One of the saddest stories you’ll ever hear

John Smith

I’d love to hear you guys cover the 1974 Zaire World Cup team

Gary Staff

Too young for the 94 World Cup 😀

Ross Hunter

Thoroughly enjoyed this guys, great listen. 👌🏻

John Palmer

The Doco on Netflix about this is outstanding. It was said that if Pablo Escobar was around when Escobar the Player was killed, it would've never have happened as he was such a Football Fanatic.

John Palmer

I remember when this happened which was unbelievable to fathom for a boy at the age of 16 at the time. Totally unreal that he was killed for scoring an own goal.

Brian Johnstone

Really enjoyed that. I remember thinking the same as the 9yo nephew at the time…tragic. Also loved the Narcos and Mexican Narcos.

Gregg

Good story - glad it wasn’t just about narcos 😂😂. Loved that Colombia side and had backed them for the 94 World Cup. Loved big Valderama. Btw - England didn’t qualify in 94 so weren’t one of the faves. Holland knocked them out in groups

Gregg

I just watched narcos again - did kinda find it glamorous but he didn’t have a code. He left bombs that killed thousands of innocent people - women and kids - and he was essentially a terrorist towards the end.

Don’t disagree in principle, Gregg. I think he did have a bit of a code and show some restraint in the early years, but only to serve his own interests. However, as the net closed in the facade dropped and he slaughtered a lot of innocent people

Probably fair. If you haven’t read - the book killing pablo is tremendous. Same author as black hawk down
