Really like Sima but he's a loan player he's not ours, if we could snap him up then good but have my doubts that's gonna happen, make the best of while he's here.

james whyte

The fact players didnt have individual fitness plans is an absolute shitshow.

Ross

sorry but Danilo is miles off it. Couple chances on thursday done nothing. Clean through on goal yesterday and his first instinct was to pass it back the way. He’s not much better than Dessers atall from what i’ve seen

Niall MacKay

We need new players in the squad that are the leadership group. The current lot have failed the club for years now. I'm as upset with yesterday's performance as I was the previous two. A complete revert to type where we just hang about waiting for something to happen. Meanwhile us fans are just waiting for the next dropped points. We might win the league cup but it'll be papering over the cracks.

Russ

Maybe I've got it wrong but chasing Fashion out of the club for £4m and then probably not even getting to the table with Brighton for double that for Sima just screams negligence in player recruitment. Both of those players are 2 cheeks of the same arse for me. Surely you punt Sakala, bring in a promising young player for a low fee or the fee you sell him for and then punt him for double that, a la, the player trading model? No wonder we can't raise the base or ceiling level of our squad with our recruitment

David Marshall saying McAusland isn't good at tracking back, the last 2 games shows that he can track back, losing the ball in the corner and then tracking back to win it on the half way line is more than half the team when they lose the ball

David Marshall

I never actually said that, I said other people have said that. And I agree he has been good at that the last couple of games.

Spoon

Agree with everything re Mcausland but we need to stop making out 20 is a ‘kid’ across the world teams bleed guys 18+ in as a matter of course. If he has it he makes it if he fails he fails but this over pampering holds us back.

Spoon

But he was called 18 then 19 and David still calls him a kid! You’re all right….but he’s not a kid he’s 20 nearly 21.

Spoon

I’m in agreement actually playing youth instead of talking youth development is the way ahead, absolutely agree with you in terms of your ability and form gets you in and if you have to drop out due to drop in output or form so be it. I’m agreeing while being pedantic…

Gregg

I think he just looks younger because him mum still cuts his hair, so it’s confusing for people. Can I suggest this is brought up at both the agm and the next press conference - he needs to know!!!

Spoon

I also agree with that….the boys rocking a stooges haircut and not the Iggy type…

Heart and Hand

I’m 46, an 18yo is a kid 😀 But the discussion was about playing him or not playing him based on form like anyone else. Age is irrelevant.

Spoon

Yeah I get that but he’s not 18 he’s nearly 21….thats like a 6th older again…..

Spoon

I’m 50 next week and can tell you based on a steep decline in the last few years age is most definitely not irrelevant…no living organism should make the noises I do just getting up, down or moving slowly

Gregg

Can you get somebody to get him telt about the curtains David - no you but 😂

AmoRangers

David, or anyone, can we please ask the club tomorrow if they can summarised the total expected costs of NEH over say the next 5 years (including costs of running plus interest on loans outstanding) and what it is expected to bring in (revenue and ideally profit, if any). We're multiple years in and the cost against forecast return has never really been shared with shareholders. We're nearing a year of operations too so it'd be nice to know whether it's bringing in more, less or what we planned for. The board are quick to wheel it out when discussing their "legacy". I am generally in favour of NEH and have enjoyed attending your shows there but we need more transparency around the NEH financials given the outlay.

AmoRangers

Thanks David. On the last bit, congrats on another successful show last Friday. Mark was a bit before my time but I thoroughly enjoyed his stories and hearing his views on the current crop of players.

AmoRangers

Sakala was an easy £4m onto the books which could pay (in accounting terms anyway) for 4 players on four year deals at £4m each for a financial year. He returned quite well and I'd argue was a big success given that he came on a free. The financials of letting him go made too much sense and that's before considering that Sima is a younger, better, & more defensively astute player.

AmoRangers

He's flying too close to the sun; Sima obviously needs to reign the goals in and find the balance between being good enough we'll be successful and wish to buy him but also poor enough that Brighton will let him go easily! (/s).

David Innes

It’s almost unbelievable- no wonder our injury prone players keep getting injured

Paul

Couldn't agree more with this mate. He's a 20yr old man. We have a tendency in this country to refer to players between the ages of 20 to even 24 as youngsters.

