Martyn is joined once more by Davids Marshall and Herd to continue the countdown of the Rangers goals that you the Heart and Hand community thought were the greatest of all time. From the greatest night of all to some ultimately false dawns, the boys make sense of how the people voted.

Thanks again for inviting me on, so many great memories. Biggest surprise for me was Colin Stein's goal not being in the top 40 last time!

Listening to this series, it's hard not to observe the deteriorating standards of commentator. Archie MacPherson, Jock Brown, even Gerry McNee, were miles ahead of the main commentators we have in the modern era

Gregg

Brilliant - loved the Ferguson cup final goal.

Ewan Christie

Shocked that the Ferguson free-kick is in that position!

Callum Dinnen

The Whittaker goal is there because it's pretty much the only really memorable moment from the Manchester run that isn't in a penalty shootout. edit: Davie has just made this point.

I suspect there's another goal from the same game which will be higher up the list. Ferguson's shot that hits the post turns the tide on this game, and this goal was crucial to score when we did (I was standing in the aisle hands in prayer hoping it would go in because we needed to capitalise on our momentum), but there's a much better moment to come, which is why this is lower. I feel like this is similar to the Kamara goal against Leipzig - this goal and Kamara's are the best goals in their respective games, but both goals lack that special something that Lundstram's and Lovenkrands' goals both have.

For the Barrie MacKay goal, I had to run my then 5 year old daughter to a birthday party, so had to listen to the last 10 mins or so and the first part of extra time on the radio in the car. The goal happened when I was out of the car dropping her off at the venue; it was torture getting back into the car because it was obvious from the radio commentary that there had been a 3rd goal in the game, but it took what felt like an age for the commentators to confirm it was Rangers who were 2-1 up.

Another great show, thanks Martyn, Davie & Dave. Great to hear the views about the same goals across the age gap of you all. Ooooh! What will happen in the next episode? Its just like the cliffhanger endings in the old black & white Flash Gordon series shown around Christmas time 😆 (for us older bears!😉) Defoe's. I simply must add in that he was also on the move, about 15-20yds, and the 40yd pass / hoof from Tav. And he connected with it about an inch from the ground. McKay's. An exorcismic goal for all those years of pain but sadly gave the belief we weren't just back, we weren't just equal, we were better. Whittaker. Like Davie that had me going "maybe we could do this" and so I chanced it. Immediately got 2 uefa public sale tickets for the final on eBay from a Leverkusen fan as they'd been knocked out. Happy memories all round in this series (on & off the park). Thanks again guys.

Excellent show chaps. Bringing back so many memories. Just a small point. After the last show will it be possible to list the 50 goals somewhere. I for one would love to see them in a video and it may be something the Rangers Archives list on Facebook could take up.

Grant MacLean

Barrie McKay’s goal every point i agree with. A point missed though is we didn’t win the cup afterwards

Jim Milne

Thoroughly enjoying this new updates 50 Rangers greatest goals. Outstanding content fellas.

Gary Brown

A sore point, rightly omitted. This is all about Rangers greatest goals 😉

Scott Dickson

Great show gents, that Ferguson free kick is so iconic

Craig Buchanan

Don’t suppose anyone or any of the podders are compiling a corresponding series of YouTube links to accompany the list? Would be a great way to spend some screen time with my boy.

Tom Leitch

Martyn, can I add Roofe’s goal into the list?

Tom Leitch

On a more serious note, what is the music accompanying the show?

Defoe goal stands alone , many goals are replicated whether they are mazy slalom esq volleys or team goals maybe free kicks ...... in my 56 years such a goal doesn't exist 30 yard curling pass that drops out of the sky across the strikers shoulder onto his side foot and the ball is controlled passed into the corner of the net ....... someone find a link of the same goal because I don't believe it exists
