Apologise to the Captain boys ☺️

Mark

Too many of our players cheat when it comes to closing down. On first look you think they are doing their job but you watch back and they're half arsing it. Tav was never close enough to stop the cross for their first goal despite having plenty time to get there. Cochrane could have crossed with his left or right foot and Tav could have done nothing about. An absolutely shocking 90 minutes from our skipper. Amazing that he walks away with a goal and an assist. 😁

Rona Bluebell

Awww you all having a cuddle is lovely. 🥰

james whyte

Was never in doubt. Well, except from the first 90 mins.

Bob MacCallum

As proved again in today's pathetic display, my friend Cyriel wouldn't even cope in the Women's team. Even the girls would brush him aside, bully him and outpace him. Bring on Nicola Docherty - if only.

Bob MacCallum

Tav had a shocker. Was getting booed before half time. But, hey, he scores with his 2nd pen and his "assist" was an overhit cross that the big defender should have headed away but missed. So suddenly our stats skipper is a hero with a goal and an "assist".

John McTrusty

Despite Tav not stopping the cross at source for the Hearts goal, Yilmaz is not equipped to compete with an opponent who is significantly taller. That amounts to every opponent on the pitch in the modern game. His stats also point to no tackles having been made by Yilmaz today, which is not helping his case defensively either. His crosses were constantly overhit by miles and his overall contribution minimal. He was not the worse for us by any stretch of the imagination, which tells it,s own story...but it was inevitable that Colin would defend his failure at their goal (completely opposite with Borna and Tav when they get done at back post)and not call out Yimaz terrible service/delivery and support of the forward play (again completely opposite stance for Borna). Yilmaz most important contribution was taking the ball to the corner in the last minute. Agree....no MOTM today for us.

Rod

Yilmaz was terrible today, wasted almost everything on the left.

Rod

Not sure why your air quoting his assist, a bit weird tbh.

Doogz

Sorry Bob not having that, Danilo moves as if he’s going in front then peels of to back post, Tav delivery was inch perfect, the guy deserves credit never hides even when things aren’t going right. No chance we turn that around under Beale, we were miles off it for most of the game, but comebacks like today are what supporters love, we need to build on this under Clement.

Gary Shaw

I know I it’s early days in to his tenture but I think the manager has severely dodged a bullet with that lineup today coz that was on him if we dropped points…how he can say he’s watched every game this season then managed 2 game, yet still picks Dessers and Lammers is absolutely staggering

Heart and Hand

The cross from Tav was absolutely perfect. By all means criticise his other crosses - first half in particular - but that one was delicious.

KAD87

Know who would improve our squad? Hagi and Lowry.

Gary Shaw

My main concern about this squad is that too many of them can’t/won’t do the fundamentals like make the right pass, track runners, stop crosses, shoot…if we were carrying 2/3 players then it would be an easy fix but it’s literally nearly every outfield player that struggles with the basics.

Granters

Yilmaz is just a bizarre signing. Add his fee to Dessers and Lammers and you’re well north of £10m. We just can’t afford to waste that kind of cash.

KAD87

Is Hagi better than Lammers? And factually, has he provided a large volume of assists during a season where we have won a league? Is Lowry better than Lammers?

Gary Shaw

Hagi is garbage and lives off his Daddy’s name…both are better than Lammers which isn’t saying much…Lowry is a proper player if he’s given the chance…

KAD87

So Hagi is better than Lammers but wouldn’t improve our squad?

Gary Shaw

Stats are like mini skirts and all that jazz…our Captain has about a million goal contributions and there’s a large portion of our fans who want him hung on a weekly basis…over the course of a game,Hagi is a man down..no decent attributes to note but he says Ibrox baby and our fans fall head over heels about him

KAD87

He’s never been given a chance since the injury? I would argue if he was given the game time that Lammers has been given we’d see more assists and goal contributions than we have with Lammers…easily.

KAD87

I don’t get your point. Think we can all agree that Lammers contributes next to nothing. But because Hagi has been injured or in recovery since about 4 months into the season after we won the league, he is no use and wouldn’t be an improvement on the dug meat Lammers produces?

Gary Shaw

I’m better than Lammers but I wouldn’t improve the squad…because someone is better than a player that is absolutely hopeless doesn’t mean it would improve the squad…in terms of ability there’s not much between Hagi and Lammers imo

Gary Shaw

If you can honestly say that over the course of a game that Hagi is a good player then I can’t change your mind …for me,he is absolutely garbage…

Gregg

Hagi doesn’t consistently perform over 90 minutes - but if he is played consistently he had delivered goals and assists. He has moments in games - which are often decisive - without being a top performer throughout them. He isn’t the messiah but to say he is garbage is absolute bullshit

Jamiedfa

I would like to know why Alex thinks Shankland is not good enough for us when we have duds like Dessers?