John Jamieson

Let’s me honest if dessers played the way Danilo played on Thursday he would be getting it right at some point Danilo not being dessers isn’t going to be good enough for him imo

David Kiltie

Apropos fitness levels, I remember that early in the season post-55 the players looked sluggish. Later that season under Gio the fitness levels were incredible. Running that lot into the ground at Hampden in extra time 3 days after Braga and doing the same to Hearts 5 weeks later - so pleasing. Autumn 2022 saw a horrendous dip. My understanding was that Beale’s pre season was really physically gruelling, in deliberate contrast to the prior year, but clearly whatever he did was not successful. With Mark Waller back on board, Tom Taylor arriving soon and a boss who clearly is very keen on fitness and conditioning let’s hope for a return to that sweet spot of spring 2022.

David Kiltie

He probably will be way outside our price range. However if it can be shown that EPL players can have a fruitful loan spell at Rangers which helps get their career back on track then that is a positive for us. Compare Sima’s experience so far compared to Amad Diallo’s.

Graham Jones

I think we need to trust the manager with his decisions, be it where he plays Cantwell or how often he uses McCausland. Todd needs to learn to ply in these ares whether he likes playing there or not. Our history if full of great players who stepped up when asked and played out of position at times. Young Ross is in good hands. Clement hard a record in working with young players and developing them, so we have to trust him in how he uses him. Scottish football has a horrendous record of burn out in younger players, and the manager will probably have the knowledge to guide his development in a way that avoids that. Belgium have a pretty good record with youth development in recent years, so we should trust the manager there, even if we feel we’re being deprived of seeing the boy play. I also think we have to keep in mind the timetable we are in the midst of now. There are no breaks midweek till January, so he will be making choices that maybe don’t make sense to us, but are exactly Tyler right thing to get through this phase of games.

Nikky Cairney

Agree about playing a more attacking option in midfield. But disagree about having to change it to go to Aberdeen or Hibs and Hearts. That’s our problem, we treat these teams like they are good teams. Do you see that lot drop Oreilly or Hatate when they go away to bring a defensive option in beside McGregor? We need to start treating this league with zero respect and until we do we won’t get to where we want to.

Gordon

Couple of points…While Cantwell had better game on Sun as 10 I thought in 1st half especially he was far too deep. He should have been in space behind St Mirren midfield closer to Dessers. He was taking up space from Lawrence. Also love McCausland’s energy and attitude. Only worry is yet to see him go down the outside of the FB - hope he is not a one trick pony.

Alex Hood

Surely we can sue Michael Beale for professional negligence for signing Lammers and Dessers? Open and shut case.

Gary Shaw

Great point…I was listening to this when I was in the car last nite and that’s the exact same thing I was thinking when the boys were discussing this…that mob play that way regardless who they play and it does them no harm…too many people getting lost in this “ a 6,an 8 a 10” crap…you’re a midfielder, you harass and win the ball back then play when you’ve got it,it’s not rocket science.

Graeme Homer

So over the last few weeks its availability is the best ability and moaning over injuries. However when it comes to playing Lammers and just to avoid playing him, you want Clement to do the exact opposite and play players into the ground or rushed back. Then on the formation, we should be flexible and players should be comfortable but Cantwell is obviously exempt from that going by people’s defence for him after the Aris game. We shouldn’t play the defensive pivot despite every manager using it a one form or another and Clement explaining it, only for him to do what everyone wants and for people to complain that Tav & Borna didn’t play their game, we’ll shock horror one or the other! I’m only 9 minutes I’m confused as what it is everyone wants?

Graeme Homer

Sima is a striker, yes he is versatile enough to play wide. So we don’t need to ask him to play there as it’s his natural position. Only at us is he seen as a winger or inside forward.

Graeme Homer

On David Marshall point on Clement and Koppen knowing each other, it should be clarified more than Koppen was there for 6 months as a youth scout and had no interaction with Clement’s role and both have said they’ve never met until he was interviewed for the role.

Callum Dinnen

People need to shut the fuck up where Lammers is concerned. He's started 1 out of the last 4 games and has clearly only featured as much as he has because along with Sima, he's the only attacking player who has consistently been fit and available since Clement took the job. The longer he's been in the job and the more options he's had, the less Lammers has played.
