, it was the same under Gio. I've half a mind that comprehension with some of these players is a bit of an issue.

John Smith

I’ve got an awful feeling about tomorrow. Someone tell me I’m wrong….please

Simon

Russ, as a manager he needs to know what his players abilities are. That includes their ability to understand but most importantly his ability to communicate his plan. If they don’t understand what he’s asking then his plan has failed before they leave the dressing room. That is my issue, it seemed that way in last seasons OFs,most of the pre season games and all but the last 10 minutes against Livingston in the league they have looked lost. Get him out.

Russ

On the long ball style, Goldson is absolutely chronic on the deck in big games - to the point where it's detrimental. He might hit 1 pearler over the top in 5 but that doesn't mean he's a ball playing centre half. There's a conversation that fans aren't willing to have about playing Souttar on the right side that I've asked for awhile..we criticise Borna for his crossing but Goldson and his long balls is just as brutal.

Martin Boyd

Alex ignore the idiots you are as entitled to you option as anyone else. As for the disallowed goal , you are correct that counts we win the game an appalling decision by the on field ref( no surprise) but mostly by the VAR one.

Martin Boyd

Didn’t realise Mitov was at Saints , seen him plenty for Cambridge , good shot stopper but awful distribution from hand or feet.

Spoon

Russ in fairness Gio had about 14 guys to pick who felt sorry for themselves and he signed none of them, Beales had every advantage going

Russ

Also Alex gave me strong Benitez and his 'facts' speech vibes when talking about the disallowed goal. Was brilliant. Fully agree as well.

Alan Ryder

Sad to hear Alex has been getting a bit of grief for his views. I always find him to be the voice of reason in the Rangers support and a great counter-balance to the majority who always seem to want to set everything on fire. Find myself agreeing with Alex more than most other podders. What makes this the best Rangers pod on the platform is Steven's "scouting" of the opposition and the balance of opinions you tend to get. Keep up the good work lads.

John Smith

Alex, morons will be morons. I always love to hear you on shows. You always bring some much needed reassurance. Thank you

Rona Bluebell

Chin up Alex. People are hurt and angry and a wee bit daft. Keep podding 🥰

Mark

Alex, you are one of my favourite contributors here. I've seen some of the ridiculous shite that has been leveled at you on FF. It's just angry wee men ranting. Your views bring a much needed balance to the debate and I always enjoy reading/hearing them.

Stewart Robertson

Alex - well done mate. You stood by your comments. In this day and age it’s refreshing to hear - all too often public figures/politicians/you name it will shit the bed when what they say is no the “correct” opinion, and say they were misquoted or they “misspoke“, and that they are sorry and will try harder.if that’s your opinion, then people should accept it as just that - AN OPINION. WATP.

Harold mccartney

Alex I disagreed with mostly everything you said on the car pod but never did it enter my mind to go online and abuse a fellow Rangers fan for having a different opinion than me, you do a brilliant job on the preview so don’t let a few wankers get you down, keep up the good work. My favourite trio on the preview

David MacT

There seems to be a narrative at the moment that things are turning 'toxic', or have done, for Michael Beale. It's ironic as there is nothing more toxic than the online Rangers support. There is a huge element of our online fanbase that love nothing more than ripping our own to shreds, whether it be players, manager, board and even normal guys like Alex. The 'mob' go after everyone who doesn't want to hate everything, and there's no debating with them. They seem to think you're some sort of enemy if you don't see everything Rangers related as awful and terrible and everyone must be replaced constantly. You see it on twitter constantly but none more so than that utter cesspit FF. It seems as it drives traffic its allowed, however it's the reason you see so little of guys that were on there years ago, and who you could have a debate with, on there nowadays as anyone with half a brain would avoid that place like the plague nowadays. Fair play to you Alex for bringing it up. I'll never understand the current arrogance of these clowns online who believe everyone should always adhere to their way of thinking.

Gregg

Spot on - it’s not the same when he’s not on. Anyone dishing out personal abuse to someone for having a different opinion about a game is a fucking numpty.

Gregg

Agree wholeheartedly with this - online it seems the support is never more engaged than when having something to whine about. Dunno if it’s post 2012 but we seem to have a lot of angry men amongst us.

Iain Campbell

Steven is bang on regarding MBs take on the last game. I couldn't actually believe his post match comments

David Innes

Great show guys. I haven’t listened to many pods since the OF defeat so that helped me get a bit of perspective back. I’d love it if Beale managed to turn it round but I think I’m in agreement with Kev - he’s as good as done and it will probably happen the next time we drop points which will almost certainly be before the next international break

Scott Barnett

In relation to what Alex said about Beale getting spooked I feel it was the olimpiacos game, I feel you could see shoots of what he wanted to play v Newcastle and then after the game at ibrox iv had a different vibe from this team

David Gilfillan

Fail to understand why none of you have opted for having Roofe in your line up for Saturday.

David Gilfillan

Yeah Can relate to that . Understood Kevin

George Harrison

Sorry to hear about the personal abuse Alex, that is out of order. I agree with most of what you said on this pod, however, labelling the goal v that lot as simply being a ‘freak’ goal is in my opinion wrong … it was very poor defending followed by a superb finish. If we scored that goal we’d have been raving about it for weeks ! The culprit, once again, was Goldson, with a dreadful attempted clearance … I watch this guy every week in the pre-match warm up, and for his height and power he is a very poor header of a ball. His timing is all wrong and he gets no distance on his clearances.

Chris Scott

Alex ready to offer the listeners outside 2 weeks later 😂

Scott Tolmie

“Matondo has played himself out the starting 11”, have a word with yourself, probably not 1 passmark, give the guy a break

Scott Watson

Brilliant discussion gentlemen, thank you very much. I've enjoyed the experimentation and different voices on the pod this season but the original triumvirate take some beating Alex, I was disgusted with the abuse you took and I'm glad you called it out. Some people need to have a word with themselves. Your views and thoughtful nature are highly valued by many 2-1 Rangers
