Good to hear Andy on the pod! Hope you and your family are ok mate.

John Smith

Always great to hear you Andy. You stay safe my friend 🇮🇱

I’m confident the fitness issues of the club will be improved with Big Phil. We need supreme fitness to punch above our weight in Europe. The domestic league has evidenced , that they have eclipsed our squad on that measure. Great to hear Andy, just reiterates why Rangers fans are no 1 on the planet. 🇮🇱🇬🇧💙 No Surrender brother

Thoughts and prayers for Andy B and his loved ones. Stay safe. 🇮🇱

Good chat, but he likes to give youth a chance? He likes his teams to play quick football? As opposed to the raft of managers, we have signed who all hate playing young players and love the indoctrination of slow negative sideways football. Quick incisive football by young or old players is primarily down to two things the quality of the players available and the ability for the coach to relay his message clearly to the team who buy in in an enthusiastic manner. Can we just see how things pan out?

Heart and Hand

I don’t really think we could justify charging for shows that went ‘Hi everyone, thanks for joining us. We’ll see how things pan out. Goodnight.’

Good to hear you Andy! Stay safe.

I didn't say that, so please don't try and turn my point into a strawman. However, since you mentioned the justification of charging. Is there real value in repeating soundbites like he is a manager who gives youth a chance. Or he likes to play attractive fast football. These are a bit of nothing statements, right? Tell me a manager who views himself as a manager who plays crap football and doesn't trust young players. I magine the same could have been said about Gio or Beale Maybe you could look at what's he's done while and when he's doing it rather than what he will do when he hasn't? That would be an ongoing analytical view of the managers' progress and performance over, say, the previous month. That would provide and value for money ongoing review content and certainly worth a listen... just an idea

There has been a couple of pods already with Belgian and French dudes talking - with another couple to come I think. Interesting to hear what he has done at previous clubs and all for seeing how it pans out - but that’s been decent content so far. It was suggested on the update - quote from a guy who coached or played with him - that he likes fast wingers. So he’s only gonna find them in the youth team as we certainly don’t have anyone matching that description. Looking forward to the Hibs game

I never thought I’d hear the words lethal striker and Dessers in the same sentence. 😀

Heart and Hand

We’ve done that already, and part two of the in-depth look of his time at Monaco drops tomorrow. The simple rule of thumb applies: if you don’t like a show, don’t listen. It may be of no interest to you, but it may be to others. And of course we’ll analyse him when he gets going.

Don't listen then and save the rest of us from reading crap like that, it's a rangers pod that talk about rangers ffs.

John Palmer

I'm actually looking forward to this weekends game and will watch it from the couch rather than behindn it.

There won’t be any clear out. He’ll have a limited budget that can increase if he can sell players, because we’re going to find out soon about new stands the board have chosen to prioritise. We can argue what should be the priority, and the board may change their mind, but they see raising capacity as crucial because it increases annual revenue. Until the clubs get FFP kicked out then this is the one sure fire way to increase our annual budget for new players. It’s going to be about Clement’s man management initially and then he’ll see if he can get more from players who have been disappointing.

Simon H&H

The former point. It is literally what he does in fairness regards youth. He even mentioned it in his opening press conference yesterday that he’s not afraid to give the younger lads a shot. And that’s also how the foreign media have perceived it. The former point on an analytical view re ongoing and current at the club will be with Adam on tactics talk as he regularly does anyway with Ally where they’ll also mention the formations and youth stuff I’d suggest. The show was merely a reaction pod to the appointment from three fans who while trying to be positive, and we were, also didn’t shirk anything and raised concerns as many would have. Again, that’s probably down to the players. Some of us will back the clean slate talk, me, certainly not as I am done with some of them due to continually failing when pressure is on.

I’d offer Martindale to be the Scottishy element. He’d be good value as a long term element to the staff.

Heart and Hand

See to be honest, I’d question any first-team manager in the league wanting to give it up to be a coach. He wouldn’t do it and I don’t blame him.

Jock Paterson

I’d imagine he’d be cheap even doubling his wages. Can see your point with a perceived step down though.

Heart and Hand

Yeah financially it would probably be bigger but I think if you’re your own man you should be looking to move up in that area than back into just coaching.

Jock Paterson

Personally I’d be asking the question, a far better option than Rae, Ferguson or McCann.

Doug

As ever when a new manager comes in, I'm optimistic and hope for the best. I agree that some of the new players have more than I think they've shown so far. Lammers in particular has been involved in a few goals this year and if more can be gotten from his general play I think he can absolutely contribute. I do think many of the older players mentioned have come to the end of their tenure with the club, however I still think Tavernier has a lot to offer. He is the one player who has maintained his numbers and performance on the whole over the years and I think he can improve this season under better management. I for one want to see him lift more trophies as captain to cement what should be a great legacy but despite his individually excellent output, has been hampered by the team's lack of trophies. That being said, I can see how fresh voices in the dressing room could be of benefit now, so I'm not 100% against him potentially being replaced as captain come next season, depending on how things go, if Clement brings in his own men.

Alan Keegan

Excellent discussion gents. A very enjoyable podcast episode. Well done.

Good to hear Andy on the show. Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱

Thanks for some of the decent responses by some and the comment by James. Speaking to the former  It's hard to know the content of a pod without listening. it's kind of how it works. I listened to this particular pod as I enjoy the content of most of the guys on it, who, though i don't always agree with, have takes that i may not have considered and are well made. This time, I just couldn't see it, which is why I commented To the latter, I got to call the obvious. I know it's a Rangers pod, we pay for it, creaters and subscribers which sometimes conflict but all care about one core thing Rangers, safe from all that petty mud slinging on other forums... usually  So you enjoy your content your way. I'll enjoy it mine. I'll comment when I see fit. If you want to comment, knock yourself out. If not, don't. Just so we are clear.

Hopefully we not only see a move towards youth players but come January, a shift in our recruitment. I would rather target a young prospect doing well in a smaller league, than try & turn around a guy floundering in a top league. We need to target players who enjoy taking responsibility & continue to persevere when a crowd is on his back. Only then can we do what we should’ve been doing 3 years ago, which is phase Tav out. Until then, he’s still the 1st name on the teamsheet IMO.
