Cantwell was subbed for not following instructions repeatedly. Clement didn't have a choice then.

My biggest concern being at the stadium was we had no attacking threat. Aris gave us the ball back repeatedly and only had Danilo up top. Throw ins at their box and Danilo is out getting the ball thrown to him and lay it off to the thrower which leaves nobody in the box. We need more attacking threat especially against a team as poor as aris

Probably because Lammers was to least trying to do what the manager wanted him to do (very badly though) Can’t really be seen to be rewarding Cantwell for not following his game plan. He wasn’t playing particularly well either.

Lammers use of the ball was far worse than Cantwell prior to the substitution. Lammers should have been hooked and Cantwell should have moved to the middle. If Clement continues like this his credit is going to dwindle fast.

Danilo is a decent but not brilliant striker. Certainly not a lone striker in Europe. The squad is a shambles. I can’t blame the current coach. Pep couldn’t get a tune out of what is a truly dreadful squad of players as they stand. I think when 100% fit the squad is ok, still second best but ok. With injuries and fitness it is dreadful.

What I find utterly baffling is that in excess of 50,000 of us can see Cantwell is not a right winger and that Lammers is one of the worst signings in our history and believe me I've seen a lot of shite pull on our Jersey. The manager seems to have a stubbornness about him and a I know best attitude. That will eventually be his downfall. The guy a felt sorry for last night was Lundstum. Guy gets a hard time off us but he at least tries his fukin heart out which some of the imposters in our team could learn a thing or two from him. Going to take years to sort this mess out!

Personally I would have removed Lammers instead of Cantwell, but I can sort of see the logic behind it. Even before the international break there were signs some of the usual culprits weren't listening, the tempo had dropped and the backwards passes were back. If Cantwell was ignoring instructions to stay wide then taking him off when he did sends a message to the others in positions where we don't have options on the bench at present. Unfortunately I don't think the usual suspects will change until we drop them.

It didn't stop the manager on still playing Lammers, the guy is awful but he has a Hard on for him and plays him in that No 10 ahead of Cantwell, Cantwell is far more effective in that No 10, Lammers should be nowhere near the team or even the sub bench but he still showed up and contributes nothing, that's on Clement.

Cantwell for me flatters to deceive,always has bar a few dead rubbers last season when everyone was packing up for their holidays….I do not believe playing out of position should get you a pass for a bad performance either but for the manager to play him out there for the sole purpose of getting width in the team is totally ludicrous….playing Lammers at all then coming out and saying it was an improvement on the last Aris game is absolute bonkers….ive been told he’s our first proper Manager since Walter aswell 🤦‍♂️

That was diabolical last night. Every bit as bad as the away game. If Clement had any illusions about what he needs to with this squad they have to be gone now Cifuentes and Lammers need sent to the shadow realm along with Dessers. 3 of the worst players I’ve ever seen, and we’ve seen some crap over the year Michael Beale should never work a day in football again the mess he’s left us in. The board should also be held to account for allowing it to happen. AGM next week should be interesting

I genuinely believe this group of players do not have the stomach or the balls to fight for this, the jersey is too heavy for the lot of them (Butland and McAusland aside), I fear the worst for Hampden and the Piggery this month.

We have spent what.. £10-£11 million on junk? £3.5 of that was on lammers (I think) he has to play him so we can retain some sort of transfer fee for him. If we dump him and never play him again, that's £3.5 + wages gone. If we release him, we will have to come to some agreement on his wages, more money gone. We have to hope somebody wants him, and we can maybe get £2 mill back on him. The best chance of that is to play him. Cantwell is a fraud, half a dozen key passes, and the odd good finish, I can't remember a player the fans have taken to who offers so little when it matters.

Take it you don’t like Cantwell Gary as u mention it about 5 times every new pod🤦‍♂️. He is being played out of position and is not a right winger ffs, there’s more to worry about in that squad than Cantwell, let’s start with Barisic, Cifuentes who we were told was the real deal, Lammers who gets to play in Cantwells best position but contributes zero. Cantwell was one of our best players last season when he came in, the lad will be fine once played in a position that he is comfortable with

I take it you don’t like Borna,Billy as you never seem to shut up about him?….If you bothered to read my full post you can see Im mostly digging out the manager for picking Lammers…as for last season,the games that mattered against Celtic,he was hopeless…if you’re talking about a no look pass against St Mirren in the last minute at Ibrox when we’re cruising then fill yer boots mate….Guys like Novo,Lovenkrand etc were consistently played out of position but the difference with them was they pulled the big boy pants on and did the buisness when it REALLY mattered.

And if you’re asking,yes I would play Cantwell in there before Lammers but that’s just a sad indication of where we are at….our proper manager seems to think Lammers is a better option tho.

People are making every excuse under the sun for Cantwell. He deserved to be taken off, ignoring the managers instructions to go wide, fannying about repeatedly losing the ball and everything costing us a goal. He's living off last season, done absolutely nothing this season, at least lammers is shite at doing what he is told, Cantwell is shite at not doing what he is told.