KAD87

So we have a player that is better than one of the existing players but bringing him back wouldn’t be an improvement? Not sure on the logic of that tbh.

Doug

Danilo specifically peels off to the back post having initially come inside. It’s when Tav sees this that he curls the ball into that area, straight onto his head. It was a perfectly hit ball, nothing over hit about it.

Doug

That’s one for the “never a captain” crowd for me. Despite personally having a poor game, Tav never stopped, never gave up & never hid. Would have been easy to give the 2nd pen away, but he stepped up & took responsibility when the pressure moment came then found that bit of quality after a dire 90 mins to assist for the winner. That’s what great players do, they make key contributions even when they aren’t playing well. Find ways to win even when not playing well. That’s why his numbers are what they are. Whether he’s at his best or struggling to get anything right, invariably he contributes something come the end of the day, and quite often that something digs us out a hole. If that’s not a captain then there’s no point in having one.

ivor swan

Mcausland needs to play before wright every time

Pedro

Lundstrom booking wasn't even a foul tbf.

Danny

Tav had a poor game, but yet again he pulls a win out his arse through a sheer will to win. I’ll admit, I’ve called him a shitebag loser before. I was wrong though. Put Tav into any one of Walter Smiths sides and he wins an absolute bucket load of medals, I’d argue he’s one of the few winners at the club just now. Dessers and Lammers playing is like playing with 9 men. Every time the ball goes through them, the play gets broken down. They’ve had long enough to prove themselves they need to be gone. Dessers has LITERALLY had more chances at goal by getting in the way and ball bouncing off him, than he’s cleanly hit a shot on goal.

Gregg

Showed some balls to take the second pen that’s for sure

Gregg

I agree with Alex - just because dessers is poor doesn’t mean that any striker who looks better than him, we should be snapping up

David Baillie

My thoughts entirely Doug. The Rangers supporters who criticise him won’t realise the contribution he makes to the team until he’s gone. He had a shocker. Passing poor, crosses diabolical, his body language looked like a guy who had just lost a winning lottery ticket. However as you rightly pointed out he never hid, he was always willing to take the ball and showed tremendous bottle to take that second penalty. Just as a footnote, my grandson, who loves his stats was telling me Tav is now in the world all time top ten of defenders for goal contributions and assists. Remarkable 🤷‍♂️

Jamiedfa

We should always be looking to sign the best Scottish talent, Walter would have signed him.

Colin Gardner

Bob do you actually enjoy supporting Rangers? Youd maybe better off at Asda on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon mate. Fitba's not for you.

John Palmer

The quick solve cone January is recall Lowry who can walk straight into the Team and replace Lammers. Same goes for Hagi if we can recall him also as he can replace Dessers. In the meantime I'd play Jack and McCausland with Danilo starting, Sima through the middle, Cantwell on the left and McCausland on the right. That fixes the issue for now and will see us through to Jan. Dowell is also on his way back and was on the bench v Hearts.

Gregg

And yet there’s a sizeable noisy minority who wouldn’t even have him in their team. Agree with every thing you said and props to the grandson for a brilliant stat

Graeme Brough

Must be different watching online versus stadium. I thought Lundstram was by far our most effective player. Did his job all day. Not his fault others didn’t

Gregg

I thought the same - my folks laughed when I said it - they were at the game

James McNeill

Anyone got any ideas by Scott Wright has been converted to a number 8

Nikky Cairney

Must’ve been watching something different regarding Ben Davies. Was bullied all day by Shankland. Don’t think he won a ball in the air all day. Far too weak. Would be shocked if Souttar isn’t back in for Wednesday and the semi.

Callum Dinnen

Some amount of mental gymnastics from 3 of the podders desperate to not acknowledge Tav when discussing Man of the Match. I thought that section of the pod was pretty pathetic.

Ross Baird

Fair comments on Dessers and totally agree - I don’t see a way back. If there is I think it would have to be as a regular sub. Apparently did well as a sub for Feyenoord and was famous for scoring when coming on. That could build his confidence, but just don’t see even that happening. Agree with Cammy, so disappointed with his lack of physicality.

Callum Dinnen

Decent stat, my favourite is still that no right back anywhere in the world has scored as many goals in the 21st century as Tav.

Cameron Bell

None of them deserved MOTM and if you are aiming for Tav he missed a penalty and failed to stop the cross coming in for the goal, and scored a penalty and put in the cross for the winner. So if those cancel each other out, let’s talk about the rest of his game. It wasn’t good.
