The board is unwilling to comment on the squad. Last year, they were happy to do it "best in class," and Bisgrove commented on it over the summer. Having a dig at fans who pay money. What a laugh.

Ian Irvine

Look forward to seeing their plans for MyGers. At the moment it’s effectively just a tax to get into a ballot for tickets which seems expensive.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks guys really good report, cheers David and Colin 👍

Stewart Campbell

Seems like a shambles of a set up. Should be statements from the main board members. Just add time at the end for questions

Roger Smith

Thanks Colin, that was some effort, much appreciated 👍

John MacRae

I’m glad you agreed David that the “subway loyal” comment was at best ill-advised. I have purchased MyGers every year and got to as many games as I could to try and get a season ticket. I live in West Yorkshire and work full time. I don’t need some moron in his ivory tower slagging supporters off for leaving early. I’ve now stopped the auto renewal of MyGers and will gladly support the club from home.

Martin Boyd

Sounds like the wage structure will be redone with the comment about getting that £10m gone. Good, too much money for little or no return. Sounds much like a normal AGM , silly stuff and interesting stuff. Well done Colin

Ryan Stewart

Net Zero? I assumed that was Lammers and Dessers transfer value

Rose Mcloughlin

The old battle goes on about fans leaving early...I live 20 min walk away from the stadium so can stay to see the players go off the field so its easy to stay..but fans leaving earlier around us just say bye see you next game we know all the reasons why they need to go...and we know they would love to stay and see the game to the end but cant..we dont think any less of them or their passion of our club....so if you moan about this just be thankful you dont have the problems others do.....only thing I hate is tv commentators who comment about fans leaving when we are not winning as if the fans are making a statement..but no comment about the fans if we are winning 4 nil..its a farce with them....great pod thanks guys for all the info.

Davie Stuart

There's one question I really hope someone would ask, "Why was Micheal Beale given so much free reign with the transfers this summer and is it something the board really regret?"

Jack

I know people will ask the questions that are important to them but for Beale and last summer not to be mentioned once is staggering.

Stephen

Will there not be a problem having the disabled section next to the singing section in terms of the flags and people standing blocking the view of people in wheelchairs?

Colin

The new disabled section is on a raised platform so hopefully not. The ultras have also confirmed at a fan engagement session that if seated / stood centrally the flags won’t be up during the game thankfully.

Bob MacCallum

Ta, Colin. I was there too. Re Subway Loyal, the way to get the fans to stay till the end is for the team to play all out, trying to score more until the final whistle. They never do! No wonder bored fans leave.

Gregg

If you step outside your lane and get called out for it - it’s probably best not to do it the following year.

Brian Rae

Those in attendance should be briefed that any questions that can be answered by the SLO, Fan engagement night, or customer service should be pointed in that direction and told in no uncertain terms not to waste anyone's time at the AGM. The board should have been grilled today but once again, a few selfish idiots(I'm being kind) got their say and the chance was gone. The chairman not providing comment on the current squad is a massive climb down from last year's "best in years" quip. The summer shit show deserved far more scrutiny and answers as the money allowed to be squandered by a rookie manager is unacceptable.

KMS

David the problem with you personally airing a personal opinion is that, no matter what, people instantly run with you having inside information, being an official media partner, so you saying with conviction that something is '100%' personal belief, good intentioned, or whatever, ultimately will be taken and ran with. Regarding the singing section, I think that until the board come out and give us the final answer, it's best not to 'speculate' because this is a divisive and emotive topic, which is causing a lot of animosity, and unrest within the support. There has been a lot of unsavoury incidents, and confrontations during 'trials' with people aggressively disagreeing shall we say. I just think it's perhaps best to keep your counsel on this for now, you made innocent comments, based on personal opinions at the NEH night last week, and look at the drama that caused online 🙈 People instantly take you as being 'in the know' because of your position and access, it might be something to consider going forward?

Heart and Hand

Would make for fairly shit shows though wouldn't it? 'Here is this topic, I'm not discussing it though' :-) Nah, it happens, it's frustrating but I just need to accept it and always be clear in how I say it. That is definitely something I need to do. At the end of the day, divisive or not, it's not a situation that can be compromised on so some fans regardless will be unhappy. That's the reality.

Graeme Guthrie

That AGM was a direct representation of what we've seen on the pitch this season. Disaster.