He was MOTM in countless games last season and gave us real energy and linked play mate when deployed in the more familiar no 10 role, he was a shining light last season when he arrived and I admit he has had a poor season so far however he has been asked to play wide right which I think we all agree is not his ideal position. The Manager has a lot of work to do as like he said when he arrived, he doesn’t have a magic wand and this group of players would get any manager the boot as has been proven, he needs the January window and the summer to really put his own stamp on the side and get rid and add to a very poor squad which MB assembled this summer, no mean feat. I will say that I feel we will not win the league this season under this current group and that cannot be placed on Clement, next season however he has no excuse

When you’re bringing a guy that’s played in the Prem and was supposedly wanted by Spurs&Liverpool (smirk),I’m looking for more than a bit of energy and a handful of MOTM against St Mirren and Motherwell…we’re a fickle support but also a very simple support:; Do it when it really matters ,eg-against that mob across the city and you’ll be a hero…Gazza,Laudrup,Hateley,Goram and Super are all universally loved for that very reason,not for scoring a goal against Ross County when the season’s done.

I think the fact of the matter is this team is a downgrade from last season's team , it's clear to see drop off in quality, drop off in goal scorers . I don't think tod cantwell got subbed for showboating I think it was just his overall performance and the effect he was having on the game which turned out to be the right change . However as everyone else says I would have moved him into the 10 and took lammers off I think we all agree on that . The only positive I can think of is mccausland, and I think (hope) Clement is learning every week. We will not improve until we sign better players end of. And hopefully PC knows who to get and what to change

We had a rebuilding job when Beale came in and we now have an even bigger rebuild. How is that possible? Beale has literally ripped the team to shreds and left an absolute mess. Near enough the whole team is unfit or not in form 🤦🏻‍♀️

I genuinely don’t think fitness is the issue,I think it’s just an ability problem which leads to performances like last night which in turn leads to confidence/mentality issues….When we blew Hibs,Dundee and Hearts away in recent weeks,there was nothing wrong with the fitness and now that the new manager bounce has well and truly burst,this group are just reverting to type.

I mean fitness in an injury sense not slow and lackluster like with gio. But there are very few players who haven't been injured this season. The manager said it himself matondo cifuentes and Lawrence coming back from long term injury. Ridvan injury prone, raskin out jack out so no midfield availability. Scott wright out , roofe let's not go there, what's happened to dowell? Danilo was out for weeks, Even cantwell was out for weeks. This squad fully fit and in form who knows how good we would be ? But that's just not the case is it. The injuries and lack of good recruitment is killing us again.

It’s just part of the game…you’ll probably find all teams have loads of injuries but we just don’t notice it coz we don’t care about other teams….Hearts for example came to Ibrox a few weeks ago with about 6 first team players missing…Jack and Roofe are just Jack and Roofe but the rest are just down to bad luck….could maybe say Souttar and Dowell is bad recruitment as both have history of injury….Danilo was an unfortunate incident,Raskin went over on his ankle hitting a shot,just one of these things

That lot across the city have had 3 CBs and their RB out for the first 3 months of the season,now their best midfielder and the baldy Jap and Abada are out for months and they’re relying on Forrest and Johnson as their wingers but it doesn’t seem to stop them from getting the job done domestically at least.

I think he genuinely prefers Lammers because Clement doesn’t need to justify playing him for any reason…he’s came in with no loyalty to anyone as none of them are his players so he’s playing who he sees as the best option.

Yeah fair point but Celtic have been dropping points and we should have bet them at Ibrox which goes to show the diff a few players can make . Other teams will of course have injuries too I'm not making excuses I'm just highlighting the fact how bad our injury list has been last two seasons and arguably the worst in the league, look at gios reign it got him sacked . 55 season we had near enough a fully fit squad and a strong bench like for like we just don't have that now. I suppose part of me wishes deep down there is more levels for this team to go but unfortunately I'm beginning to think that's just my hoping for the best . Were average and will turn out a really good performance every few weeks or so which gives us glimmer of hope

The last two games both came with expectation, aberdeen after cetic dropped points and a chance to get back into the title race and last night after betis lost presenter a chance to qualify. In both cases this squad did what it always does which is crumble under the pressure. Clement talked about seeing a nervousness in the squad this past week he hadn’t seen before. It won’t change whilst Tav, Goldson, Barasic, lundstrum etc are cleaned out. These guys just cannot handle any form of expectation. The shirt is too big for the majority of this squad and has been for years. The worrying thing for me last night is Cantwell is one of the few players I think can handle playing for Rangers and yet he is being pushed out of position to accommodate Lammers who is a mid table SPL player at best. I don’t understand that from Clement. He surely needs to set the spine of the team and then rotate the rest of the players around it. Butland, Goldson (although I don’t think he can be trusted), lundstrum(again can’t be trusted), Cantwell and Danilo. That in itself shows how much of a bin fire we still are. Clement will see that nervousness again at Hampden in 2 weeks time….I don’t think this squad has it in it to get over the line

Yes evidently so. Seen it too many times. With gio and Beales Appointments I kept hoping we would get better and we just didn't . We got worse. I like to look at things objectively. We're just not that good a rangers team ATM. However faith in PC hopefully he can get some decent signings in and improve us cause without it we're just going to continue to shit the bed and chuck trophies and leagues
