Greg

These players have a lot to answer for .

John Smith

A coaching staff of guys who get Rangers is absolutely what is needed

Rona Bluebell

Thanks for putting this together so quickly.

Euan Dover

Weight off the chest. Think appointing Stevie D is quite shrewd - will help to remove some of the toxicity and get fans back on side.

Rod

UEFA give you 60 days grace re the uefa pro licenses so not an immediate concern on that front.

John Smith

As I understand it Beale was also filling the role left by Wilson. Whose responsibility is that now ?

William Cunningham

Sad day but it had to happen. Wish Beale all the best for the future. No idea who we will be getting now. As always we will all be here supporting the team.

Declan Cairns

From the old firm car pod saying it’d be mental to want Beale gone to honestly being a relief hes away a month later. Honestly amazed how bad he was. Never wanted him and really wish he proved me wrong

Craig Kennedy

Hope the podders are on double time wages tonight. Glad it's done, hope we get a new manager/the right manager soon

Billy Forrester

Wish MB and his family all the best, never worked but his heart was in it, it’s sad but had to happen

Iain watson

No surprise Alec Rae was in the directors box on saturday

Nicky Cuzin

All the best to Steven Davis! I loved him as a player and he has my full support as an interim and even, if he performs well, full-time Manager of Rangers Football Club!

David

Interim coach with a European pro license. Save your anger for another day mate.

Gregg McKee

Sorry Cammy no kudos to the board. 4 weeks and 3 points too late. Many of them appointed him. This is their last chance to get this right.

AmoRangers

McInnes to the end of the season. DOF appointed by December, prepping bts for the summer revamp. We desperately need someone who plays good football, not full back cross & inshallah

Craig Murray

Never nice seeing someone losing their job, but this had to happen. Delighted with the interim team, we need more Rangers fans involved in the coaching side.

Danny

Tav needs stripped of the armband. The best thing a new manager can do is come in and take some scalps. Make them know who the boss is. None of this pals act shite. Butland should be the captain going forward.

Alan Baxter

One of the first tasks of new manager should be changing the captain. Play Sterling at RB with Tav pushed on into midfield if need be

maccalsa

Looks like Steve Davis and Alex Rae will be the interim, i posted yesterday that the board were only delaying the inevitable while they sorted out something that would appease the fans. Looks like we have gone the way of footballing nepotism, for now

David Baillie

If the board haven’t been actively looking for a new manager since the Celtic game it will have been a gross dereliction of duty. This outcome was completely predictable if not inevitable.

Alan Cowan

Hopefully the charlatans that have been wearing the famous colours can look in the mirror. Hopefully a few that have saw more managers away will be given the January window to exit the club

Jamiedfa

About time, do we ha e faith the board can get the next appointment right?

Gary Shaw

Even our manager is injured….Sorry lads and ladies, couldn’t help myself

Chris Wight

More needs to be made about the boards failure to appoint a fit and proper person (a director of football) to select the next manager. It had been 7 months since Wilson left and all we’ve heard is that an extensive recruitment process is being conducted. This position should have been filled before the start of the summer to give Beale, an inexperienced manager, some knowledge and expertise when conducting the summer business. The board have put themselves in a position where if the next appointment isn’t a successful one the board will be taking both barrels of the backlash.

Bryan

The best for everyone involved I’ve no bad feeling towards him he just wasn’t good enough

James Anderson

The interim team looks weak, i would have liked Kevin Thomson to be there...if only to kick ass

John Smith

On the point about having a vision, the best managers have many different visions. Mick only had one and when it didn’t work out he had no backup

Graeme Dempster

Unfortunately with the state he's left the club in... I doubt that Pep could make a success with the garbage in that squad.. depressing

Stephen

Is McInnes going to give up a permanent job to be a caretaker manager? It’s a thankless task unless by some miracle he managed to win the league. He would be mad to consider that.

WILLIAM JACK

Get to the international break with no further damage in the league and it's possible a more experienced manager with returning players can get the team playing cohesive football. From there its trying to eat away at the lead of a currently far-from-impressive Celtic side. I wouldn't be betting the mortgage on us but I'm not giving up on the league yet.

Gordon Smith

The bears have been incredibly loyal, maybe even uniquely loyal. It can’t keep up forever if we are getting nothing back. The days of automatic sell outs may be coming to an end. This is not just about appointing a new manager it’s about confidence in the processes at the club.

aldo adens

Since 2011 we have had McCoist , Warburton , Pedro , Gerrard , Gio , Beale and now we are looking for our 7th permanent manager since then and more alarming our 4th permanent manager since Nov 2021.

