Just lol at injuries. Perhaps we should all just expect them!

Paul Kerr

I get that the manager is being upbeat but I wince at the phrase " The core of this squad established itself in Europe" after the summer of change and last season's performances.

Gary Shaw

I don’t get when fans say , “the EL is our level”..there is no evidence whatsoever in that statement…the core of players that played such big parts in those games aren’t there anymore like Morelos.Kent,Kamara,Bassey,Aribo,McGregor and a good 3 months of Lundstram….We need to take off the Seville shades and realise this group of players are miles off it

Rona Bluebell

Deary me. It’s like we’re jinxed.

Colin Mathie

I was half joking the other day on twitter when i said we needed someone in to perform an exorcism on the club to get rid of this god damn injury curse, so much for re-employing this doctor to fix things, that clearly hasn't worked.

David bit of a random one but do you think the opposite could be true for the argument to not build a side with young/academy players being that it can't be done? We have a monopoly on the best talent and if ever you can do it then surely its when you're making 10x more than third place? The problems would come in Celtic and Europe granted, but doing what Ajax do is feasible in our position in Scotland. I know the support has 0 patience but could they get behind that shift in philosophy? We might lose(as we are now) but at least they'd represent the fans, its a question we need to seriously ask i think. All this unrest has me wondering haha.

David Innes

For this squad I think the conference league is our level - if we can’t win the group I’d rather we came 3rd to drop in there with a chance of an extended run than finish 2nd and have to face a CL dropout

Dave Fleming

The other disadvantage of the homegrown rule for small countries is that you have a smaller talent pool to begin with, and many are poached by clubs down south at 16 to qualify as homegrown. But it’s meant to stop the EPL hoovering up all the best players

Graham Jones

I guess the doc has his work cut out. Something never got picked up, so that’s a concern possibly. Sometimes injuries just hit you all at once and it’s tough to manage. I’m glad the manager decided to keep Matondo, because he’s been one of our best performers this season I know that’s not a high bar right now, but he’s a goal threat and has shown more than enough to demonstrate why he’s still at the club. I honestly thought he’d be sold, so it was a wise choice by the manager on that one. UEFA need to loosen the rules in future, because they are far too draconian. It ruins the competition as well.

Ross Matheson

Yeah, the "core" of that European success story from its inception in 2018 walked out the door for less than £10m combined fees and more than 2 of them left for nothing at all. We're left with the ones who aren't all that.

What would happen if all of our 1st team Scottish players were injured and we couldnt submit a legal squad?
