John Smith

Well said Mark Bridges 👏

John Smith

Pep Guardiola said he has the “wow” factor…..just saying

John Smith

No offence Alfie but you’re really wrong. But you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. And if the worst should happen you can blame me

John Smith

No doubt those are factors Alfie but I’ve been wanting Kevin Muscat as Rangers boss back to the days of Warburton and Pedro

Laura Clarke

Balance between coach and leader/figurehead…Ralph Hasenhüttl

Kris

Replacements stauner activated

Euan Dover

I’m warming towards Muscat. I think some semblance of high intensity and enjoyable football to watch is a bigger factor than it’s ever been in an appointment.

David Baillie

Probably just too late for the Daily but given the breaking news that cinch are terminating the SPFL contract 2 years early, can Teflon Doncaster survive? Asking for a friend.

C. J

I like him. It’s him, Lopetegui or Clement for me.

Kris

Like Dead Mans Pop I prefer some and hate others but the originals have been with me a long long time so to be expected

David Larosa

Of course he will, if Russia decides to nuke us all, the only survivors will be the cockroaches and Doncaster, same thing tbf

Spoon

Like the sound of Jansen from what I heard on the Euro pod, still not feeling the Muscat bandwagon and Allardyce would be genius or disaster with a fine fine line in between! Very much hope things go well for Davis and however long he is in he gets the player buy in.

Callum Dinnen

I don't think the fact Muscat is an ex-player factors into anyone's thinking. He played 20 games for us in one season more than 20 years ago.

Jamie Kirk

Clement failed at the first big club he went to - Monaco. Jansen hasn’t done well with AZ this season. Small club too. Lampard should be exciting but it feels so wrong to bring him in. Muscat - going to be put under so much pressure to deliver like ange did. There’s nothing exciting. Nothing feels like it fits. Really hope the board no what they are doing and get it right. We are constantly taking backwards and sideways steps. Would just love Davis to get it right and have him in for 10 years. Wish we had sacked Beale a few weeks earlier. Gattuso would have been available. Not saying he’s the best manager or coach as he’s been pretty unsuccessful but at least it would be interesting lol

Jamie Kirk

I do think there’s a subliminal train of thought that a pro footballer cannot fully accept and respect a manager who’s never been a footballer themselves. I think there’s exceptions. Very rare. But mostly. As much as a footballer will try and be professional and convince themselves it doesn’t matter I think deep down they don’t take a non footballer manager as seriously as one who has been there and done it. It’s an interesting discussion.

Callum Dinnen

I think the comment about Beale thinking he'd cracked it is spot on. He hasn't evolved tactically from the two 10s system that nobody else in football has implemented.

Graeme McLeod

I think Boyd is spot on about Beale. Even read Banfield compare Beale to various managerial greats - he was a cheerleader for a guy who very much bought into his own spin. Club need to be wary of letting managers pick their entire backroom staff going forward.

Mark Rennie

What's happen3d to the Warburton era?

Ewan Christie

Oliver Glasner. Get it done, no fucking about.

Russ

You're not a Rangers fan if a smidgeon of you doesn't want Davis to succeed when watching these pressers and interviews. That would be the ideal for me - but rn I think we all want experience and success in charge. Btw, Ally endorsing Lampard before him is strange. He's on strings methinks.

David Campbell

Oh a fancy looking new site I hate change 😂

Brian Rae

Boyd is spot on and I hope those on the board who appointed him and gave him the keys to the castle are throughly embarrassed by their extremely poor judgement and decision making. On that, if they are seriously considering Lampard/Wilder they've learned nothing and deserve every bit of criticism that will inevitablely come their way. TBH, I'm dreading who they might appoint because they MUST get this one right. Incidently, I watched that podcast with Sam Allardyce and what he said about what he does when he comes into a new club is exactly what we need, and have needed for years. It was a good watch.

Jim Milne

Liking the new updated app. Talking a lot of sense as always David.

Kev Roberts

Kris Boyd lol 😆 😂 Very true to be fair

Leslie Hibbert

The unknown of Muscat is FAR more appealing than the idea of Lampard. I don't want either, but Lampard sees us fukt I'm afraid, and that is an absolute certainty

Robert White

I hope we wait till new year, to see if Steve Davis can do this, would love that.

David Baillie

Very interesting topic. I can’t think of too many great managers who didn’t have a playing career of any note. I don’t think Mourinho played much. The number of legendary managers who had a modest playing background far outnumbers the successful managers who were playing superstars. Busby, Shankly, Paisley, Ferguson, Smith, McLean, Craig Brown, Hererra, Ramsay come to mind. Players who could possibly be bracketed as journeymen but achieved great things in a managerial sense.

Rona Bluebell

I haven’t a scooby who would be the best but I’ll back whoever it is (though think Lampard would be a crazy choice).

Craig

Billy Davies, quality comedy! As funny as Lampard!

Graham Ross

Loving the new look, subs going up soo? :-)

Adam

Loving the daily tune. The Replacements don't get aired often nowadays but what a band!

Andrew Carter

Tune ! I see the lp Tim is being reissued 👍

GlasgowBear

Wenger as well had a relatively small playing career. But yeah there aren’t many at all.

John Palmer

Ever since I heard Gallardo's name getting mentioned, I just can't seem to get past him being the Ultimate Gaffer for us right now based on what he did for River Plate and his Legend status there with him being honoured with his own statue which marks his achievements.

Ewan Christie

See if we do appoint Muscat and he’s a failure, you’re getting fucking slaughtered 😂

Gregg

Az are second in the league this year - 6 wins and a draw. I know nothing about him but I’d class that as doing well. Gattuso done well at Milan, they were in financial meltdown at the time and sure he qualified them for the champions league - he also done pretty well at Napoli before falling out with the owner. Not suggesting him just think he is a bit underrated and his personality gives people a certain impression

Jamie Kirk

Fabio Cannovaro anyone?