Graeme Homer

Firstly thanks Colin, some shift you’ve put in this week. The damned, if they do damned if they don’t brigade are out again. I wonder if the club need to should have a system in place and say if you’re asking about X,Y or Z then this isn’t the platform but these other events are to stop these daft questions.

Scott Moore

I agree that the Chairman’s comments re Subway Loyal were ill advised. It’s a hot topic and I can see both sides of argument. But I would expect the Chairman of Rangers to rise above that type of crass comment.

KMS

How many questions involved comments about the Tims?.... None????.... My goodness... An AGM about the club it's actually about?? 😮... It'll never catch on 🤔👀😉

Ross

Will the fan engagement board (I think that’s what it’s called) that was set up be a better forum for asking and answering the pertinent questions? Will we get sight of the outcomes of these meetings

KMS

It is divisive and very confrontational, I think once it's announced it will be accepted and folk will finally move on, it should have been handled very differently by the club to begin with, but given the chairmans comments re 'Subway Loyal' I don't hold out much hope for any improvement in how this board handle such matters any time soon. I don't think you realise how much weight your opinion/comment carries within the support at times, and you do get a lot of people who take it as gospel that you are getting furnished with board/club level feedback. 🙈

Gareth Williams

On the subway loyal bit - I take my elderly father, we’ve sat together for 33 years through thick and thin, My Gers members etc. Sometimes we need to leave a bit early to avoid the rush and to walk back to the car as my dad’s not too steady on his feet, more so when 2 or 3 up. My dad arrives at Ibrox early on match days (3 hours before the match) to get parked so he can stay longer and not have miles to cover afterwards to get back to the car. The point being, if Bennett is moaning about the subway loyal and loyalty, maybe he should be considering ways to mitigate it, such as lobbying for better transportation links (a station), police controlled traffic ( the way it used to be at Ibrox) to make traffic flow better, challenging the council’s ridiculous parking ban coming in next season. It’s ok for him sitting there in his heated seat criticising but when you’re a 77 year old OAP or someone who looks out for him it’s a bit different!

Ricky

Thanks guys.

Craig Fryatt

Well done Colin, next year can you ask why I didn’t get a ticket for Aberdeen away?

Andy sawers

At least we know bisgrove can get digs in Spain and we are heading for a net zero, fuck who signed off on the signings and that. Hope that guy got his away ticket.

Colin McL.

Maybe staying to the end will make Lammers put the ball into the net, turn Dessers into a striker, solve Roofe’s ‘injury’ problems and ensure we’re not on our 3 manager in 2 years. And that’s only the tip of the issues on the footballing side. Yes, the ‘subway loyal’ is a discussion point. But it’s an unnecessary jibe at an inappropriate time from Bennett.

Tamus

Did no one ask what due diligence was given before the signings of absolute duds like Lammers and Desperate? And if any was done who rubber stamped spending 3.5M for an attacker who'd scored 5 or six goals in two years.

james whyte

As with all points of view, opinions of the board etc...if we are winning regular shiny hings nobody cares too much. We are all so desperate for success that when it isnt happening we focus on anything else, tickets, MyGers, Singing Sections and so on. Until the board provide a winning side on the pitch the off field noise will continue. So, I hope tae feck Clement finds a magic wand and gets a squad worthy of our Club and winning Lge Titles. For all our sakes.

Heart and Hand

Basically, it all comes back to this. Be successful and they’ll get praise. Be rubbish and they won’t.

Eddie Cotter

Thanks for the super coverage and notes Colin. I am the "Eddie" that asked about the priority parking, quick get away with the increased injury time. After the AGM, it was explained to me of other plans, further complications around the Albion carpark and footprint around the stadium. RFC are however in discussion with the shipping lines, police with a view to addressing the issues. It appears fans become riled when "why are we playing shite" isn't asked when we're not winning. My question was relevant to my peers and the travelling support from Norn Iron as its a real issue we cannae see the Full time whistle. We literally won't make the sailing. Apologies, if this comes across as selfish. P.s. keep up the great work, H&H is awesome 💙

Ian Cartledge

I was hoping the preview would have been on the site by now? Is it dropping tonight per chance? (Big fan of the show)

Ian Cartledge

Thanks David….if only i had waited a few minutes!🙈

Dougie

Net zero is Dessers strike rate...