John Hood

Wouldn't be surprised if a few of our injuries clear up a wee bit quicker than projected.

James Anderson

Give Jack Butland the captains armband

Mr J K Murray

good luck to michael & his staff. Like others had many chances to lay many markers, tims are weaker & he has,& with other managers, with their staff, made a continious stammering over results & standard of players. Many managers would want to manage us,to produce a team of Scottish Champions & to do well in Europe. the board have supplied championship managers, with all the amenities for success to produce a stlye [something at least] of a winning football team, it has been the opposite though, to me it has been continious bad managment, some of these players bought in for many years have not even been watched before contract exchange, & buying injuries of unjured players, understand our level of wealth but we offer more than what any player can hope [help] for, why is the managment selling thier club ,our club short, Its not just the manager but the staff that come with him, reformation protestants would be ok & not bunch of blessers,

Colin McL.

Hopefully the stressing of “former Rangers” isn’t the mindset of the Board as this appointment process begins.

David whyte

Hopefully the next manager will be brave and not respect the teams in Scotland as Beale did

James Cameron

What a mess this club is in 3 managers in 3 year. Gio and his team probably still getting paid and now Beale and his team. The biggest problem at the club is those running the club 2 manager appointments 2 failures which is unsustainable. The next manager has to be an experienced manager we have had not had an experienced manager since Walter.

Doogz

He had his chance of managing Rangers, and thankfully he bottled it

Graham Ross

Thanks for the podcast lads on a Sunday night. The Board MUST get this appointment right, but in the short term Im sure Steven Davis will steady us.

Graeme Macpherson

Agree with David at the end there - for the love of Christ, a previous link with us is not an essential part of the job criteria. Souness, Smith, Advocaat, McLeish, Gerrard had no previous link to Rangers when they took over the hotseat for the first time and delivered success. Messrs Greig, McCoist, van Bronckhorst, and Beale had all been involved in huge successes and delivered not very much in the dugout. Competent football manager who wins or is likely to win stuff is the criteria.

Spoon

He won’t come without his team and his team isn’t really aligned to us anyway.

C. J

Gutted for the guy, but he was not capable.

C. J

He can be a dressing room enforcer. Davis can be the brains.

Allan Osborne

Glad he's gone but a bit worried about where we go from here. Outwith Gerrard our choice of managers in the last decade is not exactly stellar 😕

Tamus

Absolutely not gutted in the slightest - an absolute fraud

David Campbell

This is the biggest appointment in our history the board can't get this wrong. Then the next man must be given time I feel we are back to just before we appointed Gerrard but with a better squad. A full culture change is required in that dressing room along with a fresh tactical outlook on the park. If we get that the fans will be right behind the new guy be interesting to see where beale goes next Saudi

Alan Colligan

That was bizarre when everyone knew this decsion should have been taken almost a month ago. Fair play to Ross for stating this

Piggott

Great pods lads, the club will have a list of potential managers even going back to early on with Stewart Robertson he said we do that but football changes quickly guys get sacked, get new contracts and until we actually speak to the guys don't know if even interested in coming before we even get to wages or budget, this is not a easy appointment there is no obvious person like recent appointments

Callum Dinnen

Warburton, Pedro and Gio all had plenty of experience prior to taking the Rangers job.

Stuart McWilliams

Unless we are appointing someone with truckloads of experience, I think we'll see the interim managerial team until Christmas (at the earliest). We need an overhaul behind the scenes and that probably means getting a DOF type in first.

dotty 84

Managers appointment will possibly take it past the International break. And I don't mind that, it needs to be correct and putting a time constraint on the next appointment wouldn't be wise.

Ronnie Gallacher

We need this to be right as we can’t be sacking managers every year, that is not acceptable for any club far less ours. We also need to remove ourselves from this notion or need for the new manager to be a Rangers man or know anything about us, we need a leader, a manager with experience, a plan and a clear style on the pitch that we as fans can buy in to and support. We should not be placing a time limit on how long this process may take, this must be the right decision so let the board take as long as required.

Alastair McGeoch

Beale had to go but it damning we are taking about Davis and Rae going in and being clear with the squad the standards required at Rangers. Tav as captain has been at the club for 8 years and should absolutely know the standards required at Rangers. The he has seen off more managers than he has won trophies shows and new manager needs to gut the squad. It’s hard to have confidence in the board as it’s clear we had no real strategy since we won the league. Even Beale was a myopic decision to replace Gio - he’d been a manager in his own right for 3 months and we chase him down because it was the easy thing to do, not the right thing to do. We need an experienced leader now and I worry the board will be threatened by that so will go for someone who makes them comfortable rather than someone who is going to drive standards at Rangers.
