Sad to have missed today, we played well, Souttar isn’t impressing me

Simon H&H

Kevin Clancy cost me today. Tadger

Scott Tolmie

It was cammy kerr, beck is an absolute player and something we should be all over

Graham Ross

Agree about Clancy....absolute cheat.

Robert harper

Give dessers a break. He came in and done his job. And he played well today

Graham Jones

Dessers was okay today. I think he isn’t fit and needs to improve his stamina. I’m not going to add to what people are saying about him because he did well today and deserves the praise for the goal and hard work. There are no quick fixes to finding form. It’s always a longer process than you need.

Gregg

Would like to hear from the referees on the pods - think one or two are qualified. Didn’t think it was a straight leg or studs down challenge.

Gregg

Fair play - need to hold your hands up in these instances then.

Robbie McCarroll

I think cifuentes is in control of the tackle watch his weight distribution he doesn’t stamp down he almost pulls his weight away from the leading leg it looks worse in replay / slow motion but in real time it isn’t a reckless challenge, given its studs first it leads to red but I don’t think it was a red IMO

Billy Forrester

Very clear that Goldson is missed big time when not in our team, he gets stick from some but for me he is one of if not the 1st name on the team sheet

Gary Brown

Dessers was much improved today. Plenty he did hasn't been picked up in post match, presser or here. Continually made himself available as an out ball when we were pinned back for periods. His link up play was good and he assisted in Cantwell's 'goal'. Supporters need to support the guy. He's a Rangers player! Nice to see the ones who think that way clap him off for his efforts today. If you want to shout abuse, boo, criticise? There's 11 non Rangers players on the park to be targeted. Who knows, it might put them off their game!!

Gary Brown

Thanks for the post match pod guys.

Callum Dinnen

I thought Dessers did fine today. Not an outstanding performance by any stretch of the imagination, but there's small shoots of encouragement particularly in his hold up play. If Roofe had started and put in that performance then people would be quite encouraged.

Christina Herriot

I thought Dessers was fine today. Worked really hard. Just needs to up his fitness to last 90 minutes.

Callum Dinnen

Also said this in a different comments section but I don't see any reason why Sima would cost us more than £4m-£5m. Brighton do a lot of eye catching transfer business, however every summer they're also moving on 2 or 3 players at a small loss that they've punted on for a fee in the region of £5m that they've had out on loan for a couple of seasons. From Brighton's perspective, Sima has probably hit his peak resale value with his form at us, and the sensible option from their point of view is to take a small loss on him by selling to us and sticking in a sell on to try and claw some of that loss back.

Angus Mackay

Dessers was good until he tired today. The guy is miles off match fitness and missing sharpness and confidence, but there’s definitely a player hiding in there. Cammy is right about him needing to stay on his feet though.

John Brown

If we appeal the red can Cifu play the cup final?

Graham Leatherbarrow

Seriously anyone thinking Dessers was okay today, your quality parameters are way below the standard that is truly needed to get us at the top, slow ponderous and lacked movement, the goal was a pleasant surprise

Graham Leatherbarrow

Felt we did lack midfield taking responsibility again at times. Side to side probing with more pace required

Gary Shaw

Couldn’t agree more…everything about him is just horrible to watch…anytime there’s a physical battle he does that pretend jump as if he’s competing for the ball…so slow and his touch is horrific..awful footballer.

Gary Shaw

I think if he played in the banter years he would genuinely be mentioned alongside guys like Kyle,Sandaza etc….

Gary Brown

Dessers was ok today. Yes, ok - not brilliant, super or great but ok. Today was an improvement! He moved better, linked better, scored, assisted Cantwell's 'goal' and continually showed as an out ball when we were pinned back. He wouldn't get in any EPL side, everyone knows it but he's what we have. Presently pretty much ALL we have. So let's give him some encouragement. A big part of his (& Lammers) problem is snatching at chances and overplaying, trying to 'make sure' on chances. Both caused by an anxiety to score (or 'trying too hard' !) - because they both know they aren't performing as well as they could but want to do to help the team. And please the fans! All people respond far better to encouragement than criticism. You mention high standards are required and you are 100% right. Its what Rangers are built on. But we can't buy champagne when we only have beer wages! We as fans have to be realistic. If ok + 1 goal = win / 3pts. I'll take that. Every single game.

David Anderson

I think the guys mentioned that tbh, I do agree though. He's miles off what we need but unfortunately we don't have much else just now.

Gary Brown

Agreed. But difficult to judge today given it was a Mid sent off before HT. But given all the hoo-ha about Cantwell as #10, since he got the position back he's played too deep v St Mirren, too high v Hearts and too far left today. Don't think he's avoiding responsibility, maybe just not experienced / mature enough enough to do so. Going 0-1 so early required a 'proper' #10 to sit in the right area of the pitch to command the field and dictate the tempo & style of play. He didn't. Did brilliantly for his 'goal' tho (IMO shuda stood). So he's effectively playing as a #11! Subbed, tactically, at HT so it is harsh to judge him. Lundstrum - good shift but he dictates (restricts!) the tempo of the team. So he's your 'responsibility' holder! 2nd half, Sterling, young RB, who played at LB on Wed and stepped into Mid today as a tactical / game management sub. Need to give the lad some credit, did ok. 3-1 up, so need to have an eye on Thurs. 3-1. 3pts. On to Thurs!