Eddie Cotter

Apologising to the masses, as it appears the question aren't the most popular 🤦‍♂️😂💙

Heart and Hand

Ha don’t think they mean a quick q like that, more the five minute buildups to then ask about net zero or invite the CEO to a flat in Spain 😀

AmoRangers

Folks are out there slagging the Net Zero question but ultimately compliance to these initiatives have an impact on the club; travel, energy, financial, products & services offered, CapEx on infrastructure. Its a valid question since the Board are openly acknowledging that we are addressing Net Zero without so much as even a page about it on the club website. Do we even know if we have people employed specifically for this? AGM was a total disaster David and speaks to the lack of an informed, competent & fan backed activist group involved with the club to hold them accountable.

David Welsh

Great choice of music from the most notable GBV alum! He’s put out some brilliant stuff in his own right. Greetings from rainy Dayton, Ohio!

Keith Kettlewell

100% Gareth, the club accepts being second class in this country where they should be lobbying for better transport links from ibrox rather than criticise subway loyal fans like me who have no choice but to leave to be home for kids etc. misjudged comment from Bennett bordering on insulting.

Heart and Hand

AGM was the same as it was every year, going back to when I was a kid. It never changes because with such a huge support everyone has different opinions on what they consider to be most important.

Gregg

This - the lack of transport planning for Ibrox and hampden is a joke. It shouldn’t be difficult

Gregg

💯 David - not much you can do at an AGM and I think people build it up beforehand. Personally think you’re likely to get more informative output from the forums that have been set up - hopefully these will include the new director of football at some point. It would be good to understand the process going forward for transfers - will it be a committee of him, the manager, head scout etc. Or similar. I expect we have learned an expensive and harsh lesson over the summer.

Gary Brown

Perfectly valid question Eddie and one the club needs to take on onboard. You might not get what you & the other NI bus Bears want but if you don't ask you'll definitely not get.

Gary Brown

Thanks David and especially Colin for all your great work bringing the AGM points to us. I'm heartened that the manager stepped in to answer questions which TBH he's not directly accountable for. But he took to the task when others wouldn't. Re the booing issue, the 60yr old making the point has seen some pretty awful seasons in his time, as have I. It wasn't all glory. But never heard as much booing as in this season. There are more than enough people who abuse our club and players already. The booing from our own kind has to stop, its not The Rangers Way.

Stephen

Thought that was a good question. Certainly something I had never even considered and it’s definitely a problem if you are all spending so much money to watch the team.

Dez Roberts

Just wondering if the club has thought about changing the 3pm Sunday kick offs at Ibrox to 2pm, especially in the winter months? I’m not sure if there is a SPFL rule that states if the game was scheduled to kick off at 3pm on the Saturday but gets moved due to European commitments then it MUST kick off at 3pm on the Sunday. I know very little can be done about Saturday 3pm kick offs other than engage with the shipping lines and police as you have mentioned, but surely the suggestion above would give our NI fans a better chance of seeing the full 90 mins plus any stoppage time on the Sunday (especially if a change of kick off time is within OUR control)? It might also encourage more fans in general to stay until FT, especially our other fans that still have to travel a fair distance/have family commitments, as they would have an extra hour to play with. I know Philippe Clement recently questioned why we were kicking off at lunchtime on Sundays after playing in Europe so maybe he would not be in favour of an earlier kick off, but maybe 2pm could be the compromise?

G Calder

You are 100% correct - net zero is a huge deal for all aspects of industry -and football is an industry . Achieving net zero requires investment . Football can’t expect to stand still in a changing world - the fastest it’s ever been . Artificial Intelligence & Decarbonisation will change this world beyond recognition . Just wait until someone asks about AI at one of our AGM’s !

Graham Vauls

I'm glad someone has finally asked the question regarding Helen st parking for the NI supporters. Hopefully the club can help in some way as it is a nightmare. Plenty of people have been left behind due to staying to the final whistle.

Teddy Lasso

Could the AGM Q&A be held over 2 days?

Heart and Hand

No there’s no rule. I certainly wouldn’t have a problem with it and I wouldn’t imagine it would be a huge problem for most supporters.

Dez Roberts

Cheers David. Is this something you could ask the club informally to see if there is any appetite for it? FWIW I also believe that not only would our supporters not have a problem with it, they would actively welcome a 2pm KO on a Sunday.