Gordon Mitchell

Only way to judge a tackle properly is to watch it back at normal speed. Watching a tackle in slow motion gives a completely false view of it. The worse one is when VAR officials present the ref of a still of the final contact. Almost like they are terrified to make a mistake and are trying to justify flagging it to ref by making it look as bad as possible.

Gary Shaw

Just think everything about him and Lammers is awful….they are both so far off the standard to even be a standard Rangers player never mind a really good one.

Gary Shaw

Hes got his deficiencies but you definitely notice when he’s not there and out of the current crop of defenders,he’s your first choice CB all day long.

Gary Shaw

Midfield is a shambles no matter what combination we play…it needs major surgery in there before we can contemplate winning the league again…..

Gary Shaw

Don’t know if anyone noticed this but go back and watch Cantwell when Tav is hitting the penalty…absolutely pathetic.

George Harrison

Although we were relatively comfortable during the 2nd half, game management needs working on … why Jack Butland was so quick to retrieve the ball and get it in back into play in the first part of the 2nd half was bizarre ! Clearly someone had a word, but come on guys, use the heid !

Stevie lawson

Take away dessers deflected goal,He was absolutely dross again,You know when he goes 1 on 1 with the keeper he’s not going to score,He doesn’t hold the ball up,His passing is dreadful,He’s done,Got to look to move him on,He’s never going to cut it at rangers,

Paul

This is something that has bothered me for years. We still don't have a central mid player who can drive forward with the ball, play with his head up, break the lines and score.

Spoon

If we don’t lose a man today I think we kick on and win that 5-1 as for large parts we played some good stuff. It’s sad to watch Dessers I feel for the guy as he clearly tries but is both not suited to our league and bang out of form. Hoped he could play through the form but it looks like just a bad fit and unlikely to change. The boy is just not good enough. I like Cifu and tackle today aside which I only saw at game and not seen a replay I thought he was doing the basics well today. His passing was good and while I get he sometimes drift out of position a bit he’s a young guy who’s moved half way round the world and needs some patience. One guy I will give credit to, and I haven’t been as impressed as others with his ‘resurgence’ was Lundstum who showed real desire and energy to Marshall the midfield when we went to 10. Still feel he’s too square and too slow in moving the ball but he put a shift in today and had just the right amount of bite. On losing the goal, we have to accept if you play open attacking football sometimes you lose a goal. Our problem right now is our chance creation and chance taking aren’t aligned. If we were scoring our chances we would be turning on comfortable 3 -1 or 4-1 games and nobody would be bothered by the odd goal conceded. Hard to criticise the team when they see out a 3-1 with 10 men and it could, probably should, have been more.

Bob MacCallum

Ta for saying what I've been saying for months. He was as poor as ever and would have been booed when subbed but for the presence of big Phil. One of the guys said here that "he worked his arse off". No, he ran around a lot ( I could do THAT) but never quite closed down a defender, never quite got in a tackle. His sitter due to dilly dallying was a disgrace but summed up his lack of ability. If he starts throughout December, we have had it!

Bob MacCallum

Blimey! You weren't watching the same game as me and all around me in the SJ. Awful, awful display. Even his goal was a deflection that could have gone anywhere. As for his sitter, just before being hooked, that just sums up this dud. Guys like him and Lammers got Beale the sack.

Steven L

Intent isn’t a marker for serious foul play cammy

Granters

That’s another issue. Souttar, Davies, Balogun - i don’t think any of the 3 can be a consistent partner for Goldson. All 3 have flaws that are exposed eventually. Balogun probably the best of the 3. Need another LCB.

Alan Ryder

No one will ever convince me that Clancy gave that red card because he shat himself and was thinking of his windows. He thought I better send him off since VAR asked me to review. Had he not given it his windows were gone.

Gregg

You know yer fiba bob - how’s the wee polish right back doing you wanted to replace tav?

Spoon

Have to say I’m the opposite, think the guy is over rated. H a good player and not suggesting otherwise but the idea he is undroppable or doesn’t have huge flaws in his game is disingenuous. His passing is at best wayward, his heading is ok but no more and he quite often gets done for pace. I find it interesting that guys like Souttar who I thought did pretty well, particularly when it became more siege, get slated while Goldson flaws are ignored. Don’t disagree he’s important for us but he’s not Maldini.

Gary Shaw

I’m not his biggest fan by any stretch but he’s the most important/reliable of what we have….And your point on Souttar get more slated is very simple; his mistakes to games played ratio is really poor….when you look at how often Goldson has played he’s not actually made loads of howlers….this is the problem our fans seem to have, the more you play the worse you are (eg Tav,Goldson) and the less you play (Hagi,Roofe) the better you are.
